Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Meepfur Name: Stormcloud Nicknames: None Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: ??/11/200? Type: Aberrant (Shadow x Mist) Task: Gatherer Personality: The only thing about Stormcloud that stands out is her coloring - other than that, she's completely ordinary. She is neither ambitious, nor a daydreamer, nor particularly talented. This Sentinel is perfectly happy with her life as a Gatherer, content to go about her day-to-day business with her Mus companions. What she lacks in imagination, however, she makes up for in stubborn common sense. Stormcloud is just as happy in the company of others as she is just being alone, despite the brooding sound of her name - it's based purely on appearances. History: Just like her personality, her history is fairly ordinary, with no great traumas or anything of the like. Once grown, she ventured into the Cold regions, as she'd inherited her mother's thicker down (her parents had comprimised and settled nearer the Not Cold regions). Territory: Neither exceptionally small nor impressively large, Stormcloud's territory is as much a happy medium as the rest of her life. She makes her home in a rather nondescript stand of trees, which borders on a tiny clearing. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate:
Part II – Companions
Name: Whitey Species: Mus Age: Adult Speech Ability: 2 Skill: Whitey is a greedy, thick-skulled little Mus who helps Stormcloud with her gathering - mostly so he can stuff his face with half of what he finds.
Name: Blackie Species: Mus Age: Adult Speech Ability: 3 Skill: Only slightly more intelligent than Whitey, Blackie is at least the more honest and dependable of Stormcloud's gathering assistants. He's also quieter, despite his better handle on speech.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Haren48 Name: Hickory Nicknames: Dusty Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Middle Aged Hatch Date: 04/06 Type: Ghost Task: Gatherer Personality: At first glance, Hickory would appear to be just a gruff, scruffy old codger; not exactly what many self-respecting Sentinels would deem as “decent company”. That's more or less the core of his usual mood, as this opinion seems to suit him well enough. Hickory isn't the sort of person who enjoys spending much time in “decent company's”... company.
While it wouldn't be fair to call him out-right anti-social, Hickory's social track record around popular society (to date) isn't much cause for endearment. With his parents often away and the consummation of fledglinghood approaching, Hickory was often found consorting with a rather rowdy group of friends, particularly during lessons. He was frequently landing in trouble, his own scrappy, smart-alecky behaviour usually the cause of it, not that the odd dare may have been part of it. To add on top of that, he never really managed to keep himself tidy for very long either. Hence his long-standing nickname: Dusty.
He eventually did learn to adapt to proper social behaviour, and rather quickly too. How, why, and from who he never did confess... but common belief among his parents and friends was that he met someone, particularly of the female persuasion. If pressed, he'd only say “It's not what you're thinking...” then calmly change the subject. It's the single calm response that ever seems to escape his beak.
All that aside, the practiced, albeit occasionally grudging behavior is often reserved for official events or the odd visit to Deep Woods proper, but these visits are still kept short and few, if he can avoid them at all.
He still has trouble staying presentable, what with the nature of his job, but at least he's motivated now. History: Raised as the only child of his Ranger parents, he grew up amidst Noctua's thinly-populated eastern back country. Overall, life was quiet for the young Ghost's small family.
His parents have long since passed away, both from old age. Territory: East of Sparkle River, Hickory lives amidst three tall gray oaks, swathed in long hanging moss. During the limited occasions he finds himself with free time, he amuses himself by tinkering with various crafts and pet-projects he keeps littered about his home. Mate: No Companions: Yes Certificate:

Name: Moss Species: Mus Age: Adult Speech Ability: 3 Intelligence: 5 Skill: A dextrous pair of hands to help with work and his hobbies.

