Youkochylde Youko just grinned ferally, letting Envy sweat a bit. Karma already had her hands full, after all. "Problems?"

envy_fairchylde "What am I supposed to do?" Envy almost whimpered in time with the little raccoon. "If I rock or bounce her isn't she gonna spew right after she ate?"

Karma watched Raven squirm in Envy's hands with amusement. "That one's already staging herself to be the instigator..." she trailed off and then looked up again. "When do you want to start switching them off...?" She felt awful for asking...it was like she was bargaining over custody rights to her newborns and there was no divorce.
"I mean...not that I'm trying to get rid of them, but...hell, I don't know if you guys are ready or...." she shrugged. "Then again, maybe we should see if we can even get them to drink formula first...otherwise how would they eat when they're over there?"
"We could get you a milking machine!" Dave piped up in his infinite wisdom.
"A what...?"
"You know, one of those things like they have on a farm that they hook up to the cow and it sucks out all the milk?"
".....a breast pump, David...?"
"Yeah! That's what I meant!" he grinned.
"Maybe..." she shook her head at her fiance. "One thing at a time, though."
"I'm just trying to help." he shrugged. "Can I go down to the gift shop now and buy some of those cheesy bubblegum cigars for everybody now?"
"I'M not keeping you here." she pointed out, though it wasn't without its good nature. Dave smirked, stood, and planted a kiss on her brow.
"All right, woman, I can take a hint....I'll go take a couple laps around the lobby and give you a break. Need anything?"
"Some water..."
"You got it." And with that, Dave had left...shortly after he was gone, she gave a sigh of relief. She loved him, she really did, but even that had an annoyance cap on it.
The discomfort in her chest eased as Kendall drank his fill and then, promptly, dozed off again. Quick and to-the-point, this little guy...he didn't even stir as he was lifted and burped.

envy_fairchylde Envy's eyes narrowed as he started to bounce Raven gently, the glint in his eyes not leaving Youko. "Shouldn't you be the one to find out first.... dad?"

Youkochylde Nodding, Youko stretched faintly. "Well, we can definately care for them. We've got the nursery at our place all set up as well. If they fuss about being separated from each other, we'll see about maybe just taking both at once, off and on to give you guys a break." He reached for Raven then, sliding her into his arms and cradling her close until she let out a second belch that nearly echoed. Youko's ears fell flat at that, and he just stared down at the infant who was now sighing happily and nestling into her blanket to sleep. "Yep, they're ours."

"I'll believe that when one of their first words has four letters and makes nuns cringe" Karma smirked, watching Raven settle down again and adjusting her grip a bit on Kendall.

Youkochylde "It'll happen," Youko replied, settling Raven against his shoulder and letting her doze as he rocked gently in the chair. "You know it will."

Karma was stirred out of her rest as someone entered her hospital room, making her groggily look up and blink owlishly.
"Whuh...?"
"Sorry to disturb you, but there's a couple of little angels here who asked to see their mommy." a nurse's voice floated back, sounding just a tad too chipper for this early in the morning.
"Did they...?" Karma asked, smiling a little and pulling herself up a bit against the pillows, immediately wincing in pain. Her muscles were strained from yesterday's pushing and the middle of her body was a burning sea of pain, even WITH the "maintenance work" they'd done on it before allowing her to sleep.
Envy, after some difficulty, had managed to get Youko to leave and come home with him so that they could have some time to themselves and likewise give Karma and Dave their space too. Youko, of course, had sworn to return first thing in the morning...so whether he actually DID or not was up in the air. Karma had hoped he would sleep in, personally.
As for Dave, she wasn't sure where he was. He'd left the room about an hour ago to go get something for breakfast and was either waiting for the cafeteria to open or had gotten lost and decided to curl up on a bench somewhere to sleep.
As Raven and Kendall were placed on her belly, she smiled at her little ones. They looked much better today after having been cleaned up and attended to. Their color was no longer blotchy and the both of them were a healthy flushed pink color beneath their respective peachfuzz and fur.
"We've run some tests and the both of them look to be perfectly fine." The nurse informed her, hovering at the bedside and watching for a moment in case Karma needed any help getting them situated to feed. "Nothing is underdeveloped, there was no fluid where it shouldn't be, and I think the entire nursery staff will agree that they both have a healthy set of lungs on them."
"I think that's hereditary." the foxcoon smirked, reaching up to stroke Kendall's ears and the back of Raven's head. Raven's eyes fluttered open and she cooed softly before going back to sleep while her brother didn't stir at all.
"They've both had a diaper change, they should be hungry again soon."
"How soon until we can take them home?" Karma pressed. The nurse paused, looking thoughtful.
"Being that they were a premature birth, we'd like to keep them for three days' observation at the least...just to be sure. If it was up to me, of course, I'd let you go home this afternoon...but....that's how these things are."
"I understand." Karma nodded, though she felt disappointed. The thin mattress of the hospital bed was uncomfortable, she missed her blankets, and it was embarrassing to have to ring the call button whenever she wanted something...usually only to be told by the nurses that she wasn't allowed to have it. Who knew that a new mother wasn't allowed to drink Pepsi...? Fah!
Deciding Karma had things under control, the nurse bustled out of the room to tend to other patients, leaving the new mother alone as she silently held her children, closing her eyes with a faint thin smile on her mouth, feeling blissful...
...at least until Raven came awake suddenly and gave a loud squawk, rousing her brother who immediately followed suit. Karma winced as the two babies in her arms began wailing in unison and quickly fussed with their positioning to place them on either side of her chest. As quickly as it started, it stopped again and the foxcoon breathed a sigh of tired relief as both children quietly fed.
Good god....and she was in this for the rest of her life, she thought frantically. Oh well, on the bright side, at least this particular stage only lasted a few months. Having her boobs become a sea of agony every time she heard a baby cry was -not- something she was going to miss.
And Dave and Youko and Envy would be there to help, so it wasn't like she was doing this all alone...
Comforted, at least for the moment, she settled back and watched her little boy and little girl in silence. They were going to be heartbreakers when they grew up, she could tell already.

