Whereas those who came before him, Samael and Michael, had specific attributes that they could focus on their provinces, Gabriel Serves as the intermediary between God and Man.

This pretty much matches the Bible. You never see Gabriel much outside of talking to us.

I'm wondering if you see any angel outside of a reference to humanity, besides the Enoch books and Revelation type visions. Ah.. *shrugs* I'll look for the book this weekend. I make a routine trip to the bookstore whenever I have free time, so I'll poke around for it.

Well, Michael's not usually seen talking to men. He's usually with God or Jesus. He's the general. I think Urien is the guardian of either Eden or the border between heaven and hell. I know that there's a verse in there that tells me, I just can't remember which. At least the book starts you out with a verse, then deviates from there. xd

But yeah, take a look for it. Even if you don't believe it (and I wouldn't blame you), it tells a good story.

Uriel guarding Eden? I didn't think they were an Archangel; I thought they were Cherubim, but as a note, I completely forgot. Went to the coast this weekend, and I didn't even go to a bookstore. I'll have to tattoo it on my hand or something to remind me.

Remember to pick up bread and milk while you're out too dear. xd All I remember from Eden is it was a big angel with a BIG sword. Flaming sword at that. It scared away all the straight guys. heart I'm so bad with these jokes tonight. Forgive me.

Again, early and to lazy at the moment to look it up, but I believe one of them is guarding the entrance while one also guards the Tree of life as well. I'll look it up later to name them.

Edit: Yes it says Uriel Guards Eden, Raphael Guards the Tree.

But while I'm thinking of it it also mentions Gabriel's Duality. He appears as either male or female. Only one to do that.

Most of the info is about the Archangels, Samael included, and general info(Hierarchy, different groups, etc.) other than that theres a few historical stories, but thats it.

I think to be a Christian you have to be a mystic.

Now, I do have some qualms with magic, but n your situation I feel kind of on the fence.

God tells us that if we have but the faith of a musterd seed we can do anything, and many of Jesus' miracles seemed to be magic, if you will.

I suppose if the power is coming from God, than in theory it would be acceptable. However, I still have some issues condoning it., since I feel like it would put you on the same level as God, which is not right.

That's my right away response. Give me some time to think it over.

Heck, the first people to pay homage to baby Jesus were pagan mystics. I mean, the Bible now calls them astrologers and we don't really pay attention to it, but back then astrology was an evil art. Right up there with fortune-telling and such. So, these great lords of faraway lands came to honor our savior, by following an odd star they'd seen while studying the cosmos to predict the future. This sound odd to anyone else?

Well, astrology was (is?) seen as "evil," but that doesn't mean it's untrue. These things were banned in the Bible because of the threat to truth they posed. (well, that's just my opinion.) Truth can and does come from it; I have no doubt about that. I think the purpouse in pointing out that these were pagans who searched for him was that Jesus transcended religion and faith, that he was the Saviour, to every person, not just every Jew.

Would you put down the verses at the beginning of each too? I wanted to look them up myself, but it's not going too well. domokun

You know, I like that a lot. Next time I bring up this point I'll have to continue with this idea. xd

I believe in Magic, and I also think it is not to be tampered with. G-d condems witchcraft, so the question is... is there any Magic that is NOT witchcraft? I think not. If it is caused by angels, it is not YOU that's causing it. It's g-d telling the angel what to do. I don't believe humans have internal powers like Magic. If it's caused by a Daemon (This is how I spell it, get over it) then, again, you are not in control. The Daemon is. I actually know sevral people who have been Magic users. Not, Wiccans, who may or may not actually be Magic users. They were Daemonoligists, who summoned and 'controled' spirits. They said it was like you were in control, but when they stopped practicing, and turned back to G-d, they saw that they were never really in control at all. I want no part of actual Magic, but I still enjoy fantacy novels and such. (Only fanitics condem Harry Potter! xd )

I feel sorry for you, not knowing anyone else. I feel like applauding them for their ability, but I agree that the Controlling of Spirits is not to be attempted, except perhaps capturing and turning away those who're harmful.
There are those who seek control of magic in themselves, not from any form of divinity, they follow what is called the left hand path. I have heard/read people on this path refer to "Finding the darkness within," I would prefer the light without.
