FLYING WATER OF DOOM!

So, opaj had intended for one thing to happen but got the exact opposite. In the land of OOC, many people were loling at the pure slapstick humor.

Sorakaji
The water dropped onto the two men, soaking them and all of their weapons.

The water katana had been reduced to a Slip and Slide; and it would be a most dangerous Slip and Slide. Spooky was about to bend down and examine the curious VC when a thin wall of water landed on them. Spraying him entirely under the shower of disgusting sewer waster, and forcing him to gag from the potent smell. It also, stirred him out of the Vietnam era, and back into the current time and place. Spooky was slightly confused as he quickly gained his bearings, getting back up straight and reloading his weapon once more. It was a two second process, and the time that the three had left was dwindling. His cold and callous persona had once more vacated the previous almost naive and innocent one. The soldier was ticked, he didn't even need to guess that the water had ruined his pack of Djarum cigarettes. Essentially, they had just signed their own death warrant as he was probably going to gouge out their eyeballs and skull ******** the lot. Water slid down the barrel of his M4 as walked towards them, no emotion could be read through the pale face of the soldier. He was ticked, ticked in that way you knew your dad was without making it obvious with curses or open negativity. This was the worst kind of anger. It had also been several minutes since the original blinding light had appeared, meaning it was probably going to die out very soon.

And they had stopped running?

Did they just want to die?

Spooky considered that, as he approached their current position with the rifle raised and rearing to kill once again.

Colin, reaching into his pack to grab another clip for his GUN, would receive a very wet, very foul slap of sewage to the face. Not very happy at this gift of peace, Colin would grab the clip, eject the spent one, and reload his gun. Slowly but swiftly, Colin would walk up to Spooky and tap his shoulder. Handing him back his pistol, Colin would proceed to pull out his stun grenade and, pulling the spoon, motioned with his head for Spooky to cover his ears.

One Mississippi. Two Mississippi. Three Mississippi.

A five-second fuse, the grenade would leave Colin's hand in a bank-shot around the corner, bouncing off the wall and went off in mid-air.

FOOM

The sound from the grenade would have no effect on Colin and Spooky, for they would have both covered their ears in expectation of the bang to come. Odds are, the trio of persons around the bend would get an ear-full of sonic waves, disorienting them.

And then the heat would be brought.

Colin would round the corner, MP5 set on triple-round burst, stock un-folded, and aim.

taptaptap. taptaptap. taptaptap.

Aiming for the chest, he'd shoot towards Jubilee the light manipulator, then Swordy McGee, then Mrs. Waterjug.

"Guh... thank god for this thing."

James was pretty grateful at this point that the mask he was wearing had a filter on it. It managed to significantly reduce the overwhelming stench of semi-stagnant sewer water to something pretty tolerable. Eileen was similarly lucky... being unconscious and all. No need to deal with the smell.

At first he had been continually glancing behind him in the pipe to make sure no one was following him... or perhaps to see if there was someone there. The missing teammate, with any luck. No such thing happened, though, and after a few hundred yards in the pipes he was confident enough in holstering the pistol he had been carrying in his free hand and using it to shift Eileen's weight a little to make her more manageable. He did not, however, put away the knife that was in his other hand. Both for insurance... and because he wasn't sure how long Eileen would be out of it.

Hostages don't tend to behave as well when they're not being threatened or restrained.

(( Getting closer... not there yet. ))

[ O O C : ] Sora, you have to wait. Post order requires that Red posts (which he did) then Opaj, then you and then Angel.]

Ah, the bliss of disorientation. The deafening rush of ear-busting sound waves. He should've seen it coming, but if he had, he'd be blind too, wouldn't he?

Gritting his teeth, opaj drowned out his sense of hearing, that incessant ringing that filled his skull, and let his eyes unfocus. He was using a different sense, and he could feel Colin's approach.

As Colin rounded the corner, opaj would shoot forward with blinding speed, sweeping his katana horizontally at the arm he held his gun with. He would position himself so that Colin was between him and Spooky, as well.

In his back, an x-shaped cut opened up, the price of his burst of inhuman speed.

s**t was going down further ahead, and here James was just making travel posts by trudging through the sewers.

It wouldn't make much sense for him to travel all that distance so quickly, seeing as how opaj's group were fleeing from the Kitten Hats pair the whole time that the standoff in the portal room had been taking place. For him to catch up to them soon he would have had to run, but instead he was carrying an unconscious girl with him and didn't have that luxury.

Five or six travel posts would have been more than enough to traverse any other thread. Hell, one or two was usually sufficient. However, it didn't make a lick of sense that James would have gone straight past them or even beaten them to the end of the tunnel when he was following behind and at a slower pace. Therefore, he was arguably trapped in the sewers between where he had come from and where he was going until there was some sort of resolution up ahead...

...or until he caught up with the tail end of the group.

Not quite there yet, though. James shifted Eileen's weight because his shoulder was getting a little sore. It helped a little that he was starting to feel numb, though. The pain was a bit dulled. He hadn't been taking painkillers or anything, but the firey blast from earlier had eaten through what little reservoir of metaphysical strength he had left and he was beginning to feel the effects of it.

Numbness, stiffness, in general he was feeling a little bit distant from his own body at this point. It would only get worse if he used more than he had already... damnitall. And here he'd been hearing all these years that this magic s**t was a cakewalk. Seemed like more of a hassle to him.

(( Filler! ))

Angel chewed nervously on her bottom lip. Her ear had twitched at the sound of a grenade being released. She heard the click, followed by the sound of it reverberating off the wall. "Watch out!" Her hand came up putting a shield around her, but it had been too late for opaj or Gaby. The grenade would go off, and for once she wouldn't be the one getting harmed.

As the shield dropped she stepped to the side, leaning tightly against the wall to keep away from anymore gunfire. However, sparks of electricity sparked at the tips of her fingers. Then she tossed her arm out, unleashing a ball of light at Colin, aiming at his chest, just as opaj attacked him. If the ball hit it would render him helpless for a couple of minutes, which would be enough time for opaj.

((No clue, but opaj said I could post, so I am. Also, I'm going afk for about 45 minutes, so opaj has control/auto-follow, whatever, on Angel.))

Gaby had just been about to use the last remaining water in her wooden barrell in order to make an actual attack on the two dudes with guns, when she found herself suddenly deafened and disoriented. She let go of the water again, knowing that she would have to think of something else.

((Hm, I'm going to preempt the likely future complaints of Angel missing the point of the flash-bang grenade, and say that we can null her last attack and simply have her go super-stealth if Red wants.))

Hey, you sumbitches! We've got a rathin' problem! Remember those damned robozombies? Well, they're back, with a whole lot of them to spare! If any of you bastards are gettin' this, get yer asses to the Water Plant and regroup there! Over!

Inner monologue time? Seemed like it, since the only things that were changing about the tunnel that James was trudging through seemed to be how frequently he heard the sounds of commotion echoing ahead.

There was plenty of time to think and ponder the meaning of life and all that bullshit. Problem was, he wasn't doing anything like that. Instead what kept going through James' head over and over and over again was just... this.

Seriously. OUT OF PLACE.

Though from the volume of the echoes he was getting a lot closer... a few more turns in the pipe maybe. Maybe. It depended entirely on how far these echoes really carried.

A flash of light from ahead answered his question when the flashbang went off, illuminating a tunnel with light reflected off of the water. They were close now...

James reached for his gun again.
