A crooked smile spread across Marcus's ragged face upon hearing Kerrigan's comment about people skills. The businessman leaned back and gave an exaggerated shock expression and glanced at her then to the other newcomer amongst them, guessing her to be human from her obvious appearance and behavior.

"What?! You mean my magnetic personality wasn't what got me in your...*ahem* organization?" The man joked, faking the clearing of throat as Hunter, who obviously cooled down a bit, laughed at the comment. The man chuckled and shook his head as he let out a sigh and continued to clean already clean glasses in silence.

"Anyways...It seems to me you guys are as dysfunctional as your average American family. You should see this as a good thing and embrace it with love and...um...damn, forgot what Dr. Phil said about this kind of sh*t." The coy hunter continued as he chuckled and took another sip of his drink. "But yeah...there's always 'fun' in 'dysfunctional'." The man then added as he let out a sigh and looked over to their quiet companion. It was then he realized the woman who was fairly bubbly upon her first entrance seemed rather quiet all of a sudden.

"Um...The name is Raven. That old man there is Hunter (Don't drink his 'Gasoline'), and the two who exploded out of here are a bunch of idiots. I hope they didn't scare ya too much." Marcus asked, attempting to be as friendly as possible, but after tonight's turn of events, he's apparent fatigue was noticeable. "So you're a hunter too, eh? New to New York?" The business man then asked, attempting to stir their attention away from the two explosive characters that have just recently left.

Finally calming herself & finding the ration of this situation, she growled at the arrogant bat and how he had side-swiped her existence with the slink of his eyes. She hoped deeply to claw them from his head but instead she took a deep breath.

Immediately rushing back into the bar she wiped the black blood away from her mouth with her personal handkerchief. Realizing that everyone believed her to be arrogant & ignorant, she only nodded to the other hunters, "I am sorry....but the golden rule is that you get treated the way others treat you & if that makes me arrogant & ignorant in your eyes, so be it." her eyes intensified to a bright jade green as she stared at the other hunters, "So I'm sorry." forcing aside her pride and bowing her head, exiting with not another word, not expecting anyone to really care or accept it but she paid her due & carried away from the bar.

Noelle jumped slightly as the conflict escalated as quickly as it did, though as things got worse, her hand went to her waist, a small switchblade waiting there for her should the need arise. She might not look it, but she was more than capable of defending herself and those around her if she needed to. Thankfully, however, that was not her real reason for being here. Noelle was interested in people, specifically in keeping hunters mentally fighting fit. And from what she had seen in the last few minutes, she had a lot of work to do. The two trouble-makes both disappeared, her eyes lingering on the door as the Lycan huntress made her exit, blue orbs then turning back to her drink. She seemed lost in thought as Marcus, as he introduced himself as, came back in and took a seat at the bar once more. Smiling at him as he raised his glass, welcoming her, she laughed softly, finishing the small amount of her drink that was left before setting it back on the counter, covering it with her hand to show that she didn't want anymore.

"Well, I appreciate the welcome, thank you Raven. Looks like there is a lot of work to be done, if that is any indication of how things are going in this City. Hopefully we can work through some of those issues. I'm Noelle, by the way. Noelle Brock. Can't remember if I introduced myself before all that or not," she said with a small grin as she extended her hand towards the man, eyes lingering on the black-haired huntress momentarily. She seemed to be brooding on something, no doubt related to her fiance and the events that just transpired. Hopefully, the woman would realize that her introduction was meant for the both of them. She was intrigued by the pair - for the most part they seemed the most "normal" whatever that meant in a group of people that devoted their lives to tracking down and eliminating creatures of the night. It was especially interesting to see a creature of the night be a hunter...maybe she would have some time to talk about those trials with the woman if her work went as planned. Turning her attention back to Raven as he tried to make her feel comfortable, she gave him a grateful smile before answering.

"You're sweet to be concerned, but things like that no longer scare me. I've been a therapist for years - what you just saw doesn't even scratch the surface of the confrontations I've found myself in. But, to answer your questions, yes, I am a new hunter, and yes, this is my first official night in New York. Despite everything, it seems like a nice enough city." She was cut off from continuing as the huntress from before returned, apologizing to everyone else before turning and leaving once more, without another word. Momentarily she thought about what the girl said, wandering if it would be prudent for her to correct a few holes in her logic, but left it for now. It would be best in the long run that they keep conversations to her office. If they had conversations. The last thing she wanted to do here was make her help necessary.