Player: Mogami Name: CloudChaser Nicknames: “Chase”, “Four-eyes” – spots on the back of the head; “Drifter” (Amongst scouts and rangers) Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young adult (3-4 years) Hatch Date: 01-04-200? Type: Shadow Task: Gatherer Personality: Extremely polite and confident, most likely due to his parent’s upbringing (and maybe his above average height), Chase is a clever, witty and easy-going Sentinel. He’s very family-oriented. Chase was born with light markings on the back of his head (they look like eyes) but he's not too fond of them and dyes them to match his wing accents after every moulting season. History: Chase is a Gatherer, a job he has proved to be particularly good at. Perhaps the markings on the back of his head, easily mistaken for eyes in the distance, drive off the less determined predators... There was some family pressure for him to join the Scout profession which led to his sudden choice of the Gatherer task. He spent a few months as a Watcher while he tried to solve a few doubts concerning his choice but he’s now fully confident and pleased to return to gathering. He was raised by both his parents who did their best to encourage him in every possible way so his childhood went by a bit too quickly for his taste. He grew up hearing his grandmother terrible tales of the evil Spectres so he’s very much concerned about the possibility of their return. However, little Tempest doesn’t seem to bother him too much. Territory: Chase never had a territory that he called his own. He has an unwilling habit to drift out of the Sentinel’s boundaries, a habit that has earned him a nickname amongst rangers and scouts. He often returns to his parents’ territory (where he was raised). Mate: Not yet. *looks around* Companions: No! Certificate:

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: wooga Paes Name: Raz Nicknames: None Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Middle-Aged Hatch Date: Who knows D: Type: Shadow Task: Gatherer Personality: Raz is very rough around the edges, though he does open up after a while, and the more and more he talks the better it gets, usually. He's still rather rough, though, even when he's "loose", generally strives to put up that loner attitude. Also has a sort-of mean crude kind of humor. He's not too fond of aberrants, due to his upbringing, but as time goes and he spends less time with family-folks, he doesn't care about them as much as he used to.
History: Raz comes from a proud family of shadows, and after a very uneventful youth, when it came graduation time he became a gatherer, mostly to put this boring life behind him. He prided himself in his bravery when he was younger, and there was a point where he felt he didn't fear the ground at all, until a "small" accident changed that.
Long story short, after a narrow escape from a pair of foxes (that encounter cost him a skurri and a mus, which was probably a good thing since they'd kept the foxes busy long enough for him to escape) Raz began to respect the ground more, and began to pay a lot more attention to his surroundings than he used to. He's no longer fearless towards it, too, and now his fear of it is as normal as it would be for any gatherer. That being his last real exciting event he's endured, now Raz is fairly happy to lead a relatively uneventful life, besides a few ground-scares.
Territory: Raz lives near the lake, though he doesn't usually go to close to it, at the edges of the NotCold forest. This spot was picked because he likes the view (from afar). It was formerly belonging to another shadow, a young, dumb shadow, whom he kicked out after this very dumb braggart made the mistake of belittling his job. It was a win-win situation for Raz, though, seeing as he'd already had an eye for that spot, the poking fun at his task had only helped him in the decision of booting the former inhabitant. The territory itself consists of about ten trees, Raz roosts on the largest, though he does use the hollow for shelter. Despite the size of the tree, the hollow is fairly small.
Mate: None Companions: Two, Mus and Skurri Certificate:

Part II – Companions
Name: Keme Species: Mus Age: Adult Speech Ability: 5 Intelligence: 4 Skill: Keme is a good helper, and Raz was quite glad thatit was the other-mus that died in the fox attack(it'd been a new one), considering Keme is his smartest. Usually more attentive than Raz, and a good speaker. Usually Raz makes him gather a ways off, to give an alarm if he sees anything.
