Personally, I can't believe you still remember that. I've always liked Tennant. You forget there was a bit of a war when those Ten Doctors Games were going...Us against Velvetnight.. biggrin

All I remember is Tennant usually getting clobbered fast after taking hits from a mob Colin Baker Groupies and Roobarb (who didn't like DT much at the time). cry

Anyway, the article below is from the comic book gossip column, Lying in the Gutters (not the most reliable of sources, admittedly). Includes a sort of potential spoiler, maybe, so I'm whiting the text out.

So was David Tennant's leaving the show all down to his need to move on? A now or never thing? Not quite. He had been in negotiations with the BBC for a fifth, even a sixth full series, but wanted another 2009-lite Doctor Who break in 2011, a film pursued, and money above the current BBC wage cap. It didn't happen.

The one bigger casualty, as well as casting for The Doctor sooner than expected, has been an arc in Series Five for the River Song character, revealed in Series 4 as the Doctor's possible future wife. Arc plans are being rewritten, but the new team has plenty of time...

As for Paterson Joseph, the positive response that rumour has received has pleased a lot of people, especially the lack of expected "you can't have a black Doctor" responses.

I hear that Paterson Joseph, Sean Pertwee and Marc Warren are the three main contenders. But that right now Paterson is still the favourite.

But I'd also like to remind all and sundry that, according to "Doctor Who Magazine" editor Clayton Hickman, Bill Nighy was Russell T Davies' favourite for the role back in 2005. And that went nowhere.

Edit: What the heck's up with the quote system?!

All I can say is It may be hard for now but Get over it. Think of all the good stories hes had and the books that continue his storys beyond the show. Those count as apart of his adventures (as long as they were releaced by the BBC) So really he has had alot of adventures during his time as Doctor. And besides the 9th Doctor was my first and I wasent overly Fond of him but 10th Doctor wow he remined me so much of Tom Baker ( wonce I satarted to watch doctor who I went back and watched old episodes. I also like Peter Davidsone [5th doctor] but I digress) but thats the Whole Point of Doctor Who. The doctor Changes and becomes a new person but hes still the same. Same character different body thats why the show is so Brilliant (as the 10th doctor would say) So why cant we all just hope that the 11th dose well and stop crying over the fact that David Is leaving. Like honstly. And look foward to the fact that roomers say that John Simm (he played the master in series 3) Will be comming back in one of the speshals.

(P.S. If they dont do one of the speshals with River Song they might do a Novle. Just a thought)

It's not letting you add the "name" option. Who knows why.. That article..well, I'd probably prefer not to believe it..

I can remember..hm...a flash animation..I wonder if I still have that? I KNOW I still have a folder under doctor who marked 'disturbing'...

I had to break the news to my friend who just started Doctor Who. He was suprised and was really sad that he was leaving. I am sad as well. I would probably get over if the new Doctor is as funny as Tom Baker or David Tennant.

I think the worst thing will be having to watch him die... for real. I mean, technically, he'll still be alive, but TEN will be no more. He's escaped certain death at the last possible second so many times before, and knowing that this time... he won't be able to escape... I'm gonna cry! crying *is obviously completely depressed about the whole thing*

Seriously... He's gonna have to die in a super sad and awesome self sacrificial way like Five did... Only even more sad and awesome. And big. And maybe bring back the Time Lords in the process. Then I might be sort of ok with it. ninja

Yea he's definitely going to go out with a bang (hee hee word pun [don't blame me, saw that on a magazine cover at the shops...])

No doubt about it, I'm just wondering what they've got planned... yeh he's always got these kinda ... well, sad things happening, you know, he's sort of... the sad doctor. self-sacrafice too, yea. So it could just be a combination of the two, but I'd like to think they'd go for something different and make it a tad happy for once, you know, bittersweet or something? I don't know, have to wait and see.
