I had no idea that people were so averse to the idea of menstrual cups. I know it's a topic that many find uncomfortable, but I hadn't expected that you'd get that kind of backlash. eek

I currently use the Keeper cup, but am thinking of switching to a different one. I love the cup, but due to some issues over the past couple months I am thinking of a change.

I just looked them up, they seem like the best solution for me. I also found that they are sold in The Natural Living Center in Bangor, my friend and I had already planned on going to the thrift store this Friday.
You guys are so happy with it I'm just going to have-ta check it out. C:

Ellavemia That's so cool! I guess it didn't catch on immediately. Probably had a dedicated underground community. The early ads for Kotex and Tampax really prey on females. From the ads, you're told to buy the product (outright), and I'm guessing that the consumer base believed companies were acting in their best interest and thus bought the advertised product. Well, I've had my cup for about two weeks shy of a year now, and I've never even thought of going back! And it still works perfectly fine, a slight yellowish discoloration, no odor. The only problem I ever have is when people ask me if I have an extra tampon or pad! "Um, no....I don't use those!"

I just bought my DivaCup last weekend and I'm totally excited to use it! I'm also completely tickled by the cute little drawstring bag it comes with...definitely made me squee. I'm pretty shameless about my body so I can't see me being the least bit squeamish about having to wash it out in a public bathroom; also with my typical 8-10 hour work days I can generally avoid it altogether if my flow is light enough to leave it to the twelve hour max.
I can't wait to pop back in and update on my experiences with it after next week! whee

I have The Keeper. I like it well enough, but the suction that holds it in place created negative pressure and harmed my IUD. Now that I don't have an IUD, I use it all the time.

I'm going to be getting an IUD, so it'll be interesting. Could you tell that the IUD moved?
I'm going to switch from my Diva Cup. I use it on and off and used it today and am so frustrated. The thing literally gets lost and it's not like I park airplanes up there so I have know idea where it heads off to. confused
I'm thinking of the Keeper. They have a three month return policy so if that one doesn't work I'll look at the Keeper A or one of the Mooncups for the larger diameter.

Do any of you ladies know of a menstrual cup that is smaller than 4.3cm in diameter? Both the Divacup and Mooncup have that measurement as their smaller option. I bought a Diva cup and it would not even fit through the vaginal opening.
Trust me. I followed the instructions and I'm not doing anything wrong. I have a couple Kegel exercise toys; one of them was too big and the other's size was more appropriate for sexual stimulation than actual exercising so both of them are just sitting there unused. Yes, I am THAT TINY.

Where you measured or just figured it out on your own? I found this comparison chart and there's a few that are under the 4.3 cm: http://menstrualcupinfo.wordpress.com/cup-stiffness-comparison-chart/ Oh, and there's this, which I think is from the LiveJournal community:

A few millimeters difference in the cup diameter isn't going to help me. I guess I'll just have to use tampons while swimming then.
