Beate reached the bridge of her ship, and felt completely different. From here, she could see the Terrestrial Lands, the lesser kingdoms with their plains and rivers. She detested the Terrestrial Lands, having lived near the rift for so long, and enjoyed rather the solemnity and majesty of the sky, especially soaring through it. Despite it's inability to maneuver in battle, the Rhinemaiden was a gorgeous ship, made to match her beauty as she entered the world. Her father, having commissioned the model around her birth, halted its manufacturing, claiming that it was ineffective in war. Some say that it was her birth and her ineptitude that spurned him to the current obsession he had with technology. Beate carried all of this in her mind; it weighed on her shoulders.

Stepping into the center of the bridge, she spoke to her crew.

"Lieftenant, what can you tell me about the current array of the skies?"

"Majesty," he said bowing, "It seems that we are preceeded by Duat. They attack Olympus and our enclave in Duat tells the Vizieriat that they've attacked both nations when in fact, the forces that have been sent to Valhalla, wait for our command from the Golden Valley, earthside."

She gazed out into the sky, and continued asking questions. "And what of Olympus now"

"Majesty will find that Olympus is now attacking our forces over Southern Olympus, near Anadoxis. Their Queen is young majesty and can't see ahead of her own face. She's apparently sent the entire force of Olympus to battle the Michael and some other ships."

Her face became stern suddenly. "They are attacking the Michael?"

"Yes your majesty."

She weighed what he said. The Vizieriat is corrupt, at least the metal mages. Olympus is falling into father's trap. Everything is going smoothly. How can I shake this up?

"Lieftenant, you will order all of our arms onto land. Give us a plain far out of eye from the Golden Valley?"

"Near the rift, Majesty. In the Chieftainessdom of Odmil."

"Have them land their, wait it out. Please inform my retinue to ready themselves into escape pods, except for...Andora!" At her yelling of Andora's name, the thin woman came walking quickly onto the bridge.

"Majesty?"

"Summon Priscilla." She turned to the Lieftenant. "Kneel."

The Lieftenant took a knee and lowered his gaze when Beate placed the sword on his left shoulder.

"Do you promise to serve the His Majesty's Army, defend his honor and country, and give your body should the need require it."

He answer affirmatively, when Beate kneeled and placed the sword against his neck. "But do you swear allegiance to me?" Her eye was stern and sharp, almost hateful. He gulped and sputtered out a yes.

"Good. Arise Knight, Sir Agamond Des Lieuriens, defender of His Majesty's Kingdom. You will be my captain and keep my arms on a tight leash until I summon you again. You are to mobilize, set up good relations with Her Holiness the Chieftainess immediately. See if any feather carrying warriors want to fight in my army. You are not make yourselves unseen."

The Lieftenant scurried away. The rest of the crew was gone, except for the pilot. As the sound of jettisoning escape pods resounded through the ship, Beate looked to the pilot.

"Make for the center of the fight between Olympus and Valhalla. We are going to test my father's love." With her order, the ship left the lower sky and headed for Olympus Airspace.

Arilam followed Rannek to the cockpit and straped himself in to a nearby seat. He listened to the statement from the Olympian fleet, and saw the enormous spread of ships in the sky. As Rannek's hands began to fly across the controls, Arilam glanced back out the window, spotting another ship flying next to them.

Arilam reached for the intercom to contact them, but noticed the specific controls Rannek was taking for evasive maneuvers. "Wait!" he cried, but the ship had already begun to dive through the atmosphere toward the ground. Arilam grabbed hold of the twin fruit as it began to slip out of his pocket. This plant was rare, but it might become too much trouble to keep around if the problems kept coming at the rate they were.

Too late to avoid the problems now, though. "Hey, Rannek, does this ship have any manually controlled guns?"

Karawan strapped into the cockpit seat behind Rannek, noticing the Nihopalaoa. He heard Arilam talk about guns, and wondered what would happen to the three of them. It remained clear that no matter what, for now, they were out of the airfight, so why was Arilam trying to get in the middle again?

'Damn...I was hoping Beate would have shown up before this...' he thought after hearing the Olympian missive. He didn't even need to look back, as he knew the rest of the Olympian fleet was already there, along with the Zeus. His lieutenant would have already brought the Rhinemaiden up to speed, and he knew he could count on him till it was time to carry out the plan. He saw the tradeship dive. 'Oh, good, a chase...' He ignored the other ship, and sped up to about 250 miles an hour, as the ship he was after shot towards Lower Earth. He was now considerably closer, and could make out the details on the ship. 'The White Hawk? Even more interesting...'

