She nodded, looking curiously at the envelope, then listened to his explanation.
"Oh, now I understand why I thought to know your robes. The Yel'lenidash, a Siren clan from the North, sometimes trade with your monastery - and then send one thing or another to us.
You said you'll be my guide? That means I can't say no then?" Her smile broadened and she winked.
"I'd be pleased to be your guest - and taste the famous Guldorian ice wine." She opened the envelop to see when exactly the festival was to begin.

Upon the little invitation, there were sharp scratches of a feathered quill pen, it stated a date for the festival, that being 4 days from today. However, was it even possible to travel such a distance in such a small amount of time? Not only that, however, but the day before the wine tasting, those who would arrive early, would be brought on a tour of the area. At the end of the festival, the guests would be sent back with a portion of this year's brew.
With a smile on his face, before the woman would be able to ask questions about the limited amount of time there was to travel, Hul would speak, "We'll set out tomorrow, that is, if you'd like a tour of the monastery a day before. If not, then I'll come back in two days time."

After quickly reading over the message Lucind looked at Hul.
"I'm definitely interested in the tour. - How do we travel?" She was used to take a taxi-dragon for longer distances and wondered how the monk made his way to Latent.

"Well we could take a boat from here to a dock in Guldor. And instead of several days, the trip should just take most of the day. You see, the vessel we travel on is enchanted by magic, so a long trip will actually be very short. Of course, theres always the alternative of teleportation, only its extremely disorienting and the slight chances of failure would prove to be fatal, so this is the safest way." Hul explained, and going by his own experiences, he would have gone with the boat.
"We'll rest in the dock town we land in, one of the small fishing villages we trade with, for the night, and in the morning, we'll set out to the monastery by foot." He finished. It only made sense that they travel by foot, as the location of the monastery was secret, and even then, if they travelled with a dogsled or something else, they had nowhere to put them.
"Any other questions?" he asked, waiting for a response before he made his leave so that the woman could prepare for tomorrow.

"Ah... I see. Guess the ship's then the more comfortable and securer way."
She folded the invitation and shoved it back into the envelope, thinking about Hul's last question.
"I just have to gather some warm clothes. And my boots...should directly send a message to Granny...." Realizing she spoke to herself Lucind addressed Hul.
"Is it okay when I take weapons with me? That would be my staff, as it is always with me and two short blades. Not that I need them at your monastery, but the ice world has it's dangers in store, as far as I'm informed..."

"Heh, I doubt you'd need such weapons in the tundra. True, it is a dangerous place, but the battle is usually fought against the weather and elements rather than a pack of orcs. The path we'll be travelling will be safe." He replied with a hint of amusement at her caution, "But if you insist, then I hope you don't plan to use them."
He reached up to his collar with both arms and flipped the cowl back onto his head. "I'll come back tomorrow then when you are prepared for the trip." he said, "Oh, and you dont need to take too much with you, we'll be going through the tundra on foot." he added.
"Well, nice to make your acquaintance," Hul said with a bow as he folded his hands in the sleeves of his robes, "I'll come back tomorrow."
And with that done, he turned about and headed towards the door to make his exit into the busy streets of Latent.

She simply nodded when he had answered. "Okay. See you tomorrow then. Have a nice day^^"
Her eyes followed the blue clad figure through the store's front windows, although she was already thinking about what she should really take with her. Of course he was right, too much baggage would be only restricting.
A grin spread over her face. For a moment a scene appeared in her mind, she was loaded with bags and cases full of clothes and cosmetic articles: I'm a woman - did you expect anything else...??! She chuckled and shook her head.
Still she needed her fur coat and the heavy boots for wandering through the cold. Therefore Lucind walked behind the counter, through the kitchen into the tiny office to call Sarah. By the late evening, a messenger brought the needed things.
The next morning she woke up early. Sitting on her bed with a coffee and the newspaper she pondered if there was anything else she sould stuff into her backpack. An hour later she helped the others serving the first customers and waited for Hul.

Mid morning. The sun shone with a jolly light as the young monk came around the corner and stepped into the building. He wore the exact same thing as the day before, thick light blue robes, even though the weather was fairly nice in Latent. It seemed as though he didnt carry anything with him on the trip, quite peculiar if one was to take any note of this.
"Good morning, m'lady." he spoke rather formally, "Are you ready to set out now, or do you need more time?" he asked.

"Good morning, Hul. - I'm ready. Just a moment, please."
She vanished for a couple of minutes. When she came back, giving last instructions to her staff, she was wearing a light jacket, while the coat was fastened in a tight bundle on top of her backpack. On her feet she wore the boots - they were made of a mixture of natural and synthetic fibres, a pair of modern boots which ensured she wouldn't get hot feet in them even when she used them in a normal terrain.
Lucind noticed indeed that the young monk seemed to take nothing else with him except from his clothes, but she didn't comment on it.

