Also, I approved two join requests, one was Lebki and the other guy seemed intelligent enough. There is a third there that I'm hesitant about, especially after reading her journal. So I'll let somebody else make a second opinion on that.

Somebody indeed. And what day do we actually publish... I have a feeling i'm going to end up handwriting my article during lovely time with the relatives. I'm the only one of the grandkids on my mom's side that isn't in college, and all but two on that side have graduated. So it's nothing but a bunch of old people there.

This being my very first post in the guild, I'd like to start off by greeting everyone.
Serieve told me I could introduce myself here, so here I go. I'm a French-Canadian, I live in a large province called Quebec, which is in the east of Canada. My father is British so obviously, my first language is English. Unluckily for me, I have to go to school in French. As you've probably guessed, my English classes are complete and utter wastes of time. Thanks mostly to books, online tutorials and my parents, I've learned a lot in grammar and spelling. I myself find my English to be quite good.
I've been writing seriously for about three years now. I write mostly fiction, but have been known to write lyrics.
That's about all I have to say for now. I'd like to end this by thanking Serieve for letting me in.

We sort of need the people. Other than me, there's Jahoclave, who has been here since day one and consistently contributed to his column, and lets everyone else do the really stressful work. XD Then there's Scarlet Jile, who has his own thread of writings that he lets us take from if we're short on submissions. He usually hangs around a lot.
Alicemae is our head chief and editor, but as I've told you, most of the (working) staff is caught up with outside things. I drop in now and then and make sure things don't die. There's also Nemea, who writes a few pieces and helps with everything in general. She's also our top reporter. Araia Naishi is our graphics person, but I haven't seen her in quite a while.
And those are our main staffies. All of us except Jile have been here since day one, but don't let that intimidate you. All you have to do is get the hang of things and contribute, etc. Again, we need the help.
Thanks for coming. Welcome to the Press. ^^
P.S. Oh yeah. To everyone, here are some links!
November Issue is here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11195827&page=1 December Submissions are here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11221573
P.S.S. Thank you, Jile. I try.
P.S.S.S. Everyone should go look at the (empty) draft because it is special this month. Anyone remember Broggy? xd

ShadowXCat You said that you needed people, so if I may? I sent a submission back up to alicemae, but she is not on, correct? Anyway, like you can probably tell, I wish to work at the 'zine once again. Despite what you may think, I am not completely new to this site, nor to the Press. If you want to resubmit your piece, you can go to the submission thread or post it in the Mounds thread here. Seeing as we now have 2 new people, I think I'll go back to my little list of Things to Do at TGP: Generally, we staffies disregard our so-called 'Positions' and simply help where we can. Among the things we do are: -Reporting news for the Neighborhood Watch. This is actually a very easy task. You can take things directly from the Announcements, or give a short line about a good thread you found. My favorite place would be the Site Feedback section, which gives previews of long term projects and other such things.-Voting for Best of the Issue and other things. Every issue, as you know, we have a Best of the Issue (BOI). The winner is awarded 500g. This is always voted on by the staffies. If we have no staffies around to vote, then we are forced to go without, sadly.-Giving opinions and ideas. Often times we have discussions in the Headquarter's thread, where we generate ideas and suggestions. Every new mind to help think these things over is an asset.-General editing. Watch for mistakes in the issue as well as in our submissions. We want good quality work!-Keeping track of our threads outside the guild. Our submissions thread has a tendency to sink. Keep an eye on it and post something now and then to keep it afloat. Not necessarily "BUMP," just a comment. There may also be questions that need answering.-Critiquing in the Mounds. You don't have to critique anything, but someone should. You don't even have to do it all at once or as it comes in. Just every now and then, critique one or two things. After critiquing a submission that you believe could be published after revised, send it to the writer and ask them to listen to some of your suggestions and make the necessary changes. Once the piece has reached satisfaction, post it in the Oasis. Lastly, it's okay to add something of your own to the Mounds, but please, don't make a mound of you own.-Occasional judging. Occassionally, we may have a contest that needs judging, and we prefer to have staff members do the judging.-Decide your literary contribution to the 'zine. Again, you don't have to add something to each issue, or any issue at all. You can work behind the scenes if you wish. If you would like to contribute, post your work in the Mounds to be looked at, and allow another staff member to give you feedback. Or, if you are contibuting to a specific feature in the 'zine, such as La Revue or Writer's Aide, post your article in the appropriate thread and make sure another staff member gives you feedback. That about concludes the list of things to do here, should you still wish to help us. There are probably a few more I've left out, but surely nothing major. Simply keep in mind exactly what you want to do for the readers as well as for yourself. Thank you!

I was going to reinvite myself, but I do not believe I am able. I apologize for any misunderstanding. As for The List, I would be glad to help with anything that needs it, so long as I am able.

Maine, ugh.
Stupid place Maine, the only good thing out of there is fictional. At least Missouri actually produces it's shitty products. Like Cheryl Crow.

Serieve Scarlet Jile Haha, I go to the same school (same building, even) as Stephen King did. Jile's claim to fame. So, my school has produced absolutely nobody, therefor, I won't have to share fame with anybody. So suck it. Besides, my state produced Mark Twain, and he'd pwn King any day of the week. And, if that doesn't work, we'll send our Wal Mart army after you. Though, I can't decide on a rant about educational institutions part duex, a year in review, or I Saw Mommy Killing Santa for this month's column.