Name: Scurry Species: Skurri Age: Young Adult Speech Ability: 3 Intelligence: 4 Skill: Scurry, Raz's second Skurri, which he didn't bother to name as "thoughtfully" as the first, he didn't even bother to come up with a different pattern in which to die him. Though not as good a speaker as his previous skurri, he's smarter and quicker, which Raz is happy for. He's a quicker gatherer, and seems even more attentive to his surroundings while working, is usually the first to squeal if something is wrong, even though it would technically be Keme's job.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: katersaur Name: Firleaf Nicknames: Fir Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult Hatch Date: September 24, 200? Type: Deep Woods Task: Gatherer Personality: Fir has a knack for collecting various objects, especially pinecones, which she hoards in her territory. She has an attraction to all things dark green, which means almost every leaf in the forest. She's also very vocal and loves to chat with anyone who has the time for her. She'll 2007/talk about absolutely everything, from her companion to her feather dye to her pinecones to her job. She doesn't really like to be alone ever, either. When you get past all the chattery nonesense, though, she's a fiercely loyal friend who won't back down from any fight when one of her loved ones is on the line. History: Fir was hatched in a hole in a fir tree, hence her name. She was the only egg ever produced by her parents, as she had been a wild one as a hatchling. They didn't want to deal with going through all of that again. From the time she was in her terrible teens, she began collecting things she found in the generally area of her parents' territory. It was obvious from that point on that she'd become a Gatherer. Territory: A small area of Fir Trees Mate: None Companions: Yes. Certificate:

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Aurrie Beaues Name: Twilla Nicknames: So far, none. Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: 8/8/200? Type: Shadow Task: Gatherer Personality: Twilla is a bright, young, but sometimes irresponsible Sentinel. She has a tendency to do something before she thinks about it and, so to speak, normally tests the water with both feet instead of one. She is not fearless, but she is bold. She does her job, gathering, with pride and tries to pretend that she does not fear landing on the forest floor. History: Twilla grew up under the care of her mother, who passed on not long ago. The bright, but sometimes forgetful Sentinel went through a period of mourning and ‘disappeared’ for a while. During this time, she was busy finding her roosting place, where she stayed for nearly a month before joining the rest of the Sentinels. She is, for the most part, back to her old, perky self. Territory: The bold young Sentinel lives rather close to the southeastern borders of the Sentinel’s forest. Twilla is a bit of a wanderer, but she sticks near the water that flows along the border. The sounds of the running water are soothing to her. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part II – Companions
Name: Auze Species: Mus Age: Adult Speech Ability: 5 Skill: Auze is quite good at scavenging and searching the forest floor for tastey little tidbits for the Sentinels. He is very proud of his job and, like his owner, acts like he is bold, which is a bit of a bluff.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Avid_RPer18 Name: Evening Nicknames: Eve Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: 6/23 Type: Ghost Task: Gatherer Personality: Eve is an optimistic, gregarious, and friendly sort of sentinel. She has a tendency to wear her emotions on the wing. She’s patient, warm, quick to learn, and is quite straight forward and honest. She gets frustrated with those who lie or beat around the bush. History: Always eager to learn and explore, Evening would try to go farther from the nest sooner and took to taking interesting things that she would find back to her parents. It was fairly evident from her fledglinghood what profession she’d be suited for. Territory: Evening’s territory is centered around the tree in which she roosts. Her tree is a medium evergreen with lots of branches. The trees are pretty evenly spaced with punctuated groupings of trees. Her territory touches a corner of the lake and is a little more towards the cold side. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part II – Companions
Name: Bramble Species: Mus Age: Adult Speech Ability: 5 Skill: Bramble is very helpful on Eve’s gathering excursions. She can get in and around tree roots and investigate down holes that Evening can’t get into herself. She doesn’t seem to like silence so if things get quiet; she has a tendency of chittering on about various little things to fill the quiet, usually to Eve’s dismay. Bram also has been known to snitch a seed or two for herself. She’s fairly comfortable with Evening but gets rather skittish around Sentinels that she doesn’t know.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Scaramouche Fandango Name: Falchior Nicknames: Falfal Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young and sorta stupid Hatch Date: 28 October Type: Mist Task: Gatherer Personality: Sweet, but incredibly hapless, Falchior likes to talk about anything, except his job. When Gathering is brought up, he fluffs, stammers, and immediately changes the subject to something else. How about Skurri? How's your part of the forest? Lovely Mus you've got there... He's thought about switching tasks before, but he has a deep-seated drive to make his parents happy, and since nothing makes his mother happier than bragging about her truffle-hunting son, he stays. In fact, he isn't as horrible at his job as he thinks, but a nagging lack of confidence keeps him from being all that he can be. He's incredibly attached to his Waral, and has a tendancy to turn to him for approval in difficult, flustering conversations. History: His parents were both fantastic gatherers, and he was the only offspring they raised themselves, preferring to spend all day gathering huge amounts of seed, mushrooms... and eggs. They guarded him jealously, but they were very career-oriented, preferring to leave their fledgling to his own devices as they sought out the tastiest bits in the forest with their twin Warals. He was raised on gourmet food, the tastiest of tasties, and when they felt him ready, they got him a Waral of his own, a gathering pack, and sent him out to retrieve Noctua's bounty. Unfortunately, he was horrible at it. Absolutely hopeless. Fortunately, Rokku, his Waral, was bright enough and skilled enough to help him learn, and eventually, he figured out how to make his parents proud. He finally became decent enough to specialize in finding eggs and tasty fungi... coincidentally, his Waral's favourite foods. Territory: A wide area dotted with Scot Pine trees and several open spaces that, despite being in the Colder reaches of Noctua, is humid enough for good fungal growth. Mate: No. Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part I - The Sentinel
