((Raistlin's not the only one with mid-terms...*grumble* If I have to memorize one more scientific name for obscure cellular functions I'm going to hurt someone.))

Vilya finally arrived back at the inn after missing Sai at the tailor's.
She caught sight of Kin by the door as she opened it.
"I booked a room for you in case you wanted it." She said, sticking her thumb at the second floor. She then disappeared inside.
It took a little while for Vilya to find Sai, his new clothes helping more than she expected at hiding him in the common room. When she finally caught up with him she tapped him gingerly on the shoulder.
"You look...nice." She offered slowly, taking in the baggy pants, matching jacket and scarf. She wondered how the cloth boots would stand up to bad weather.
Tura snorted. Vilya bit back a laugh.

((Hey guys, sorry for the delay, yet again... I think I'm getting lazy in my old age....))

Sai caught the note of skepticism in her tone, almost as if she didn't believe the words even as she spoke them.

"Is it bad? I was trying to get away from anything resembling what I was wearing before..." Sai said. He felt uneasy about his new appearance now, based off of her reaction to it. Any woman he had ever met had better fashion sense that any man he had ever met, so if Vilya thought his new clothes were bad then he might just let her use him as a doll and dress him how she sees fit.

((Shall I see about recruiting some more people?))

"Well, investing in a pair of leather boots would help." She said, pointing at his feet.
Suddenly her stomach, unable to keep silent any longer for the day it had gone without a proper meal growled like a bad-tempered cat. She put a hand over it, tossing Sai a sheepish grin.
"But...can we eat first?"

Sai glanced down at the cloth boots on his feet. They were made of a pretty heavy material, and they seemed sturdy, sort of. But he could already tell, now that he thought about it, that they would not hold up in extreme conditions, like rain...

"Yeah, you're probably right about that. But first, we eat. What do we eat?" Sai asked.

Vilya's expression brightened and she chose a spot on one of the long hall tables. Once there she ordered two hot plates of the tavern's special and a pitcher of fresh strawberry cordial she had seen other guests with.
When the food was delivered she picked up a fork with great enthusiasm and began to eat.
The food was spectacular, spit-roasted pork and fresh tubers covered in apple sauce. Corn and various leaved vegetables were piled on the side and covered in a peculiar but pleasantly new spice.
"What's on the corn?" She asked the innkeeper as he returned with a fresh loaf of bread, still warm from the stone oven out back.
"Ah, it's a rare spice elsewhere, but 'cause 'o' the sky ships what dock here, it be readily had enough in this town. Called nutmeg it is."
Vilya tasted it carefully, nodding her approval.
"It's great!"

Tura seemed put out by the fact that she was still cooped up in the stone.

At this Tura's mind voice seemed to brighten.

((Pardon my late return sweatdrop School work finally let up and I have time now (at this absurd 3 a.m. time) to post.))

Damiano had gone off on his own earlier that afternoon. He was hoping to find some valuable, if not useful components for some of his spells. Different locations tended to have exotic materials and components which could bolster magic to certain degrees if used correctly. Knowing this much, he was on the hunt for anything from small gems such as amethyst to (as strange as it may seem) bat guano. To his disappointment, Damiano found nothing he either didn't already possess or that was out of his price range. suggested Ark with a yawn. replied Damiano mentally. He honestly wasn't too sure where Sai, Vilya, and the others had gone.

Damiano spent the next hour or so looking for the right establishment. Wrinkling his nose many a time at the rowdy folk at some of the apparently less reputable taverns, he was just about to give up when he found himself walking into a relatively clean environment. A quick look around at the common room revealed that Vilya was here talking to someone wearing an odd assortment of clothes.
thought a very happy Damiano. After going to what he thought must have been every back-alley tavern possible in thsi city, he had finally found the one where his new friends were staying.

