"Can I borrow your pen?" Tim asked, knowing without even checking that he wouldn't have one on him. Kero was taken aback by Bree's question. "Well... I don't know. I'll find some empty birds nest or something. Out in the rain... in the cold... by myself...." He glanced up quickly to see if either one would get the hint, then looked back down, shuffling his feet on unseen ground.

Bree handed Tim her pen, and hugged Kero. She was a sucker for cute things. What was cuter than Kero? Okay, Gryffin, her pet dog, was cuter. But Kero was CCCCUUUUTTEE! "You can stay with me!" she smiled.

Still a little dumbstruck by the fact that a flying toy told him to back down, Steven regained himself soon enough. He was about to interject but thought better of it as he saw that the fight was still going on. So he waited. When it was over, Steven was quick to step in. "Impressive work back there," he greeted the kids, and ignoring the doll. "What type of magic is that?" Despite the remark made by Kero, Steven was still intent on pursuing the topic further.

Ally was right behind Steven as they hurried to see what was happening. Ally watched in awe as she followed the jumping boy and the shouting girls. When SHOT was captured she, like Steven, was eager to find out more. But unlike Steven, Ally was more interested in the adorable floating teddy bear. "Oh so kawaii!" she swooned, "How are you flying like that? How were you talking earlier? Are you magic?" Kero was probably one of the cutest things she had ever seen, and she simply could help herself.

"Choke...ing...me!" Kero struggled out of the hug, gasping for breath. But he was smiling and said, "Thanks Bree. Hope you have pudding at your house." Tim smiled and arched an eyebrow, glad that Bree had stepped up. He wasn't sure he would be able to explain a new plush doll to his parents. He scrawled his name on the Card and handed the pen back to Bree, just as a kid a little older than him stepped up to them. "What type of magic is that?" He asked. "Uh..." Tim blinked, not real sure what to say to this stranger. "Card magic?" He said lamely. An enthusiastic girl bounded up behind the boy, swooning over Kero. Despite his annoyance with the kid, Kero loved being in the spotlight. He put his hand on his chin and with his wisest, coolest looking face said, "I am very powerful magic." The effect, coming from this little doll-thing, was more comic than all-powerful. He turned to the kid and sniffed contemptuously. "If you don't know what kind of magic it is, then you don't need to know what kind of magic it is, kid. Suffice to say, it is way out of your league."

Bree rolled her eyes at Kero's 'Awesome power', and took her pen back. She looked at her card again, then at Kero. "How many cards are there again?" She asked him. She had remembered what Kero had said earlier about the type of magic, but she'd forgotten about the number of cards. She looked at Steven. "Its a mixture of Eastern and Western magic." She said quietly, then turned to walk home. "And no, my 'mom' won't let us have pudding. Or cake, or any sweets. But I sneak 'em in anyways."

Kero stuck his tongue out at Bree. "I heard that! Don't tell him anything else! Fifty-two, by the way." Then the full import of what she said hit him and his mouth dropped open. "Noooo puuuuddiiiing!?" He wailed. He flew over and grabbed Tim's shirt collar. "You HAVE to bring us sweets sometimes!" Timmy blinked. "Promise you'll bring us sweets!!" "Okay! Okay!" Tim put his hands up. "We've got plenty of pudding at my house. I guess I'll bring some by tomorrow." Kero let out a sigh of relief and let go of Tim's shirt. He smiled. "See you tomorrow, then!" And flew after Bree. Tim put the Card into his pocket and turned to the two older kids. "So.... Who're you again?"

"I said I snuck them in." Bree muttered, walking ahead. "And I'm pretty sure a floating stuffed animal won't bode well with my dad." She began to think of how she would walk in. She could lie and say she was on a date, or tell the truth and say she was with a boy... but... Huh? Wasn't the latter a lot like the former? Nah, not really. But the excuse was forming in her head. She put her house key onto the necklace next to the Clow key, and put it around her neck.

Steven held back his urge to smack the smart mouthed toy out of the air like a giant bug, and did his best to ignore the most recent, snide remark. "Pardon me for not introducing myself earlier. My name is Steven, and this is my friend Ally," he said with a relaxed smile, "We were passing by when we heard the commotion, and thought we would see what was going on. And, if I may say so, that was an impressive bit of magic. A little clunky mind you, but still impressive."

"It is a pleasure to meet you," Ally greeted with a short bow, "That girl said that your magic was a mix of Eastern and Western magic, right? Hey Steven, you are well practiced with Eastern magic, so maybe you guys can help each other out." She was giving the two boys one of a small but magnanimous smiles. The kind of smile she gave when she made new friends.

(( Thought that was a clever way to get Tim at Bree's house. Guess not sweatdrop ))
Tim shook his hand and smiled uncertainly. "Thanks? I'm kind of new to this. I'm Timmy, and that's my friend, Bree." He addressed both of them. "So, you two... do magic?" It sounded strange for him; talking about magic like it was this normal thing.

"Don't worry about me," Kero said to Bree, "I've hid in plain sight before, so I'm a pro."

((Bree's just bitter that Kero didn't listen to the whole sentence, she still wants Tim to come over ^.^ )) "Ah." She had walked into the house, she slipped off her shoes, held Kero in her hand, and looked up. A tall thin woman descended upon Bree. "Where were you?" She asked. "With a friend!" "Who?" "Tim." "Where were you?" "At his house!" "..." The woman had caught sight of Bree's necklace. "What's that?" "A necklace." "Who gave it to you?" "Tim." Bree said automatically, the rest of them weren't lies. "Its cheap." "Hey!" "Dump him." Bree shook her head, and pushed past the woman. She headed up the stairs, and went into her bedroom.
