Artemis walked gently up to Gabrielle and put her hand on the young woman's shoulder. When the bard jerked away, the goddess' heart ached. She reached down and healed the young woman that Gabrielle was attending, then turned once again to to blonde.
"I'm so sorry Gabrielle. I know this is hard on you. I'm going to do whatever I can to help, believe me." She helped the other downed Amazon to her feet. "Sadie, are you all right?"
"Yeah, I think so," the red-head answered.
"Go help tend the rest of the wounded until I can get to them, ok?"
The teen nodded and went to carry out her orders.
As Gabrielle looked sullenly up at her, Artemis sighed. "I can't fix everything, but I'll be here for as long as you need me." She turned toward the healer's hut, so she could heal the rest of her wounded Amazons. She didn't usually use her healing powers this much, but this war had been so sudden and senseless, she felt a deep need to give something back. It didn't feel very good to have her chosen so angry with her. She wracked her brain for something more she could do for the young queen.

Ephiny sat down on a pile of depree from one of the ruined huts and put her head in her hands. She had been working for hours now, helping to rebuild the hospice, finding still living Amazons and helping to transport them to the healing grounds, and ordering others to do whatever she couldn't find the time and energy to do with her own hands. She took and deep breath and stood back up, she wanted to find the Amazon's who where in charge of the kitchen and get some food for everyone. She saw the lead cook helping bring water to the Amazons in the hospice and walked up to her.
"Lyra" She nodded. "I want you to find the other cooks and somehow find away to scavage the food we have left and make a large meal for everyone."
Lyra nodded and smiled gravely. "We don't have much Ephiny, but I will do my best."
"Thank you." And the Amazon walked away to find others to help.
Ephiny walked up to one of the Amazons most skilled hunters, and her good friend, Eponin and smiled at her. The woman smiled back with tears in her eyes and they embraced silently for a moment. When they pulled back Ephiny was trying not to cry. "I'm glad your okay..." She whispered and than cleared her throat. "I need you to do your best to go find some food."
Eponin smiled and nodded her head. "Of course, Ephiny." She reached her hand out for a warrior salute and Ephiny took it. "We will talk more later." She said and Ephiny nodded as her friend walked away.
A few beds over Ephiny saw Gabrielle tending to a young wounded Amazon. She decided to walk over and see how her friend was doing.

The battle was over like that?SCyane couldn't believe it and it got worse at the fact that Artemis had showed up.She pulled the metel feather from her foot with a growl before looking at the others and seeing so many hurt and even more dead.Cyane healed her wounds and went towork helping Artemis heal the others.
Once she was done she went to the Goddess of the hunt and spoke to her,"Artemis can I please stay?I don't to wish to leave yet theres so much I want to do,so many I want to help and share my wizdome with"she said as she looked at the other amazons especially Ephiny.She then looked back with tears in her eyes,"Please"she begged.Some of her sisters had tears in thier eyes as well both from losing thier family and the thought that another was leaving as well.Cyame didn't want to leavve them yet not to mention she had to speak to Ephiny and prove to her that she really was Cyane.
Part of her knew that she had no place here thought she hope that she could build a place amongst the others.She begged her sisters who whaited for her in the land of the dead to forgive her and that she would not be back as soon as she thought.

Artemis looked compassionately at Cyane and sighed. She could not have accounted for this war in her plans, and ordinarily, she would not be willing to grant the woman's request. However...
"Cyane, I don't know. You couldn't be queen here. Gabrielle is queen. She also is the partner of the woman who killed you. Could you really live here knowing that?"

"I don't wish to be queen but to have another chance at life,the life I missed out on"she answered softly"As for Xena I have allready forgiven her for what she had done and she knows that.She was being manipulated by Alti and that was what coused my death".
She looked to Xena and Gabrielle and gave a smile along with a nod then to Ephiny to see how she was taking the news that she might be staying.Around them some of the others began to mumer thier wishs that Cyane stayed and a few even said so outloud.

Solari came up and whispered in Artemis' ear, and the goddess chuckled and whispered back. The Amazon grinned and walked away.
"I apologize," Artemis said as she turned back to Cyane. "I just needed to hear you say those things. You may not be queen, but you will always be important to me. I originally brought you back so you could train a couple of shamanesses(?) for this village, but now, the two I'd intended for the job are dead. Would you like the position? As is evident by the war, I need someone around here that can call on me in times of need. Gabrielle needs another person she can trust around here, and I'm sure Ephiny could use some guidance and assistance once in a while. I also need my temple rebuilt, after that b***h Velaska destroyed it."

Cyane blushed at the comment but nodded at the next part,feeling needed was important to her."If Gabrielle and Ephiny want me to stay and advise them I will"She looked to the two formention girls and smiled then went on"Besides you never know two more girls could come along good enought to be trained as shamanesses and then I would have to leave,until then it would be an honor".
Her gaze left the Goddess for a moment and looked to a clearing not far from the village that was the perfect spot for a temple to be built."There"she said as she raised a finger and pointed to the spot"is where your temple will be built.I should get started as soon as possible".She looked agian at Artemis and smiled before walking past her to the clearing to take a closer look.