[[That's the only place with an ocean, yeah....And I'm thinking it might not be the kind of ocean we know, seeing as it's saturated with the Haze.]]

((ahh! alright))

Zarina carefully stood up and picked up her pouch. She then put it to her lips again, took a sip, and started running back to Rosalie and the village. "Rosalie!! I've improved!!" she shouted gleefully as she ran, strapping the pouch back to her side.

{{Actaully I'm weaving near the edges of Olympus' capital city limits heading straight west toward Valhalla}}

Rannek was to busy to respond to his shouting passenger. His hands flew as he reactivated the engines, then sent them into an over burn to help the ship stablize as it fell. The Hawk weaved in and around the buildings on the edge of the capital city.

"There are guns but you flip on the man-operated one then it might actaully slow us down. I've rerouted all power to the engines to see if I can keep us flying fast enough to get out of here in one piece. My ship is faster then anything but another modder, the Imperial grade stuff tends to stay in the safe-zones." Rannek gave a chuckle as he finished his statement.

The Hawk glided out of city limits moments later, the ground of the floating continent flying past below, a medley of greens and browns. The hum of the egines could be heard as Rannek pushed them further, the ship almost vibrating from the speed. The bang from breaking the sound barrier could be felt in their bones. Tenkyuu's eyes widden slightly as a small red light came onto the dash.

"Okay that's not good." He muttered as they flew over the edge of the Olympus continent and out into the Haze of lower Earth.

"If I my say something sir," he said, jiggling as they rockted through the sky, over the edge of the continent and into the haze, "but shouldn't we be landing!?" He looked out of the window and gazed into the haze. It was unsettling, to say the least. He put his hand on his forehead and jumped back when vines started simmultaneously springing from his hand.

"What is this? What's going on!?"

Beate was getting angry. The pilot, getting the sense that he might be walking to certain death, was making way rather slowly. In fact, seeing as the clouds were passing the Rhinemaiden, you could say it was a snail's pace.

She slowly walked from where she was sitting on the bridge to the pilot's chair. Bending down, she looked out into the sky, but talked directly into the pilot's ear.

"Ensign."

He quivered as he turned to her. Stuttering, he answered her. "Ye-y-y-ye-yesss yo-your high—"

"Ensign. Can you tell me why out headway is under three aeronauts?"

"Yo-your—"

"Don't answer," she conitnued. "You will make way at 50AN, and you will keep out speed steady. You will not disobey this order, or I will let you die when the Olympian's explode this ship. If you do obey, I will preserve your life."

She walked away from him and back to her seat. As she crossed her legs, Andora began speaking.

"You're keeping him alive Your Majesty?"

"No. He's a water mage, and he's been piloting this ship for nearly fifteen years. My father had the foresight to put him on a ship that is never used for war. Why should I keep him alive?"

Andora smirked. "But surely, he can keep himself alive, with the water."

"Oh yes he can Andora. He, should he find a way to get from the Low Earth to Valhalla, will be able to tell my father I'm alive."

Andora smiked again. "How prodigious Your Majesty."

She grinned, standing up and facing away from the sky view. Behind her, the Rhinemaiden was coming up on the fight. In fact, it was rising up, from the lower sphere, like a large, cumbersome, Valhallan needle, directly between the two fronts.

"Andora, how fast can you conjure a fully formed, automated, metalic rescue pod?"

"In a snap, My Lady."

"Good." She tapped her wrist, a channel opening up to the Michael.

"Your Majesty Princess Beate Gisela, this be the HMAV Michael, what is your call?"

"Herr Communicator, can you please patch me to my most humble and loyal servant?"

"Will do, Your Majesty."

Beate signed as she turned around, waiting the call back, all the while Andora forming the rescue pod, the pilot quavering, and the large ship surmounting between the attacking armies.

Thorik swore under his breath as the ship broke the sound barrier. He tapped the touchscreen display of The Hammer, and the small tracking device shot out on a tiny rocket. He flicked the headlight on, cutting a swath through the Haze. 'There...' The rocket got a bead, and started following the ship. It would be too small to detect on radar, and too fast to see. He doubted that the White Hawk would be able to make the supersonic jump again, let alone make it back to Olympia with the amount of fuel that must have been consumed. He knew the tracker would hit and stick someplace out of sight.

