I'm just a very private person. I don't like the idea of complete strangers seeing my face. If you're close enough to me, then I won't have a problem removing it.

I could never wear a niqab. A tichel is really pushing it for me, but an entire face thing?! More power to you though. It just shows that I like my face a little too much to cover it...*Giggle*

Not that I'm arogant or self absorbed, I'm just proud of it. *Nods*

I cannot wait for winter. I am such a cold weather person, which is weird because our winters are kinda lame.

I was gonna say.. What's cold to you?

Oh, just because it's Arkansas doesn't mean it doesn't get cold. Probably not Yankee cold, but colder than most places in the south.

@Dis: I can certainly see where you're coming from. Plus, it gives people a chance to get to know you before judging your face...A lot like the internet. At the same time, if someone can handle your wishes such as that, they're less likely to be stupid about other things. If that makes sense.

I understand what you're saying. In general, I don't trust, and avoid, people who judge me based on my choice of clothing.

Hehe, "Yankee cold."

I'll remember that when the temperature is negative and I have to unearth a car from five feet of snow >.>

I lived in southern Arkansas for ten years as a kid. Though most of the towns are really pleasant, pretty (at least in parts), and as far as I can tell filled with some really great people, my particular town was a stinkhole filled with bigots and jerks. That's ten years I'll never get back. I seriously hated EVERYTHING about my childhood there. Meanwhile, just one town over, there were dance instructors (which my schoolmates could go to every week, because their parents had cars that would reliably get that far, and money to put gas in them, and could pay for the lessons); restaurants that didn't smell like rotting garbage (I got to eat there about three times a year, when we went out of town to shop for seasonal clothes); and some really pretty views of countryside. I also got to see a lot of gorgeous places and meet a lot of amazing people when my dad's band, which he taught, traveled out of town for football games or band competitions. I loved those trips with all my heart. I cried when Mom and I had to stay home because there wasn't room for us on the band bus.

I hope you live in ANY Arkansas town other than mine, Kingpin, because if you live in my old town, my heart weeps for you.

My dad comes from Central Arkansas. The depressing thing about going to visit family down there is, small towns like that are really depressing. Not only do most of those people have no way to get out, they just sort of give up on a better life.

I actually grew up in Fayetteville. The area is really great for children and adults alike. I mean, I don't have a baby or a drug problem, so I think I'm doing good. xp

Something people should realize, a lot of small towns in Arkansas haven't had time to evolve because they've had the same group of people since the 1800s. It's where the racist, hillbilly stereotype comes from. Certainly the whole of Arkansas is not like those few towns scattered throughout the state that are still segregated and stupid. Of course I'm not saying you won't find bigotry in my town, or that you're exempt from it in any place for that matter...

And honeys, if you're ever in my neck of the woods, steer clear of Harrison!

xd If you come to Misssouri, never go to the city of St. Louis- it's awful, depending on where you go. I live much more towards the suburbs an hour or two away, and it's pretty nice for the most part.

YEAH. I love me some grits. Not the instant stuff, but the really good slow-cook type, with melted cheddar cheese bits in it. Mmm.

Dang, now I gotta go buy grits.

Anyway, since I doubt I'll be online again before Saturday night, happy Sukkot!
