Aras opened her mouth to protest, but she closed it again and simply nodded, letting Rhea take his half of the shirt once more. She wanted him to do well ... and carrying the shirt was only going to make it harder for him.
Well, she would do what she could for him when the opportunity arose, and she would encourage him every step of the way.

Rhea turned to smile up at Aras stumbling slightly and almost dropping his part of the of the shirt but he pulled it up. "Soorrry" he said softly and then looked back down at his feet.
He started to get out of breath now that he was struggling to stay on two legs.

Aras gasped and jerked to step towards Rhea as he tripped, but when he caught his balance once more she relaxed and stepped back again, walking slowly.
"It's all right," she smiled at him reassuringly. "Just take your time ... be careful ... don't hurt yourself, okay? You can do it, I know you can!"
Corrah heard the commotion and looked over his shoulder to see how the children were doing. Seeing that ARas and Rhea were lagging behind a bit, he slowed his pace accordingly. He would not let them get lost - not yet, anyways.

Rhea nods, "Thank yoou." he said softly and looked up at her greatful for the slower pace again. He sighed and still looking very sad his ears flat. As soon as Corrah stopped walking with them he would so be back on all fours.
Kanis bit her lip and does not turn. She did not think it was right to watch others in their failing even if it would help them. But Rhea had someone encouraging him as well as pushing him so he did not need more eyes on him.

It was a long way back to the cave where they had left their things - or at least, it felt that way to Aras, though her breath was slowly coming back to her - and when they arrived, she helped Rhea to set down their sticks in a small pile right next to her bag, watching him anxiously to see how he was holding up.
Corrah waited outside of the small cavern for them.
"Take a moment, rest," he told them softly. "We will be leaving again in a while ..."

As soon as they set the wood down Rhea dropped to all fours to carry it to the spots they needed to be. He wanted to make sure that Aras would be very comfortable when he went back to his home with Armus and Corrah when the day was over.
Kanis moved into the cavern and lay her leaves down and moved to start getting her bag free. She smiled and left a small item inside the bag and then moved out with a mostly empty bag.

Aras smiled and helped Rhea, though she didn't really know what she was doing - it looked like Rhea did, though, so she just followed him around.
"Can you tell me what you're doing?" she asked him softly, her eyes curious. "Maybe we could make a frame for a bed out of the sticks too ..."
Well, if they brought enough, anyways.

Rhea nods maybe they could make a bed frame. Hemoved to root threw the sticks to find the longest ones then laid them out in a rectangle like shape.
Now that he was on all fours his ears were back up and his tail wagged. "Bigger..." he said knowing that they would need bigger sticks. But that did not get him down he just padded over and nuzzled Aras' side.
Kanis walked out of the caverns with her bag across her back. She was ready to go back now.

Aras giggled and patted Rhea on the head, then bent over to hug him, and then bent even further to pick up his now empty shirt.
"Right, back we go!" she said cheerfully, reaching down to take his hand in hers so that she could help him walk again. She knew Corrah would want him to keep trying - she just hoped that once Rhea got too tired, Corrah would let him walk normally.
Corrah was sitting on a fallen log, watching the children, his icy blue eyes entirely void of emotion.
"Ready to continue?" he asked in a dull, soft tone.

Rhea nods and then looked confused as Aras took his hand and pulled him up. He hated walking like this. His ears lowered again and he sighed, "Go.."
He hand moved up to hold onto Aras' arm leaning into her lightly. He was rather tall for a surprise.
Kanis nods, "Yes sir...all ready."
Ruran nods and moved towards the trees again.

As night fell over the mountain, Corrah sat with his back to a tree, just a short distance from the cavern where the children would be sleeping, watching them closely. He had brought them food - cuts of his hunt from the afternoon, while he had let them wander on their own. Now he was watching them settle down for the night.
Armus appeared out of the trees behind Corrah and knelt beside him, squatting on one heel and watching the children silently. After a few moments, she murmured, "How do you think they'll do?"
Corrah watched as they went about making their beds and trying to build their fires.
"With time," he replied equally softly, "they will do just fine."
Armus smiled warmly, her eyes shining softly, reflecting the colours of the sunset.
Aras was smoothing out her blanket over her bed of leaves which, thanks to Rhea's help, was quite large and quite comfortable. He had helped her all through the day, and she had likewise helped him with his walking, and now both of them were quite exhausted.

Kanis built a small slightly smokey fire. She had a small bed that she hand mad e out of her cloak and blanket. She was heating up the food Corrah and left them and was looking around the night wondering if she could find him. She had wanted to give Corrah a little something to thank him for everything. But he had disappeared too quickly that afternoon.
Rhea smiled laying next to Aras' bed. His head resting just on the edge of it as he watched the fire. Aras had done so well. His back legs were killing him.
"No two legs..." he said softly and nuzzled the fresh smelling bed.

Aras giggled softly and stroked Rhea's hair tenderly as she poked at the fire the two of them had started together. She was proud of him, proud of the way he had tried so hard to do something he obviously didn't want to do at all.
"We'll rest well tonight," she smiled at him, using one hand to fold a leaf around a bite-sized piece of meat and setting it right at the edge of the fire. "And tomorrow we'll have fun all over again."

Rhea nods and sighed. He would not be staying the night with Aras...the human side of him though it would still be innocent, knew it would be wrong because he liked to cuddle and even that day his own mother had thrown him from the bed.
"Arrras always fun..." he said gently smiling at her strokes to his head.
Kanis found where Corrah and Armus were hiding. She didn't really want to ask her question in front of anyone so she would just have to wait. She started to eat her food looking at the fire. She would go to bed soon so she could let her tired body rest and she would have the energy for the morning.

Aras giggled again and leaned against Rhea, her eyelids drooping despite her growling stomach and aching legs.
"And you are, too, Rhea," she murmured softly, her fingers moving to stroke the soft fur of his ear instead of his hair. "I think it's easier, going through all of this, with you here to help me ... you make it fun."
Armus watched the children for only a few more moments, then, a shadow in the growing darkness, she rose to her feet and vanished once more into the trees.
Corrah, now alone, still didn't move: he remained where he was, watching the children not only to see how they were doing, but also to make sure their fires didn't spread, and that they would extinguish them before going to sleep.
If they could sleep. He knew he had worked them hard, and he knew that he would work them just as hard the next day, and the day after, and the day after that. They would get used to it eventually, and it would only make them stronger.