He pulled up, heading back to the gigantic dogfight. As he rounded the edge of the Continent, he saw the Rhinemaiden rising perpendicular to him in the sky. A light flashed on his console. 'About damn time...' He magiked an internal earpiece and a throat microphone from some more of the excess metal in his horns, and tapped the display.

"Sir, direct transmission from Lady Valhalla aboard the Rhinemaiden."

"What are you waiting for? Patch me through!"

"Ye-Yes, Sir Thorik. Immediately!"

Thorik approached the battle, then slowed down and stopped, waiting to hear his lady's voice.

"Have you really?" asked Rosalie as she walked outside of the house. "With my greatest apologies, for not asking to use magik.." said Zarina as she put one hand behind her head and sighed. "Well, that's all behind us now. Tell me, Zarina, are you hungry yet?" asked Rosalie with a kind voice. "Yes, now that you mention it. Thank you." replied Zarina with a smile as she re-strapped her water pouch.

She followed Rosalie into the house and on the table was a basket full of freshly picked fruits. "Take as many as you like. We can always go back and pick some more." said Rosalie, smiling as she pushed the basket lightly towards Zarina. "Thank you!!" she exclaimed as she took a handful, sat down and started to wolf down the fruits as if she hadn't eaten in ages.

"Oh, geez," Arilam said, as the White Hawk dived into the Haze. As he watched vines spout from Rhin's hands, he quickly reached for the bag carrying the Twin Fruit, only to have the bag explode in his hands, sharp spikes of hardened earth jetting from the bag in all directions. Arilam quickly dropped the bag, and the bag began to bounce and bob around the cabin, as Arilam felt the magik of the Haze disrupting his control.

'If this continues, the flower will be damaged! Wait, the flower!' Arilam began to focus his magik into the earth, specifically, toward the Twin Fruit. He felt all his energy begin to drop, as the power of the wood magik used to create the flower began to devour his magik, and the bag fell to the cabin, the flower still standing. Arilam kept his magik focused on the flower, allowing his weakness to wood magik to keep control over his power.

As he turned back toward the controls, he failed to notice as the flower slowly began to grow.

Queen Pandora remained calm, despite the chaos unfolding around her. Status reports from the fleet poured in from all around her, and she absorbed it all. Attackers from Duat and Valhalla at the same time? This war was becoming too much trouble.

"My lady, we have a new development," an officer said, approaching her seat at the helm of the Zeus. Despite her status as queen, the area she controled appeared like nothing more than an ensign was assigned. This area, too, was surrounding by photos and depictions of her failed campaigns.

"Is not every waking moment of our lives a new development is this existence?" the queen said, staring blankly at a wall of readouts and radars. "Ma'am?" "Nevermind, what is it?"

"It seems the radars have picked up the signature of an older ship of Valhallan design, and several ships in the vicinity have claimed it is marked as the Rhinemaiden. Many of the captians think it to be a decoy, or a kamikaze ship. They've requested permission to destroy it before it causes too much damage."

Something about the name piqued a memory in the queen's mind, and she grinned. "No, no, don't shoot it down. Capture it, contain it, do something to it, but don't allow the passengers to die or escape. Actually, send the Hades to capture the passengers."

"The Hades? The ship designed to paralyze other ships, not destroy them?"

"The very same. And don't quote me on ship capabilities. I've helped build most of the military ships here."

"My apologies, but ma'am, why would we show mercy to a Valhallan ship? Would it not be better to shoot them down?"

"No, I don't think so. After all, he may not be fond of her, but I wonder how that old fool Heimdall would respond to the death of Princess Beate?"

"Princess who?"

"Never mind that. Launch the Hades immediately. Capture as many possible, but don't kill Beate."

The officer hesitated, before saluting, "Yes, my Queen."

As the officer turned to the intercom and began to bark orders, Pandora began to chuckle. "Oh, Beate, I haven't heard a word about you since your father booted you out of Valhalla. Why might you be here, I wonder?"

((One bit of note for all characters, especially Anko. Mist covers a good portion of the world, but it is thickest around and under the three sky Kingdoms. The farther from the kingdoms you get, the thinner the mist, until it is barely visible at all. So near the oceans, there would be so little mist, you couldn't see it at all.))
