Kanis was confused and took the bag watching Armus run off. They were so together almost as if they shared one mind. She watched in awe then seeing the woman place a large branch in Corrah's hand she grew more confused.

Hearing his cold words she felt a bit of fear filling her. She held a gasp from sounding as the branch splintered. She had not done wrong but his warning sunk deep into her. She would never go against him...in any way.

Ruran's eyes grew wide and he seemed to get a bit nervous, "Your really sick you know that...I am not going to say sorry even if you do that to me." He winced and growling moved his hand to his shirt. "Put me down you stupid pervert!"

Aras stopped mid-chew and stared, eyes wide as she stared at Corrah in a mixture of awe and fear. Yes ... she would be good. She wouldn't ever do anything to make him want to do that to her!

Corrah opened his hand - not the one holding Ruran - and a handful of splinters fell to the ground. He brushed the remaining splinters from his hand with his thumb, raising Ruran a little higher into the air.

"I am not asking you to say sorry," he told Ruran calmly, though there was an anger beneath his calm exterior that radiated through his bright blue eyes. "I am simply telling you to find a way down from where you are."

His eyes narrowed slightly. "Though I do have one question for you. What give you the right to call me sick, or stupid, or perverted, or any combination thereof? You worthless s**t, you really aren't worth the trouble ... and if this weren't personal now, I would throw you away like the trash you are."

Falling from this height, Ruran would break his legs: being thrown by Corrah, he would probably break a whole lot more.

Armus folded her arms across her chest and stood straight, feet slightly apart, a soldier's stance, staring in concentration at Ruran as he struggled in Corrah's grip. She was entirely serious now, all traces of her previous merriment gone. Her usually warm blue eyes were cold now, and she made no move to comfort the girls, who she knew had been frightened.

The time for comfort would come. Right now was the time for lessons.

Ruran glared even more he was not enjoying being humiliated in front of his pathetic sisters. His body tensed even more and his eyes seemed to grow more white.

"And why should I try to get down. IF you don't want to train me then put me on the ground and let me just go back home. If I am not worth your time then just just get rid of me." He turned his gaze from the man to his sisters, "I saw your gentle touch to my sisters and how you only train girls I am the first boy you are gracing with your training."

Kanis looked down at the ground and just listened. She didn't want to see him getting punished listening was good enough.

"I don't care one way or the other about training you anymore," Corrah replied in a tone that sounded almost bored, though his grip didn't change one bit. "You want to go home? Fine. Get down on your own and go home on your own. None of us will go with you, your parents are probably halfway there already, and this area is filled with wolves, bears, mountain lions ... you name it. You think I'm going to be gentle with your sisters?"

He laughed, but it was far from a nice laugh.

"You have no idea ... how intense ... their training is going to be. Honestly I don't think you can hack it. But I reiterate: if you want to go home, then go. I don't care. I don't think you'll make it, but I'm not going to stop you from trying. But if you want to go anywhere, or do anything, you're going to have to get down from there."

He was actually starting to feel amused. How hard was it to figure out the only way down from there? All the kid had to do was swallow his pride, show a little respect, even if it was fake, and ask politely. Yes it would be humiliating for him but that was the point. Was he really so proud, so stubborn, and so angry that he couldn't even do that?

Ruran smirked, "Oh I am sure it would not be soft and gentle when you take their beds!" He was not going to be the only one getting humiliated or angry. "Well then I guess we will just be here all night. I am not going to grant your wish and willingly give up.!"

Kanis sighed. Why wouldn't Ruran just give in she would not care about him a bit. It would be best if they could just move on. He was ruining thier training. Why was he so selfish!

Corrah laughed again, the same eerie laugh, but other than that he didn't move a muscle.

"And you say that I'm the pervert?" he questioned the boy, his eyes flashing dangerously. "I think you're a little young to be thinking about a woman's bed, boy - and your sisters are just kids, just like you. If you think I would take their beds, or have them come to mine, then you really are filth."

Still he didn't blink.

"And I'm more than happy to wait here for the night," he added in a challenging tone. "If you want to test my limits, boy, you have to do a lot better than that."

Aras looked up at Armus to see if she would help with something, but still the woman didn't make a move. Aras was worried about her brother. Sure, he hated her, and sure he treated her badly, but he was still her brother and she loved him anyways.

Armus glanced down at Kanis and Aras and saw their discomfort - or annoyance, it seemed in Kanis's case.

"Want to head up the mountain?" she asked them, raising one eyebrow. "I have the feeling Corrah and your brother are going to be here for a long time."

Ruran laughed and shook his head, "OH I am not thinking of their beds...they will never be worthy of sharing a bed with me or any man for that matter!" He shrugged adjusting his arms again, "Now why would I want to try and test you...I don't care!"