"Oh, and please don't be offended if I seem rather quiet. I'm more of an observer in most situations. Comes with my profession I suppose," she said with a small laugh, hoping that the pair that remained would understand why she had not said much. Sometimes it was hard for her to turn her therapist side off, and the last thing she wanted was to turn off her present company from coming to talk to her. This was the point she started building professional and personal relationships with them. She had to, if she was going to make any change around here at all.

"No, we only brought you on for your good looks and amazing drinking ability. You're just another pretty face to us - don't take it personally," Kerrigan responded to Raven, giving him a small wink as she reclined back slightly onto her bar stool. Raven continuing to describe their organization as a dysfunctional family made her laugh, her crimson eyes once more returning to green as she thought about what he said. In the times she had been here, she had seen more breaking apart of their "Family" than anything. Dysfunctional didn't even begin to really describe it.

As Raven turned his attention to the new huntress, she did so as well, giving her a pleasant smile as the woman introduced herself and sort of explained what she was doing here. Kerri vaguely remembered rumors of bringing in a professional shrink from a while ago - something that a lot of the different hunter groups around the nation seemed to be doing - but she wasn't expecting someone like the blonde that sat before her. For one, the woman seemed...normal. A human that still had a sense of humor, kept her wits about her and managed to keep upbeat despite the filth of the city around her. She knew she heard the woman's name before, even if she couldn't place it, and she was glad to see that she seemed to have some sort of hunting prowess - the vampiress had not failed to see the switchblade the woman was fingering when the conflict started.

Their lycan friend returned, making some apologies before she turned and left once more, Kerrigan again faced with the decision of whether to go after her or not. As a senior hunter, she felt an obligation to guide the new hunters - teach them how to get along with one another - but with Krii returning and everything else, she needed to take a small break from diplomatic duty. Turning her attention back to the new shrink, she smiled, laughing slightly as she said that she was more of an observer.

"Oh, don't worry. We need more of those around here. As you can tell, most of us are take-action ask questions later kind of people. I know I tend to snap to judgements and actions before thinking them through. You'll have a field day analyzing me," she said with a laugh, shooting the woman a fanged grin. She had a feeling that the two of them were going to get along just fine. The best part about it was that between the confrontation and now meeting a new hunter, she was getting her mind off the things that had been ailing her before. She loved distraction.

The dark haired Hunter gave a playful frown as he looked over to Kerrigan and her comment. "A pretty face, eh? I'll remember that..." He warned as he then broke into a chuckle and shook his head. Especially how he met Kerrigan in the dark streets of New York. "Yup. Definitely shoot first and ask question later folks here." Turning his attention over to Noelle, Marcus was about to reply when the Lycan from earlier burst in to give a quick apology. This caused the business man to chuckle even harder as she then wandered away.

"Heh, That was...interesting. Most folks tend not to return from the scene of the crime and let time do all the apologizing." The man mused as he took another sip of his special brandy before finally glancing at the Therapist, thinking about what she said. "So, Miss Brock, you're a Shrink, eh? Now that's very interesting and can prove some what useful..." The man mused as he gave a nod of his head, somewhat pleased to know there was another hunter here with a daytime job. In the underworld of a hunter, it seemed strange to have both a daytime life and the hunter life, at least to Marcus.

"Well, I'm currently a Project Manager for a national accounting firm. Which is pretty much the whippin' boy for big wigs and the guy with the duct tape for situations." He explained as he waved a hand over his disheveled attire. "Anyways, If you ladies will excuse me though, I've got to change into something more...comfortable. Heh, I hate the idea of running around in my work clothes." With that, the man gave another quick gulp of his strong drink and gave a bow to both ladies before slipping off the stool to head towards the Haven's secret entrance.

But before he vanished, the man turned to Kerrigan and Noelle, offering them both a friendly smile. Then the business weary man vanished below.

A few moments later, Marcus returned, looking much fresher with his devious smirk on his face and his change clothing more to his liking; he sported a large black trench coat Hunter gave him as well as his tactical vest with hundreds of pockets on it. He let out a sigh of relief as he felt much better than earlier as he took his seat at the counter, glancing at the crew around.