"Well don't try to do it all by yourself!" Artemis called jokingly as Cyane walked away. Maybe she would make Ares goons help her. Nah, they'd just do a shoddy job.
She finished healing everyone she could find that was hurt and walked back to Gabrielle and Ephiny. "You two should rest up for a while. It's been a long day, and there's still a lot to be done. Where is Xena? I need to speak to the three of you."

Xena sighed, sheathing her sword. So, this battle was called to a truce then. Well, it made sense...she supposed. She still didn't trust Ares any further than she could throw him, but she knew it was up to the Amazons to decide who they were going to trust. She was walking towards Gabrielle, when suddenly with her extra sensitive hearing she caught her name being said and knew she was needed, apparently Artemis wanted to talk to her. She never liked talking with gods...even Aphrodite irked her some times...but Aphrodite was different, and she was indeed her 'favourite' god, if that made sense. She glanced over at Gabrielle and gave a head nod in the direction of Artemis, knowing that Gabrielle would catch on right away that someone wanted to talk with them. So, she walked over casually, nodding at Artemis, her face solemn and showing no emotion as she waited for what the goddess had to say.

Gabrielle looked at Artemis as she headed over to the healer's hut. She could guess that the goddess knew that she didn't trust her. And I think she's actually sorry about that. As much as Gabrielle didn't want to admit, she was beginning to gain a little sympathy for her. At least shes a god that tries, she thought.
Gabrielle moved towards the healers' hut as well and saw her Ephiny. Stopping in front of her friend, she smiled. "You guys did it. The amazons fought very bravely today. You must be proud."
Continuing her conversation with Ephiny, She managed to see Xena over her shoulder, silently calling her over. Looking back at Ephiny, she excused herself and stepped over towards her soulmate.
(OCC: I needed another word for Xena..besides warrior, princess, and friend. lol Soulmate is good, eh?)

Xena, who had been casually standing around waiting for Artemis to say something, suddenly noted Gabrielle was now walking over towards her. She straightened, glancing around before she walked over to meet her bard half way. "I don't like this Gabrielle...something doesn't seem right," she murmured, glancing around to make sure ol' Artemis wasn't listening in. "It's not like Ares to strike a deal unless there's something major in it for him..." she paused, staring into those beautiful green eyes she oh-so loved, and she felt herself soften slightly, "What do you think?" she asked, valuing the woman's opinion a great deal. She knew Gabrielle often felt left out, more like a 'side kick' kind of person...and Xena had made a personal deal with herself to include her more in her plans and ideas...for really, the blond had definitely deserved it, that's for sure.

Artemis grew more and more irritated with Xena each time the warrior disregarded her. That woman showed her damned horse more respect than the gods, it was a wonder she was still alive. She imagined only Ares love for the tall, dark beauty kept it that way.
She wondered why Xena disliked the gods so much. There were plenty of humans that had betrayed Xena worse than any god, and humans meddled in each other's lives just as much as any god did, so why? Perhaps it was just the mindset that mortals adopted that caused them to blame those more powerful than themselves for all the problems of life. As though, just because we're gods, we're responsible for every little thing that happens ever; every slight, every injury, every death; they get angry when do control things, and they get angry when we don't. Really, we couldn't win in that respect. The gods had long ago learned to ignore that fact and live their lives as they saw fit. Some humans were worth the trouble, like Gabrielle, and some, like Xena, weren't. Unfortunately, these two were irrevocably intertwined, and for Gabrielle's sake, she would deal with Xena as best she could.
Artemis walked up to where Xena and Gabrielle were whispering to one another, as Ephiny trailed behind her. "If you two are quite finished, I have something to discuss with you."
She waited as two sets of eyes rested on her, one clearly annoyed, the other less so.
"Cyane wants to stay here--alive--with your tribe, Gabrielle. She has agreed to be my shamaness, under your rule. It would do you good to agree to let her stay. While she would not be queen here, she was a queen once, and having her around for advice and guidance might prove useful."

Gabrielle thought for a moment before voicing her own opinion to Xena. "I think that perhaps Artemis knows something. Why else would Ares order the troops to stop attacking the amazons?" Speaking of Artemis, the goddess walked up behind the two women.
"So Cyane wants to stay here? That would be fine with me. The amazons could really use her at this time. But, I want the decision to be made by Ephiny."

Xena felt her jaw tense slightly when Artemis came over and interrupted her and Gabrielle's conversation. Xena didn't dislike the gods because she felt she had to 'blame' everything on them, not even close. She actually thought it was pretty lame. The reason she disliked the gods was because they were so untrustworthy. No one was ever safe if they were in league with a God or Goddess, it just didn't work that way. The one time she'd allied with Ares, and it had been the worst years of her life. Now of course, that she thought he was a moron who had nothing better to do than look at himself in a mirror like narcissus, she just knew he was good for nothing. When Artemis said that Cyane would like to stay, Xena actually thought it was quite the good idea. However, she kept her mouth shut about it, simply smiling to herself when Gabrielle said the decision was with Ephiny. She loved the respect Gabrielle had for others.
