After about another hour of wandering Pelions bay, Kel took to the cliff side heading off toward the sea. As he reached the edge of town he could look out toward the ocean but looking back he had only a fleeting view of the city beach. He stepped off the ledge and flew low over the water, displacing it with the energy he used to stay aloft and the rush of air around him as he propelled himself above the water. Remaining low to the water but gradually accelerating, Kel headed eastward toward Flamma City.

Slowly, but surely, Buuyakuh emerged from the water below and climbed up the face of the cliff, his right hand having difficulty finding purchase. In it, he held a large blue stone that he had found interesting while walking on the ocean floor, and decided that he would study it in the clear daylight once he reached land. His hands and feet smashed into the rock face itself, deciding that making something to climb on would be easier than finding pre-existing ones. Some time after starting, Buuyakuh finally reached the top, crawling over the edge onto solid land. He dropped his catch and looked about him, trying to get a sense of where he was.

He noted the town in the distance, watching the people who lived there hustle and bustle about their business and interact with others from his safe distance. Oh, how he wished he could speak to them... but he knew better. If they saw him, they would either run or fight him, both of which would make Buuyakuh feel bad.... so, for now, he would study his rock.

He sat down with a 'thud', causing a couple of loose stones to fall off of the cliff face, and picked up his shiny stone. It was a deep blue, like his body, but.... blue-er, he supposed. It was also very smooth, as though it had been wind-blown and weathered down. Though, how could that have happened if he found it in the ocean? How wierd...

Buuyakuh placed the large saphire next to him and stood up, dusting his hands. He would leave it here... in case someone else wanted to play with it. Maybe one of the small fleshlings? They'd probably like it. Buuyakuh was now faced with a question that he found himself asking quite often: Where now? He scratched his head, for he had seen humans do that when they pondered, and thought hard... There! The Nice place! He had seen it from a distance before, and loved the scene it provided. Warm sun, lots of food for the fleshlings. He found lots of stuff to play with when there... old harvesting equipment that some farmer had lost. Setting off in a run, Buuyakuh gave the town a wide berth, for fear of being spotted. He could hardly wait to get there!

Kujaku's long travel from the capital city brought him up to overlooking a large town scaling each side of the cliffs in the narrow fjord bordered opposite by the great seas. He picked at his left tusk and took a deep breath of the salty sea air before stretching his arms out. The opportunity to just stop and relax in town was extremely tempting, but there was an important task at hand. Hopefully the people of the town wouldn't make a fuss about his traveling party and be willing to lend them a ship for sea passage. Without so much of a further pause, Kujaku started walking down a slope to the fjord interior to reach the bay area below.

Having overshot a jump by just a bit, Hrothgar missed the edge of the cliff and was set to plummet into the town below. In usual cases, the extra fall wouldn't have been a big problem. His bones were tough, and his element would fill in the gaps should an emergency arise. This time he had a passenger which was exceedingly rare. Reaching out, Hrothgar managed to catch the ledge of the cliff overlooking the cove town below with his free hand. Remembering Ciel was in the other hand, Hrothgar tossed her up to the top of the cliff before grabbing hold to pull himself up with both hands.

Before Hrothgar could climb up, Obsidion landed at the cliff top and charged over to pull him up. Once standing on a vertical base, Hrothgar turned and glanced back down the cliff for an empty spot in the city below. The crowds were sparse that day leaving plenty of open space for him to just hop on down. Obsidion watched very briefly before turning to follow Kujaku's route to the city below.

Already very rattled from a rough trip, Ciel was too dazed to even notice she might have been in danger from a potentially long fall. As soon as she felt herself leave Hrothgar's hand, she opened her wings and stabilized herself to being right-side up before slowly gliding downward toward the beach below. As her wings did their magic, Ciel grabbed the sides of her head, trying to clear away the dizziness from being carried like a ragdoll across a long expanse of land. Finding a spot near the pier, Ciel landed in an open patch of grass, and slowly slumped to a seated position clutching her belly. I wish I could run a little faster to keep up... Recognizing where she was, she took a deep breath in relief. Well at least I don't have to be carried across the sea.

Kujaku changed his direction a bit as he noticed Ciel drifting downward like a loose leaf toward the ground. Where she stopped seemed pretty close to the docks, which was where he had been heading. Since Ciel looked apparently rattled from the trip out, Kujaku glanced back toward Hrothgar, then back to Ciel again. His pace slowed to a walk as he eventually would catch up to Ciel through the lacking crowds of this area of town, but she did look like she needed a break first. Kujaku was definitely glad he didn't need to be carried from place to place like the small people.