"Hunter, my good man. I'll take a glass of water. Gotta stay on my toes tonight." The man mused as he glanced at the ladies before adjusting himself a bit on his seat. "Also, don't worry about my gun, Kerri..." Marcus moved the flap of his coat open a bit to reveal a holstered semi-automatic pistol by his side. "I got a spare pistol. Taurus 1911 with UV bullets. Got silver bullet magazine in my other pocket." The man explained as he carried a smug smile. Though he didn't like the Taurus pistol for its heavy weight, it was a powerful gun. The .45 caliber rounds would make a nice dent in any inhuman creature if he had to, at least better than his Jericho does.

"So what you gals got planned for tonight? Aiming to go bar hoppin' or huntin'?" The man then asked, his voice sounding eager for action.

Alethea noticed the night was growing darker & darker, her skin crawled with goosebumps and excitement 'Tonight is a new night...I hope they don't hate me.' she whispers mentally and with the flip of her straightened fiery hair, she sported the bad girl look tonight. Her eyes flashed with a jade green color and accentuated by the bronze cream eye shadow over her lid & black eye liner. She attired a tight black regular halter top that showed off the intimidation of her broad shoulders & chest, but it stopped right below her belly button, showing off the small of her stomach & lower back. Her pants were a dark gray, faded & stretch, skinny jeans that contoured to every curve of her lean & fit legs. her black leather pump heels, reaching about a good 5 inches with her devil red colored toes, showing through the open toed area.

Her lips were dazzled in a crimson red & showed off her perfect pearly whites at the bartender, as she slid seductively onto the stool. Her eyes scanned the area and she flipped her hair this way & that, feeling the smoothness after taking her flat iron to it. It was thick, long & luxurious as it burned brightly in the dim lights, with all the different lively tones of auburn & red. The hair always suggested the wild & passionate side of her personality and she loved the luck she had in the gene pool with her hair.

As she sat for a moment, she remembered the man from earlier that shot her with those BB things...'What were they again...?' she stared over at him for a moment, with her eyebrows pinching in curiosity & a half-smirk slinking over her pleasantly plump lips. Although catching herself staring, she immediately waved to the bartender again, "Hey..." she timidly begins & then heightens her confidence in herself as she looks him in the eye, "I know it was my fault yesterday. Hopefully this didn't predetermine your opinion on me because I know your bar is important to you & many others." she wisely mentioned to him and then half-smiled like usual and shrugged slightly, "Jack & coke?" she suggested to him with a hopeful smile that her apology did some good to him.

After realizing she had been rude, staring at the other man, she turned back to him, "And thank you sir." she says to Marcus with a sincere smile, "You were brave enough to act against us even when we were raging like hormonal jack asses..." and with a odd expression on her face of her next sentence, "Thank you for shooting me....I guess." she chuckles at herself and only crosses her legs, awaiting her drink.

Although her song came on and the bass begun to beat against the floor hard and the electric guitar roared to life throughout the club & she grinned, 'Burn it to the Ground' by Nickelback had echoed through the walls as she bobbed her head to the beat, showing her favoritism in the alternative & heavy rock musicians/bands. She lip-synced the entire song, word for word as she whispered the words to herself & began to kick her head softly as if she was ready to head bang and then chuckled at her love for music.

The female from earlier returned as well, this time changed in a new set of clothes that set the mood for seduction. Marcus grunted as he glanced at the glass of water offered to him by Hunter. The younger hunter gave a nod of thanks before glancing to the woman who was addressing to him. He listened in silence as she thanked him and then chuckled a bit as he stole a glance at Kerrigan, recalling their first time meeting.

"Eh, If you want to really show appreciation, keep that temper in check. I ain't partnering up and putting my life on the line with some sack of sh*t who can't keep their sh*t together." Marcus was blunt, but it was the mood he was in. "I understand you guys got your little demons, but you gotta remember that so do us Humans. We all have our little demons. But as folks with demons that can kill, you need to have a higher level of restraint than us." Taking his glass, Marcus sipped the cool clean liquid.