Player: Mintaka Name: Dust Nicknames: Dusty Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult Hatch Date: 20/09 Type: Wildtype Task: Gatherer Personality: Dust is a practical sort when it comes to life, and took her task accordingly to make sure someone got things done. For her though, there is a certain rush in touching the forest floor and lifting again without anything happening - like a game of chicken almost. Still, if she is forced down too long she will become uneasy at times, and hurry the task just to be up again for awhile. Don't mistake her thrills with foolishness; she knows too well it's dangerous, but someone has to do it. When it comes to interacting with others she is blunt, to the point, and occasionally snarky or sharp of tongue. Her sense of humor is a bit dry, which leads to occasional issues, but she makes do with whatever comes. Life is too short to worry about things, and if no one did anything even if it was risky... then there would be problems. She bases trust wholly on action rather then words, and those who stick by her are fast friends with a loyal person at their back in her. She enjoys a good trick or song though, and appreciates the efforts of everyone, even if some seem to 'do less' when it comes to survival - everyone needs some time to play as well as work. History: Dust was the child of a hunter and ranger, and often spent stretches without seeing either parent or only one. Her parents loved her and her siblings - a brother and a sister - but their duties were more important, and vital. She had been explained to about what they did, and it's importance, and this instilled her sense of doing things that had to be done, despite potential costs (including not seeing family). As she grew she found all things fascinating, and often bothered other owls about what they did, were doing, their tasks, etc. The ones she found most fascinated with - and their tales - were Gatherers, who did something very much considered risky in gathering from the forest floor. She'd heard tails of the place, and some discouraging words about it, but... she also did love the things Gatherers found. She set herself then as a fledgling to head down this path. Her parents were concerned about the decision slightly, but being that her mother was a hunter, it wasn't too far fetched really, and they gave their blessing to pursue the course if she truly had her heart on it. Her early days gathering were quick jaunts, but as she became more used to the below, and it's ways she grew more able to spend time, and enjoyed knowing she was cheating things out of a chance to get her. Her first investment was in a pack, so she could forage for longer periods easily. Her second... was quiring a few companions to aid her. While she was big, she knew there were things in small places that they could get to... and it also helped having extra eyes and ears around. She had originally intended to get one, but she found her particular choice would not be parted with another Mus, so she took both. It took soem work but the trio has a working order for gathering now that usually suits them, and when not gathering, they still stay close to her, as she refuses to let her aid get eaten up. Anyone making movements towards them in her presence or insinuating snacking on them is met with a sharp warning; they're a tool of her work as much as they're company, and she will not lose things. Territory: She keeps a territory which has a small stream passing through it, so that she has ample gathering at her talons. The water provides for lush bushes and rich plants to choose from, and this suits her fine. The more abundant the least searching she needs to do, and water is the friend of all things she 'hunts'. It's not terribly large, but not tiny -- enough for her to look over and watch over, with enough so she feels she's doing her part. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part II – Companions
Name: Ki Species: Mus (the lighter one) Age: Adult Speech Ability: 5 Intelligence: 5 Skill: Gathering things from small places.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: LittleDream Name: Polaris Nicknames: Northern Star, Star Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult Hatch Date: 07/07 Type: Shadow Task: Gatherer Personality: Helpful. That's how Polaris is. She loves to help other Sentinels. So why, do you ask, is she a gatherer, and not any other profession that would put her closer to others? Because she is REALLY lousy at trying to help. Whenever she is asked to do something, she starts acting weird, and performing the task correctly is really hard for her. Even if normally she would do it with ease. So, she decided, it would be better to work alone. Now that she has aged, not many know about that weakness of hers since she made a lot of effort to get rid of most of it. She still sometimes falls into panic, but much more rarely than when she was younger. History: Polaris' biggest dream was to become an Elite. But who would agree to train such a clumsy little bird like her? So she quickly abandoned those dreams. It was too hard to explain that she normally isn't as clumsy as it seems. But it was just the beginning. Whenever she had dreams of doing something really heroic, she was laughed at as soon as she opened her beak about it. So instead of becoming a hunter or a ranger, she is now a gatherer, and for her own pleasure scouts the below. And she has a skill that is very helpful while doing so - she always knows exactly where she is. ALWAYS. It's like she has a compass in her head. Territory: A group of trees near the lake, neighboring to Mag's territory. Mate: None Companions: yes Certificate:

Part II – Companions North, South East and West are siblings born at the same time. They look practically identical, and the only way to differ them is by the star image made with dye on their bodies. So far North can speak a bit better than his siblings, but tries to keep the talking at their level.
