sunsuke01 Oui, I dont know the phrase in french for teaching, to teach and yes I dont want to be thought of as gay (I swear Im not a homophobic though) you can translate "to teach" by "enseigner", and I know you're not homophobic don't worry

Using a translator, Im going to try and say this:
The french word "merci" is said the same way as the english word for mercy. Most who speak poor english wont learn homophones so, just pointing it out. Although you french people should be proud, we now use french phrases in America such as "Merci" "Bonjour" "Si vous plait" and I even use "Raison D'etre" so be happy. Do you use any English Phrases in France (or Canada, or where ever it is you are)

Canada, ou où que vous soyez)Firstly I must say that i don't see how i should feel happy/proud/honoured... in France we are taught that we have to at least learn two foreign languages, so i see it as something that should be also obvious for americans... to use foreign words isn't anything special to me... So i surely don't feel proud if americans use french words especially as most of the time they use them in the wrong context or ill-treat the spelling blaugh How many claim to speak french when they just have a verbal diarrhea and spit out one or two french words in a sentence that doesn't actually mean anything in french... just so it looks like they can speak french. xp Ex: hello! voulai vous couche avec moy... heart (insert proud american face after this sentence) They don't even know what it means but they say it anyway because it was in "moulin rouge" blaugh The grammar is bad, the spelling is awful... so this is definitly not french and I don't feel proud when foreigners ill-treat my language sweatdrop And yes we do use english words (or rather share some common words) here and there in our language (even if institutions like L'Academie Francaise are trying to ban these words to preserve the "purity" of the french language eek ) as english and french come from the same root afterall! whee Some examples(and there's a lot): Start up, meeting, okay,spots,pub,handicap,parking,stop,ticket,basket(shoes),live,unplugged,dressing,t shirt,habitation,train etc etc Premierement je dois dire que je ne vois pas dans quelles mesures je devrais me sentir content/fier/honore... en France on nous apprend que nous devons apprendre au moins deux langues etrangeres, donc je vois ca comme quelque chose qui devrait etre evident aussi pour les americains... utiliser des mots etrangers n'a rien d'extraordinaire pour moi... Donc je ne me sens pas particulierement fier que des americains utilisent des mots francais surtout que la plupart du temps ils sont utilises a mauvais escient: hors contexte, mauvaise orthographe.
Combien d'entre eux revendiquent savoir parler francais quand en fait ils ne font qu'expulser maladroitement un ou deux mots francais dans une diarrhee verbale qui au final ne veut rien dire en francais... juste pour avoir l'air de parler francais xp
Ex: hello! voulai vous couche avec moy... heart (inserez une tete d'americain fier apres cette phrase) Ils ne savent meme pas ce que ca veut dire mais ils le disent quand meme parce que c'etait dans "moulin rouge" blaugh
La grammaire est mauvaise, l'orthographe est terrible... donc ce n'est definitivement pas du francais et je ne me sens pas fier quand des etrangers maltraitent mon langage sweatdrop
Et oui nous utilisons des mots anglais(ou plutot nous partageons des mots communs aux deux langages) ici et la dans notre langage (meme si des institutions comme l'Academie Francaise essaient de rayer ces mots de notre langue pour preserver son cote "pure" eek ) comme l'anglais et le francais viennent de la meme racine apres tout whee

I will be proud when americans will actually know our history or get interested in other cultures than their own. 3nodding Using one or two french words in a sentence because it makes it sound cool ... isn't really something to be proud of.
How many americans asked me who was our current king???Too many! Isn't this a pity sweatdrop
Je serai fier quand les americains connaitront notre histoire ou s'interesseront a d'autres cultures que la leur 3nodding Un ou deux mots dans une phrase parce que ca fait cool ... c'est pas tres glorifiant.
Combien d'americains m'ont demande qui etait notre roi en ce moment???trop! Ca fait pitie sweatdrop

I assure you, we're not all bad, and we're we are not all fat. We have several stereotypes agaisnt france, if you'd like to hear, read on. Most teenagers i talked with who said the sentence didn't know the meaning tho... wink I know that americans aren't all bad or fat,i went in the US twice over the last 4 years and i have met great people there. Nonetheless the bad encounters outcome the good ones sweatdrop As for the stereotypes i know them all...I have been around the net for 8 years, and am member in a lot of american virtual worlds and had to hear them too many times...btw you forgot the rude and arrogant stereotype about the french whee So you're a brit but living in the states? Je sais que les americains ne sont pas tous mauvais ou gros , je suis deja alle deux fois aux etats unis durant ces 4 dernieres annees et j'y ai rencontre des gens formidables.Pourtant le nombre de rencontres desagreables depasse celui des bonnes rencontres. sweatdrop
Quand au stereotypes je les connais tous...Je suis sur le net depuis 8 ans et je suis membre dans plusieurs mondes virtuels americains et je les ai deja trop entendu... a propos tu as oublie le stereotype du francais arrogant et malpoli/grossier whee

I do not like stereotypes, which are totally unjustified. In France, we have stereotypes against America too :
"Americans are all fat" => I think you know this one.
"Americans watch TV all day with crisps"
"Americans eat only hamburgers and chips"
"Americans are stupid"
"Americans are bad educated and narrow-minded"

Je n'aime vraiment pas les stereotypes, qui sont totalement infondes. En France, nous avons aussi des stereotypes contre les Etats-Unis :
"Les Americains sont tous gros" => Je pense que tu connais celui-ci.