As the world finally stopped spinning, Ciel slowly stood up and took in a deep breath. She cleared her hair from both sides of her face and took a brief look about the small shoreline area, then back toward the inner land area from the water side. The cliff side carve outs and small structures dotting the protected cove were strangely familiar. As Kujaku seemed to be approaching more slowly, beginning to walk toward him, Ciel decided to at least meet him half way or more likely a quarter of the way judging her strides against his.

((Sorry about the long drought. I've been exceedingly lazy lately.))

Hrothgar spent a few hours taking in the city sights. The ledges were easy to reach in a bound, the market wasn't spread out, and the people traveling about left plenty of legroom. For once Hrothgar didn't feel like he was in a small wooden town with fragile posts and walls everywhere. For the lack of rush, Hrothgar felt he was able to get in enough playtime before he eventually started on his way down the slope of the cove toward the docks. Luckily for him, his travel group didn't blend in at all.

Raising his arm high but waving little, Hrothgar called out to Kujaku as he approached. Obsidion trailed behind him as usual, bringing little more than the loud thumps of its steps.

"You late!", Kujaku charged, pointing briefly at Hrothgar before lowering his arm. "Me get boat. It ready, we go any time." He nodded confidently, pointing toward a large sailing ship with his thumb.

"Me know town time good time to wander off, but me wonder where you go?" Kujaku asked Hrothgar with mild curiosity. After having met with Ciel earlier, Kujaku himself had gone for a bit of travel to see town ,at least as much as he could as an ogre. They had even gone so far as to get a snack in the mean time, but Kujaku didn't remember seeing Hrothgar at all during that time which stuck out seeing as the guy was difficult to miss in a crowd of people.

"It's nothing big. Sometimes I go to dig up some information, sometimes I feel like doin a little drinking. Today was a bit of both, which reminds me," Hrothgar went fishing for something over his shouder and quickly drew a small barrel from his travel pack, "I got some Omgitt Rum. Stuff is at a premium thanks to the war. The prices might be too high in only a week or two." After putting away the barrel, Hrothgar paced around Kujaku toward the boat he pointed at. "So, are we goin to Ardere Isola? You said 'island to the south', there's only two, the other is a military training ground. Ardere Isola would be a better target if they wanna get things done quick. The king might be crowned before they could break down any resistance at Macto Mare."

Ciel took a few steps around Kujaku to stand between him and Hrothgar before she raised her right hand high in the air, springing up and down a bit to try to get Hrothgar's attention. "But wait, what is on Ardere Isola? It can't be just a barren island in the south seas can it?"

"Indeed it isn't." Hrothgar nodded to Ciel, somewhat annoyed by her antsy movements and hand raising as if they were in some sort of classroom. "Yes, I can see you. Stop that." He mumbled before continuing to both Ciel and Kujaku, "Now most of the island is ruins, but there is talk of a temple with some sort of relic of 'everburning' or something like that. Sounds like too tempting a treat for Fire to pass up." Hrothgar shrugged and paced around to stand in view of the boat as he faced Kujaku, "Anyway, I'm set to go, so give the word."
PostPosted: Mon Jan 17, 2011 10:05 pm

"Me see, We go to Ardere Isola then. Me want see relic for self." After nodding in agreement with the plan, Kujaku beckoned Hrothgar and Ciel before he approached the pier and boarded his ship. Conveniently but not particularly surprising, the small boat's lone crewman was a rather salty looking orc. He said a few things to the captain in muffled orcish before returning to the boarding plank and waiting by the rope that secured the ship in dock.

Rather than taking the scenic route, Hrothgar paced toward the stern of the ship, and grasped the corner of the ship, using it to hop up onto the deck. As he landed, he spun himself to a suitable seated position at the corner before pointing to the bow with a smug grin. "Well, then lets get moving. The sooner we get there, the sooner we can prepare."

Obsidion, picked up Ciel as it approached the ship. It placed her upon the ship and paced around the boarding plank, continuing until it reached the edge of the pier. Blatantly stepping off, Obsidion left a rather large splash, rocking the boat as it dropped into the sea. Being of very heavy rock, Obsidion sank quickly out of view.