"Anyways...yeah. It's alright. Ain't the first time I had to shot something to cool it off. Just count yourself lucky the guys outside didn't unload on both of you." The man sighed as he felt a wave of burden levitate from himself. Though it wasn't really his job to be doing pep talks, Marcus had a silent civic duty to do so.

"The name is Raven. This here is Noelle, and the lovely vampiress you may of offend is Kerri." Marcus then said, offering a crooked smile as he attempted to make light of the situation as he introduced the two females sitting between him. Nudging his head to the silent bartender, Marcus grunted. "The old man is Hunter. He runs this place and it would be wise to apologize to him more than to us. If he wishes it, you'd be dead." Marcus added as he grunted in amusement as the age man made his hand into a gun and pretended to fire it at the woman in a playful manner.

Letting out a sigh, Marcus figured he better start up a conversation or the awkward silence would follow. "Soooo...what are we dressed up for?"
PostPosted: Thu Sep 10, 2009 10:37 pm

A dark figure manifested itself in the middle of the air, quickly taking on the qualities of Veroen. The dark figure solidified, revealing that it was indeed Veroen. Veroen stood up straight slightly frozen in a swarm of emotions, though on the outside he seemed rather robotic.

He looked at Marcus, and spoke quickly, with a blank expression on his face.

"You must take me outside of Haven. I cannot leave unless I do not know the way to Haven. You must blindfold me, and take me outside of Haven. Now. I cannot stay here. We do not have much time."

He paid no attention to Hunter, Kerrigan, or the new hunters. Veroen, on the inside, was struggling with much pain, and anger, as well as the Void. He could not believe he heard what he had heard come from Edith's mouth. He needed to leave Haven, while he was still in somewhat of a state of shock.

Kerrigan smiled as Marcus came back into the room, decked out in his hunter gear like she was used to seeing him. Nodding as he told her not to worry about his gun, she chuckled softly. She still had to look for it in her room - in the morning she had been in too big of a hurry to get herself together to check to see which of his stuff was where. Green eyes flitting over the gun he showed her, she raised an eyebrow slightly, more of an impressed look than anything.

"Well, I like how you always come prepared," she said with a laugh, turning her attention to the lycan girl as she made another reappearance. The raven haired huntress simply looked at her, glad that she at least understood what she did wrong in this case. It was important that the hunters get along, and they would not stand for confrontation like that again. The hunters were interesting because they were a blend of the races, and it was from this that they could either draw strength or would find their ruin. Kerrigan grinned as Marcus introduced her, giving him a soft, playful nudge at his choice of words. Her green eyes connected with the lycan huntress, speaking for the first time since she first saw the girl.

"I'm not too offended. Just make sure to keep your temper from now on. We have enough internal issues without having to deal with that kind of stuff in a completly friendly group setting. It's not often we have that kind of peace," she said simply, starting to say something else when Veroen made his appearance. He seemed agitated, like when they first met, but this time he was telling Raven to take him out of Haven. He can't know where it is. She quirked an eyebrow at him, thinking about saying something, but deciding it was better to keep her mouth shut. After all, if he wanted her to know he probably would have addressed her as well. As it was, he seemed to only have eyes for Raven.

Marcus looked over his shoulders as he notice Hunter tense up from his cleaning of already clean glasses. It was obvious something was up and the sudden appearance of Veroen only prove that. Marcus raised a brow as he finished his glass of water and tilted his head to one side. Though he wanted to ask questions, he had a feeling the vampire was urgent.

"Alright. Sure." Marcus said as he nodded his head slowly. Glancing over to the aged bartender, Marcus noticed Hunter already reaching beneath the counter to produce one of his cleaning clothes. The dark haired man gave a nod of thanks as he got up and went to the one eyed man and began blindfolding him.

"Um...you gonna tell me why I'm doing this?" Marcus asked as he finished and began leading Veroen outside and out the bar.

Meredith wasn't very far behind Veroen when she made her way up the ladder and into Hunters only to set eyes on Veroen and issued the speed she rarely used except in emergencies since she liked to try to keep a lid on the whole strength thing. It was difficult enough for her to remember not to crush everything she held but taking off at blinding speeds was something she was still test driving as well. However, she managed to make it to Veroen perfectly and didn't overshoot or undershoot and quickly moved in front of both Raven and Veroen. "Stop! Misunderstanding. I want time to explain."