"Then please, follow me." he said as he turned about and exited the building as the woman followed, holding the door open for her as they left the building and took to the streets.
It seemed that Hul knew very well where he was going, as he moved through the light traffic in the morning briskly until he entered the docks. Now, with rows upon rows of boats, he just had to get to the one he wanted to get to.
He stopped at a mid sized boat, almost like a yacht, and upon it, there were a few other people, crew and other travellers. "This is the boat I came to Latent on. It's fast, powered by magic I believe, and the captain and crew use it for touring purposes as it can travel quickly to specific destinations, as well as providing the occasional lift for us of course, like now." he explained as he boarded the boat, the woman following behind.
Now, through the rest of the day, the trip through the waves would be very quick. During that time, Hul would share information about the monastery, such as a basic layout of the area, some wines that they produced there, and the time it takes for the grapes to be harvested.
As they arrived at a small fishing village, they would enter a humble inn, the time of day close to sun set, as the yacht would then leave, taking other travellers to different destinations. "We'll travel to the monastery in the morning. It's much too cold at night as without the sun, the temperature drops drastically in the empty and frozen plains." he explained as he ate dinner, a bowl of local fish stew flavoured with seaweed and a little bit of imported spices. It seemed as the owners of the business were expecting the young monk and the woman, as they would already have rooms lined up for them. Perhaps Hul had spent the previous days planning such conveniences, or perhaps it was someone else.

Vince Mercy "If I may...what do you know about the one called Maximos? I heard he was killed during the destruction of the stadium. He was an interesting creature...person, i should say." He said, correcting himself. He sighed softly. "I have heard stories of what he has done...but i would have loved to meet him, find out who he was and...what he was. As far as i could glean, he seemed to be like you - made entirely out of water. For the life of me i cannot explain how that is...besides devine intervention, much like yourself."Placing his pipe to his mouth, puffing on it slowly, he clasped his hands, looking down at his knuckles as he spoke quietly. "There are so many things that i cannot explain...and it irritates me. I'm sorry if i'm intruding on any personal grounds with my questions...i'm generally inquisitive by nature, i suppose..." ((100th post in Petra's thread! Booyaka!)) *Enki smiles softly again and shakes his head to the statement*
No, no. It's quite all right. I am quite curious by nature myself, or at least the human part of me is. Maximos... was like a brother to me. He was not water at all, though, he is a creature created from shadows who hails from another dimension all together. He was a very nice man who commanded much respect umong almost all he met. Though, from what I've heard, he did very terrible things in the past. It was fate alone that had us meet and become so close and I will charish every memory I had of the man

Is it true that, in their first battle, the man called Johnathen Tomorrow and Maximos destroyed a good portion of the outskirts of Barton? If my memory serves me well, reports tell of a giant black demon with a scythe facing off against a great ball of electricity...that would have been a sight to see."Vincent now shifted in his seat, his eyes wide with something bordering on excitement. "You see, although i cannot fight myself, i find fighters facinating, the Greats in particular. Uplifting stuff, to hear about the private wars waged in the arena grounds, like the Romans or the Greeks. Recorded fights between Tomorrow and Maximos are quite a sight to behold - and there are rumours of unoffical bouts that shook the very earth! The stuff of gods, you might say! Tell me, what do you know about Tomorrow? I heard his greatest challenge was in defeating the Darkness in fair combat just once. The man has beaten the great Flame, but failed in every attempt to bring Maximos to the floor. Why do you think that is?"

The shipping was a pleasant experience - of course, one should say, due to Lucind's affinity to the sea and water in general. She also tried to find out what kind of magic enabled the ship to gain such speed. And Hul was a good guide and companion with his friendly, calm nature. Therefore, she was in a good, relaxed mood when they arrived at the inn.
Lucind sat opposite to him, finished with her small portion of stew and now sipping on spicy tea, leaning back on her chair. "Nee Hul, how long have you been living at the monastery..if you don't my asking." Her amber eyes calmy rested on the man's frame.

All I know of him is that he is a barbarian berserker who has an unusually high amount of electrical current running through his body... I don't tend to give two shits about that "man..."

Enki Leviathan *Enki narrowed his eyes slightly and looks back down at the pipe as he speaks, a little less enthusiastic now* All I know of him is that he is a barbarian berserker who has an unusually high amount of electrical current running through his body... I don't tend to give two shits about that "man..." Vincent blinked, noting the slight savagery in Enki's words. "...Mr. Leviathan, surely such words are not appropriate. I have heard of Mr. Tomorrow's...rather backward ways, but even so, all people are equal." He smirked as he puffed his pipe. "Some more then others, of course..."A small, mischevious glint had appeared in his eyes. "I wonder...exactly what has caused you to speak so harshly about this 'barbarian berserker'? Is it the countless times he has dragged your daughter - i'm sorry, daughters - into harms way? Perhaps his blatant disregard for people's lives? Was it the way he thinks of your 'GSF'? Or was it when he stole all three of your women's hearts?"He cleared his throat then, blinking hard for a moment as he looked down at his pipe with mild confusion. "Hmph...I may have put a little too much Mercy in..."
