If you tell them you do not know the tree gloats. "Why, I didn't think you would. It proves I am the better tree." But you are not a tree at all!
When a tree had seemed to clear its throat as he walked by, Burn paused to see what it wanted. Only to close his eyes and open them again, glaring away from the blasted thing. He was sorely tempted to walk away in that moment. Get as far from it as possible. It began to prattle on as if they'd never spoken before.
Lucky thing, being able to forget that.
"Enough, enough with you," he snapped, glaring at the tree after it'd gone on and on about three 'friends' instead of its proper two. "I dinnae care one wee bit about you or your friends. Dinnae see the importance of your height. Measure yourself. Best yet, keep your maw shut before I slice you down." The thing began to talk away. Something about him not being as good a tree as it. Fine by him, he figured as he began to walk away. Wasn't a tree anyways. He could see the exit of the woods. He'd done his job. Five trees. Now he could move on in peace.

A tall man, his skin is dark and eye a bright gold color. Two sets of black horns curve upward from a mass of curly, short-cut pale hair. BridgesBurn has taken on a Gryphon coat of black and gold accents. The black and gold hat is accented by a golden feather. A loose white shirt can be seen under the coat, along with red pants and a heavy brown belt. An eyepatch over his right eye completes the look.
The next tree wasn't any better. "I don't think so," it said as she approached, moving warily after the last tree. "The last people who were here were terribly mean about it. Terribly, terribly mean and it just won't do anymore."
"But I'm not mean!" She waved one paw for emphasis, then realized that paw had the blade in it. Well, it wasn't like she knew how to use it!
"If you come any closer I will have to resort to violence I mean it! Don't come any closer!"
Hmph. "Fine, I won't!" she barked, her ears folding back. Sheesh! Some people's trees!

Casting about for some foliage that wasn't a huge jerk, she came upon a more ordinary looking tree. Hopefully this one would be a little more normal acting, too. Wait, did trees normally act in any way at all...?
Eh.
"Hello," the tree said.
"Hello!" Her tail wagged, encouraged by this sign of friendliness.
"I have a small question," the tree continued. "I have two friends, Dilly, Milly, and Nilly. Nilly is taller than Dilly, but shorter than me. Dilly is shorter than Milly but taller than me. How tall am I?"
"You have t... wait, that's three friends, not two, I... wait... what?" Her tail slowly stopped wagging and began to droop. "I can't keep the illies apart! Why are you all named the same thing, anyway?"
"Why, I didn't think you would know. It proves I am the better tree," it said, smugly.
She made a face. "I'm not a tree. Shows what you know."
Ugh. She was done talking to these things. The only thing that had been nice-ish was the teeth! Maybe she should go look for teeth instead...

The next tree Taima encountered was thankfully teeth-free, but it still had a mouth on it. She pondered its question its question for a moment before replying, "Your riddle doesn't make any sense. Nilly can't be both taller than Dilly and shorter than you if Dilly is also taller--"
"You are very wrong."
"But--"
"You are wrong go away."
Taima couldn't argue with that logic, so she left.

The willow tree wasn't a bit more chatty as she passed it again. Branches pushed her along, quickening her pace, until she tossed a murderous scowl over her shoulder at it as she carried on her merry way and headed back for the talking sign post for her swag.

Small and dark, from ashen skin to jet black coat. The hatter was utterly monochromatic. A tiny hat rested on silver hair at a slant, a veil of lace draped over half her face. Grey corset cinched a narrow waist, dark leggings wrapped equally dark legs and disappeared into shiny black boots. The only spot of color was the eerie golden glow of her right eye. I'm mad, you're mad. We're all mad here.
3: You reach a tiny tree and it looks up at you and only has a row of smiling teeth. "Guess what I'm hiding!"
If you cater to it then it tells you "I'm hiding something in my mouth!" It sticks out its mouth and lo and behind it is a fragment! +1 Fragment.
The next tree was very small, hardly taller than Ruffian's knee. He looked down at it with a curious expression, waving a hand to dispel some of the smoke around his face, and then squatted down in front of the little thing, a grin on his lips.
"You're hiding...a petal!" he said, and the tree laughed at him, opening its mouth (which he had to admit, was sort of weird, but that was beside the point). Laughing, Ruffian plucked the fragment from the tree's mouth and pocketed it, eyes dancing with amusement.
"Thanks for that," he said, and gave it a tiny pat before straightening.

He had lamented over a username, sighed through the character customization sheets, and after a small chat with Alice AI and the card battle system tutorial, he was ready to get this started. More than ready. Let's get going sort of ready. Perhaps that was a side effect of the White Rabbit class? He remembered reading that it was supposedly the faster of the classes out there...
All thoughts ceased as an orange haired mouse went flying past him, only to trip a few steps later in her haste. Ornot grabbed his heart and flailed with his free arm, surprised by the sudden other user in such a close proximity; but hey, she was the only one around him, so maybe --
"I can hold that for you?" He offered helpfully, pointing at her tail that insisted on getting in her way.
It was an innocent question, he swore it was.

"Just got out," The other shouted to the strange man. He sort of liked the way he looked. A weird horned guy. He had at least seemed to be better at this than he was if watching him was going by anything. He waited around when he finished his last tree. He was hesitating. He could make friends here. That might be a good idea if there were monsters about.
"Name's Willard!" He called as he started to walk out. Maybe they could meet up some time if it all worked out.

What in the world... where... was he?! this was not home, nor where he'd last been, reading a book while meandering about. Perhaps he'd gotten far too lost in his book because of that... his mother had always told him he had his nose too deep in his books! but what AncientPages saw around him was... unlike any other. Staring around in awe, he slowly pivoted in spot, adjusting his glasses, bright eyes widening, pupils dialating even tinier.
"wow..." was all he could murmur.
This was like a page right out of one of his heavy fantasy themed story books! Amazing! When the initial shock wore off, he quickly got to inspecting the place, and looking around to see if any others were around... and then noticed his new threads. Looking down at himself, his hands patted the long, fluffy coat he now sported and... his ears twitched, but felt lighter than before, and larger.. Reaching up, he twirked them and tugged at them lightly. These... were not his ears... a bit stunned, he froze and stayed tried to comprehend what was going on. However as his eyes slowly slid around to look at what surrounded him, he noticed a sign.. surely that would have some answers!

A small fight with her own tail had ensued until Kousagi had wrangled the thing between both hands, though the end curled and uncurled carelessly in her grasp. She had just gotten it to stay mostly still when someone spoke behind her. With a start she jumped into the air and whirled around, blinked at him once and tried to keep her dokidoki's to herself. "M-my... Tail?" The tail curled once before it went still and she shrugged. "I guess? Um..." The girl sidled over, though she was beginning to second guess herself on this. Maybe other players shouldn't hold her items! Maybe they would steal them gaaasssspppp! But he was a real white rabbit in a waist coat she couldn't just distrust him! Right? She hadn't had a chance to really investigate the community so maybe people were trustworthy?
"Why don't... We do the first mission together? Then if we get lost you can hold it!" Kousagi smiled brightly and stuck a hand out at him to shake quickly, even if that might be strange for a game. Oh wellll! "Nice to meetcha... Ornot?" Look, she couldn't judge usernames ok.
Once again she shot off from her spot to find a tree, since she'd gotten the mission report down. "Let's investigate trees! It'll be fun!" The first tree wasn't fun... It was confusing... And sincerely lacking in shinies to collect.