Bennali Sundragyn Sunny comes by, carrying a sleeping Bronwen in a baby carrier. She slips a few packages into the mailbox.     The Enclosed Note I heard! Twins! Oooh! I can't wait to see them. ...have some toys. -Love from Sunny The handwriting is all jittery. Someone's had too much coffee.

Sayuri_Nitta Sayuri walked up the path towards the house. She had heard that the karma had come to term, and that they had twins. She carried the gift in her arms, knocked on the door, and receiving no answer tucked it carefully by the doorstep, wedging it so it wouldnt move. A quick adjustment of the card and she left again. Card Dear Youko and Karma, Congratulations on the arrival of your twins! I hope very much that we get to meet them soon. Youkochylde The plushies and balloon fox were brought inside, Youko grinning form ear to ear as he got the nursery ready. It was only a week since the twins were born, and he was finally getting to have them over here for a change. He was bringing over Raven first, the little coon girl seeming to be the more independent of the two. She didn't seem to mind being separated from Karma as much as Kendall did, and she was already bottle-feeding as well, much to Karma's chagrin. Youko had nearly gotten slapped for suggesting a breast pump. Now, however, he was too giddy to care. For what had to be the umpteenth time, he walked through the nursery, making sure everything was in place, and that everything was fully stocked. He didn't want to be lacking ANYTHING for the baby.

Kaioto_Katsuma Kaioto quickly checks her map as she flies through the air towards Youko's house. Having absolutely NO idea where to drop her gifts for their new arrivals off (Since she had recieved two addresses when she had asked the person at the GMFC's front desk), she had decided to just split the load and drop one gift off at each address. With any luck, at least one gift would be recieved. Having already dropped off a little raccoon plushie at Karma's house,  , she now heads towards Youko's, another plushie in hand, this time a small fox.  Around its neck is a tag almost identical to that which is around the raccoon's. Kaioto Dear Mr. Youko,
I've just gotten word of your new arrivals. Congratulations! I thought that your twins could use a little something to play with, so I got them these! Well, uh, this, actually. The other plushie is with Karma, I hope. ^^; Anyway, I hope they enjoy them, and I can't wait to meet you all! I've got twins too, a boy and a girl, so maybe ours could become friends. ^_^ Best of luck!
~*~ Kaioto Katsuma ~*~ Finally, Youko's house comes into view, and she touches down. Just as she had with the other plushie, Kaioto places the fox on the doorstep for Youko to find, and then takes off towards her palace.

Youkochylde Youko breathed a soft sigh of relief, smiling as he looked in on the snoozing pair that was cuddled up in the crib. It had taken ages to get them both down for a nap. One would need changed, the other would start up, then when the original would calm down, it would start all over again. Whoever said that twins were a double blessing had never experienced them. Still, Youko had that dazed, happy smile on his face as he sat draped in the rocking chair and watched the two sleep. A soft hand on his shoulder made him look up with a smile, and he noticed Envy standing there with a small fox sprite doll. "That's sweet, love," he whispered, taking the doll and moving to set it in the crib with the twins. "Don't look at me," the incubus whispered back, moving to lean against the crib rail and watch the two infants sleeping. "It was waiting outside with this." He passed Youko the note then. Note Dear Mr. Youko,

"A playdate when they're a bit older sounds wonderful," he said, glancing to the twins before sneaking out of the nursery, Envy following behind. "For now, however, I think they're a bit young to appreciate it." As Envy was about to reply, a piercing wail sounded from the other room and Youko's ears drooped. "You're being paged, Dad," Envy grinned, performing a mock bow to show Youko the way. Snarling, the fox swatted Envy with his tail as he passed. "Thanks, you're so damned helpful."

Youkochylde Youkochylde Well, it was a good vacation. A long vacation, but a good one nonetheless. I was gone for a week with Envy, visiting some friends. I couldn't take the twins with me, however, there was just no room for another crib to be set up. I miss them terribly, and I'm going to head over to Karma's in a few to bring them over here. It'll give her a break from caring for both of them AND Dave, and it means I'll get to see my children for a while. I can hardly wait!