Name: North Species: Mus Age: Young Speech Ability: 5 Intelligence: 5 Skill: Simply gathering jobs. These mus are pretty young, and if they have any special skills, Polaris hasn't discovered them yet.
Name: South, East, West Species: Mus Age: Young Speech Ability: 4 Intelligence: 5 Skill: Simply gathering jobs. These mus are pretty young, and if they have any special skills, Polaris hasn't discovered them yet.

But don't let her personality and name fool you. She is as rough and tumble as anybody else. She is also one to speak her mind when it needs to be spoken. History: Flower is the same as any normal Sentinel. She was passed around from Minder to Minder as a hatchling. When she became a fledgling she went and learned how to gather from another. When she became an adult she was given Daisy as a graduation gift for being such a hard worker. Territory: Flowers territory is rather small but she is content with what she has. She lives at the edge of a small meadow surrounded by trees. In the middle of the meadow is a small natural spring bubbling up from the earth. The meadow has many types of flowers, herbs and berries to gather and attracts many kindly creatures. Mate: None - But looking Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Shikai-chan Name: Starling Nicknames: Star Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young adult Hatch Date: 16 December Type: Ghost Task: Gatherer Personality: Word come and goes about her great persona and her extreme ‘bravery’. However, Sentinels tend to be unpleasantly surprised when they come upon Starling eye to eye. Despite her fair intelligence and undeniable wit, the young adult can be very overwhelming with her flighty personality, never paying full attention to the now and always looking for the next big thing. She has her eyes locked on anything potentially dangerous or excited and should be described as ‘gutsy’ in her actions rather than brave. She don’t really demand or seek attention, rather she stumbles into potential situations but these situations never seem too wild for her. Many of the older generations frown at her ‘live for the moment’ attitude and her blatant disregard for any forms of tradition. Some call her a troublemaker but others find her amusing. However, like you probably would have guessed, she doesn't care what others think and only seems to live for herself and the crazy fun she’s having. History: Starling came from a normal family with a mother, father, and two other siblings. However, ever since her youth, she had an unnatural tendency to ‘fall out of the nest’ both literally and physically. She was always the odd feather of the bunch and loved to drive her parents crazy. Their words and lectures seem to fly right over her pretty little head. In addition, she always seemed to disappear - both from wandering off and hiding (partly because she always seemed bored and intent on keeping herself entertained). In addition, she has an extreme desire to explore the forest floors. Despite her parent’s warnings, she found the vast solidity of the forbidden floors to be as wonderful as it is terrifying. As a result, she accepted the role of gatherer once she reached her adulthood. It fit well with her need to be busy and her desire to explore the forest floors. Territory: Although surprisingly large, Starling's territory was almost cast aside because of its lack of significant trees compared to the rest of the forest. However, that doesn’t seem to bother her much mostly since there is this very comfortable and particular tree that looks larger and fuller than other trees in the forest that she enjoys resting on. There is also a surprisingly large amount of deep dark sections for her to rest since she doesn’t have a particular fondness towards light. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part II – Companions
Name: Moby Species: Mus Age: Adult Speech Ability: 4 Skill: This little critter is extremely helpful to Starling because he seems to know exactly where to find the nicest things and food to gather. However, his main role is to actually gather seeds in areas Starling finds too bright for her to spend large amounts of time. He chatters quickly and wastes no time to supply her with reliable information which pleases Star immensely.