He was too young to have any of the feelings or wants of an adult but he knew what it ment. He had watched his parents enough to know how these things worked.

And as angry as he got it still seemed he would not jump to please Corrah.

Kanis looked up at Armus, "It is your call ma'am....we can stay if you like but...well my brother will not say anything or do anything with Aras and me here. But we do not have to go up if you wish to watch."

Armus smiled at Kanis, then laughed.

"Oh, I don't care of he hangs there for a week or if he finally gets smart and gets himself down in the next ten seconds," she assured Kanis, "it's just that he's so stubborn there's really no point in waiting, so we might as well head up and get started with your own training, so that he won't hold you back."

Aras blinked at Armus. "You think it's really okay to leave him here like that?"

Armus nodded, grinning. "I was like that for nearly four days, remember," she winked at the girl. "He'll live. He'll just be all kinds of sore when he gets out of there."

Corrah still didn't move, neither his arm nor his eyes. "You say that you do not care," he said in a low tone, "but the more stubborn you are, the more harm you are inflicting to your body. The more you fidget or struggle, the more your clothes will dig into your armpits, and there is every chance that very soon the circulation to your arms will be cut off ... and then your fingers will go numb ... and then your arms ... and then they will swell ... and become unusable ..."

He really didn't care about Ruran pleasing him. He couldn't please him even if he begged. Right now it was just get get the kid off his high horse.

Ruran turned his head to look away from Corrah but did not say anything. He just hung there his fingers were already going numb.

Kanis nods, "Alright ma'am....I guess we should head up then." she said softly and stood up holding out the bag of berries. She looked at her brother and the dark man again. She knew that things were going to be interesting as soon as Ruran sucked it up.

She looked around, "Which way should we go ma'am?"

Armus took the pouch and tied it to her belt, though she left it slightly open so that she could take berries out of it to pass to the girls as they walked.

"This way," she smiled at them. "Follow me."

And she started off towards the trees, in a northerly direction.

Aras followed quickly after her, afraid that she might get left behind and get lost on her own.

Corrah smiled inwardly, though his mouth did not move a single muscle. Yes ... the boy was growing weaker already. He was fully prepared for the incident to last a while longer, though, and he said nothing, only waited patiently, tirelessly.

Kanis nods and jumps off the log to follow Armus. "So where will we be staying?" she asked softly as they walked. She looked around at their surroundings. It was a very beautiful place. She didn't know how such a beautiful place could train them to be true warriors.

Ruran hated the man's face but once he was looking the other way his body relaxed a bit more and he wiggled his fingers. At least the stupid girls were gone now.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 25, 2008 10:36 am

"A few miles from here," Armus replied as the ground grew suddenly steeper. "We've got a sheltered area where we sometimes stay. It doesn't look like it's going to rain tonight, so we should be fine there."

She pointed at a small plant that grew in scattered patches. "Watch out for poison ivy," she told them. "It will give you an itch that can last ... for as long as you scratch it."

Aras eyed the plant warily and scurried after Armus.

Corrah could feel the boy suddenly relaxing, but his expression didn't change. It would make no difference. Weight was weight, his hands would still go numb soon enough from the lack of circulation. Still, it told him something about the boy: that he was very proud, and that at least a small part of his bravado was to look tough in front of his sisters, so that he would appear better than them.

That sort of attitude disgusted him.

Kanis nods, "So we will get ther...um.." she tried to think. "By evening?"

She looked at the plant and tried to commit it to memory. They were going to learn so much...she would really have to pay attention and work hard on remembering things. Posion Ivy....and don't touch or scratch.

Ruran continued to hang his body still relaxed. He wondered if he should try and anger the man again maybe he would really give up on him and just throw him to the ground and Ruran could go back home and beat up on his brother. And hate his mother and father more.

Armus looked over her shoulder at the children, pursing her lips slightly as she thought about it. Alone she would have been there within the hour - but yes, they were very small ... and thus, slow.

"By evening," she agreed finally. "And it's all uphill ... but let me know if you need to rest. You'll be doing this climb every day you come here, and it's the first part of your training. Endurance. More important than anything else. If you're fast and skilled it means nothing if you're tired within moments of starting a fight. You would still lose."

Corrah continued to stare, unblinking, at Ruran, his grip never loosening, his arm never wavering. He hadn't even begun to tire, and wouldn't for a while. He had trained himself to do this and he was very good at what he did.

Kanis remembered her father saying that they needed to work on endurance so they could run longer. She smiled and her face got set in determination. She would make it up the hill before the sun started to set!

"Yes ma'am, we will walk this path one a day or once a week?" She asked softly.

Ruran started to grow bored and his little perverted mind started to move different places. He would not get to spy on his parents this night...and the only things for him to see were his two piece of crap sisters, an unattractive fighter female and a perverted man. He rolled his eyes wondering when Idhril would return to him.