Damiano approached Vilya's table quickly and carefully. He could see that the place was relatively busy and didn't feel like getting into any trouble for knocking someone's meal over. When he finally managed to zigzag his way over to Vilya, he took up a seat and gave an audible sigh of relief.
"Hello Vilya, I'm so glad I finally found you! I would also commend your skills at finding the better of many taverns. It took me some time and many an open door before I could find this place."

"Hey Damiano." Vilya waved a fork cheerfully at him, she was in a much better mood now that she had had something to eat.
Finishing her plate she gave it to the innkeeper who was working through the tables.
"This place is pretty busy, it's a little more expensive than the other inns, but I'll pay a little extra to have a room without mice."
She stood carefully when the meal was done.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" She had noticed his disappearance and could only assume. It crossed her mind that he hadn't greeted Sai yet..
Tura spoke quietly into her thoughts.

"Hey, Damiano, didn't recognize me or what?" Sai said when Damiano had sat with them and addressed only his female companion.

Sai took the last few bites of his meal and rose form his seat. "Well, I think I'll head back to that tailors and see if I can't get a better pair of boots." That said, he walked out of the tavern and meandered down the street in the direction of the tailors.

It was becoming darker out and it was fairly quiet since there was a lack of passerbyers later in the afternoon then during the day. The mood surrounding Kin was quite depressing and silent when Sai opened the inn door, appearing to be going somewhere. He didn't have anything to say to him though. Kin only watched Sai carefully as if he were trying to make up his mind about something.

Damiano was more than a tad surprised to have heard Sai's voice from the heavily dressed figure. When he had turned his head to look at him, he found himself wondering how he didn't recognize the man right away. Perhaps, Damiano thought, Sai's disguise was best looked at from behind or at a distance. It was cleverly done, but it left too much visibility to be called a true disguise. Damiano was about to comment when Sai got up and left muttering something about his boots.

"I guess his disguise works well enough as it is. He stands out so much that he is no longer noticeable," Damiano laughed as he waved over one of the tavern maids and made an order. "Spiced potatoes and a bottle of your best strawberry wine, my dear," he said as he took out two gold coins from a sack tied to his belt and placed them in the palm of the waitress' hand, "Another piece if the food is presented in a spectacular fashion!" The maiden quickly went off to the kitchen, and Damiano noted the pleased look on her face.

"I do pardon my interruption of the conversation, Vilya. I am quite hungry and I figured the sooner I could get some good food less I'll have to concentrate on my stomach's roaring," Damiano said smiling under his mask. "As for finding anything of value, I found quite a bit. Plenty of little trinkets and more than one stand with a few rare components that would enhance and perhaps ease the use of my magic; however, most of the items were outrageously priced or otherwise not worth buying. A shame too, I was hoping to come across something worthwhile," he spoke in slightly disappointed tones. Damiano's visible eye roved the tavern once more, wondering who in here would most likely be a thief. He had flashed a great sum of coin and he had no doubt that at least two people other than Vilya and the waitress knew as well.

Sai continued down the street, on his way back to the tailors, he thought to himself as he went.

Vilya was probably right, these clothes seemed nice at first. We never had any clothes with this much color back home, but that might have been for good reason. I think I'll see if I can't trade them in for something a little simpler...

Stratus asked.

Sai responded.

Sai entered the shop and began a discussion with the tailor. They came to the agreement that they would trade the finer clothes that Sai had originally purchased for a set of simpler country clothes. Sai ended up with a pair of loose dark brown breeches, a white shirt, leather boots that matched his breeches, and a brown jacket. He also bought a leather belt that he slid his sword into, and a black cloak.

"Well," Sai asked the tailor, "How does it look."

"Well, any person that travels regularly around these parts would probably wear something similar. And the brown cloth is the cheapest and, therefore, most common. All in all, it suits any traveler well."

"Thanks, and sorry for the hassle."

"Why, that's no trouble at all, lad."

Sai laid a couple extra coins on the counter as an additional thanks and made his way back to the tavern. He felt much more confidant in his choice of apparel this time around, and was sure that he would blend in with the local crowds much easier now.
