When he was younger, Isto would have probably cringed away from replying, or quickly changed the subject... But by now he was used to his arm, and merely shrugged, glancing down to it. "I was born this way. It just kinda...grew with me."
The deaf SM, once again terribly thankful that he could read lips, blinked. After a moment his mouth dropped open, and he stared in awe at the journal. "Really??? Howsit work? My journal's just a normal paper thing."

With the hair, and the arm, and ...and the bigness! *Clapping his paws together, he pulled his tail up to his mouth and began to chew on it softly, his eyes shining with utter happiness that he had gotten to meet Sharkie, who was quickly becoming his idol.* ((*She laughed and continued to pet and rub him, keeping an eye out for anything in particular he seemed to like.* Aww, so cute. And he looked good in a thong. >.> <.<))

Shiro smiled warmly at the babbling SM. He opened up the journal and took out a pen. "It's magic because.." Shiro said scribbling down something.
Hello my name is Shiro.
"It talks back." Shiro said watching his words disappear being replaced with new ones.

Isto blinked...the laughed almost nervously, absently scratching the back of his head. "Thanks...umm... I'm really not that great, trust me. I just happen to look...different."
"Wow..." was about all Banda could manage. A journal that...talked back? That was brilliant!! That was... He really needed one of those. "Where didja get it?" he asked, glancing up at Shiro.

Shiro smiled. "Quietsnooze gave it to me." He said smiling down at the little SM. He held out the pen infront of him. "Would you like to try?" He asked sliding the book towards Banda.

He offered a weak little laugh for Slush's benefit, but his mind was already flying back to the food fight... the argument... the fight with Remy.... fight with Jen.... wading in the lake... drowning... drowning... dark... Isto groaned, shaking his head in an effort to clear away the thoughts. His normal hand rose to hold his head, eyes momentarily closing, only to reopen seconds later. He smiled apologetically, slowly lowering his hand. "Yeah... yeah, just like that."

I hurt you... friends don't hurt other friends ...do they? *He hoped he hadn't just made his new friend mad, he didn't mean to. Maybe he had a bad experienced with potato salad and got sick all over the place... he wouldn't like potato salad much after that now would he. Yeah... that had to be it. Bad potato salad.*

Before Isto could react, Slush was up on his shoulder and...hugging his neck, and nuzzling his cheek. That was..rather awkward. But then, was it really? Acia would have done the same, he though. Acia and Slush were a lot alike... Probably why he liked the kid so much. He smiled faintly at Slush's words, reaching his normal hand up to scratch the infant behind his ears, nodding slightly in agreement. "Ahh, don't worry about it. Just brought up some bad memories, s'all... You didn't mean to."
