Kilik walked past the guard in the small hut that connected Saffron City to Celadon. "Good day, sir," the police officer said. The boy waved and Flareon barked in welcome. Koffing laughed as the three left the building and entered Saffron City. Following the path, he found the Silph Corporation building. A Rocket guarded the door.

"Halt!" he said, holding out his hand to stop Kilik. Sighing, the boy pointed to the badge on his chest. "Oh...go right ahead," he said, bowing. Kilik patted the grunt on the head and entered the building. In the front room was a large fountain.

"Beautiful place," he said, pressing the Up button on the elevator.

Kasiya didn't dare to breathe as the Pokeball twitched back and forth, its captive trying desperately to escape. Ding. The Pokeball snapped shut, and everyone let their breath out in relief. "We did it, Mightyena," Jaeshan said, picking up his Pokeball and looking over. Mightyena howled triumphantly, the looked from Jaeshan to Kasiya, then collapsed, the poison taking its toll.

"Gaah! Mightyena!" Jaeshan ran over to his fallen Pokemon, cradling its head in his arms. "You fought well, pal. Don't worry, we'll get you help," he said, recalling him and facing Kasiya. "We've gotta help him," he said, his face fearful.

"Don't worry," Kasiya said soothingly. "We'll just head back to Cerulean City, and take him to the Pokemon Center. The nurses will know what to do."

"Right," Jaeshan said, nodding. "Not time to panic." He pulled his shirt over his head and put on his shoes. Kasiya put her shorts on overtop of her bathing suit and crammed the rest of her clothes into her bag.

"Are we ready?" she asked, looking around again, recalling all her Pokemon.

"Yes," he said, his voice shakey. "You lead the way this time. I've never been to Cerulean."

Kasiya nodded as her PokeNav rang. "We can walk while I talk," she said reassuringly, and answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Nina!" Kasiya replied excitedly. "I'm alright, no need for worries here. How are you doing? And how's that little egg of yours?"

Kilik entered the elevator as the door opened, Flareon and Koffing entering alongside the trainer. The doors close and Flareon jumped into Kilik's arms. "What?"

"Flare Flare!" it pointed its nose at the buttons.

"Okay, Flareon. Press that one," he said, pointing at the button that said 10F. Doing as it was told, Flareon pressed a paw against the button. It lit up at the touch and the elevator twitched for a moment. The elevator rose up and up. Koffing fell to the ground. It couldn't float while it was in an elevator. When the machine stopped, the Pokemon hovered back up to head-level. The door opened and the young Rocket exited. Flareon jumped out of his arms and walked ahead, holding its head up high. Kilik's black hair fell over his left eye. He turned the corner and reached a door. It said 'President' on a label near the top of the door. The boy took the handle in his hand and opened the door slowly. It creaked as it opened.

"Please! Don't hurt me!" cried a voice. A pudgy man was sitting on the couch, his arms over his head. The man was shaking.

"Get over it," Kilik growled, closing the door behind him. Flareon jumped up to the President and began to bark. "Flareon, leave him be. Giovanni said we need to guard him. Why? I'm not sure." He shook his head, his hair finally leaving his eyesight.

"Giovanni?" repeated the President, "Oh, then you must...be part of Team Rocket!" he fell off the couch and crawled up against the wall.

"Relax, old man. I'm not going to kill you. Neither is Koffing or Flareon." He pointed at his two Pokemon and smiled. "Just stay there."

"They're both doing rather well," Nina replied. "I can't wait for the day that Angel evolves-- I know she'll make a beautiful Blissey." Nina winked at Angel, who smiled.

"I know she will too," she said, as the police cars came into view. This doesn't look good, she thought, wondering what the police would think of them coming up from the mountainside.

The President coughed as he waved his hands to clear the smoke. Kilik laughed along with his two Pokemon. Voices began to appear in the hallway. "Not a word," the boy ordered the older man, pointing a menacing finger. He slowly approached the door and opened it. It was another group of Rockets, one of them being Wily. They saluted.

"Greetings, Kilik." said the other one. Wily said nothing as he slapped his hand to his side.

"Hello," the boy saluted, "What are you here for?"

"Giovanni told us that we should help you guard the President," Wily growled, scratching his nose.

"I've got it under control." Kilik turned around, his coat flowing as he turned. Flareon made a 'hmph' and followed his trainer.

"You disobey Giovanni's orders?" the other one said. Kilik stopped.

"All right then...but don't bother me." He barked, sitting back in the chair and again trying to balance the pen on his nose.

A few minutes later, Nina and company rested underneath a tree, and leaned her head against it. She let out a deep sigh that seemed to come up from the very bottoms of her feet. Anna hovered beside her.

As Nina closed her eyes, she suddenly had a horrible feeling come over her. She felt her spine tingling and the hair on the back of her neck stood up. Her eyes snapped open.

"Nina?" Anna asked her. "Is something the matter?"

Nina didn't respond right away. Images flooded into her mind-- Sabrina, Saffron City, Silph Co., Kilik, and a very tall, dark, mysterious man.

"Y... yes..." Nina replied. "Something's wrong; very wrong. We have to get back to Saffron City, right now." Anna was very confused. "Is somebody in trouble?"

Nina replied, "They may be." With that, Nina recalled Cupcake and Angel into their Pokeballs, and made a mad dash back toward Littleroot Town's train station.
