Alger runs a finger under his chin as he watches things go by so wonderfully. Another day, another joyful occasion of magic. Three now. He'd stop the bullets for now and work with them on the main weapon. The missile batteries are installed, and they're working on putting the turrets in..he's quite pleased. This place will be a regular base of death before he's even done with it. Hm..Death Garden..not bad. But he'll go with Neo-Balamb for now. Turning, his cape flutters as he signals more work done on his masterpiece..soon, the Carronade will rise.

In the darkness of Balamb's night, a man wearing the uniform of a SeeD crept out of the shadows, approaching the main entrance to Balamb Garden. He was unarmed, and moving slowly, so that any guards on patrol wouldn't just shoot him on sight. He had a few important proposals to make..

At the entrance were indeed guards..but there was more..in fact, a man was there, dressed in full regalia, enjoying the night air it seemed. The white haired man turns his head to the one approaching with a curious expression on his face..either it was a raider with more guts than he'd given the SeeD credit for..or someone that got left behind..? Either way, he'd had no vision about this. Sometime he enjoyed surprised. He waits for the figure, raising his hand for the soldiers to lower their guns..

He stopped upon seeing the Galbadian commander just standing around at the front gates. Then again, Galbadia more or less controlled the entire area, so he had nothing to really worry about. He knew the man was their commander because he had caught sight of him during the battle for the Garden. He'd hoped that the battle would have taken care of his problem, but she had somehow slipped out before the fighting ever started.
You're the commander, yes?

He tips his head curiously..those unusual red eyes staring at the young man addressing him. Hm. The nature of the primus..ah, what a test. The light and the dark on each hand, a possibility. Kill the annoyance now..or hear what he has to say. Hmm. Alger was nothing if not frugal with opportunities handed to him. He puts on a cordial smile and snaps to attention almost in a playful fashion..
"Ah, yes, that would be correct. I am Alger Sigwald, Colonel of the Galbadian Army and head of this occupational operation..what can I do for you young man? Lose your way from your comrades?"

Truth be told, he was more or less scared out of his wits. Not because he was surrounded by Galbadians, but because he feared what the others would do if they found out he'd been conspiring with the enemy.
Nida. SeeD Rank 14, former pilot of Balamb Garden. I came to offer you an opportunity, Colonel. How would you like to get your hands on a sorceress?

That raises an eyebrow. Sorceress..? Well, why not give him an open ended offer. He chuckles..then snaps, two soldiers running inside to fetch, of all things, two chairs, and a small table. He has the table sat down, and he sits as well, offering the other chair to the young man he's now speaking to more seriously.
"Do have a seat. I'm intrigued by what you've just said..but I must ask..you offer me a sorceress. Do you mean that dark haired witch, Morrina, or the Descendant of God, Rinoa..? They're both Sorceresses under Cid's tender mercies..call me a curious sort."

Nida sat down in the chair and began to make himself as comfortable as he possibly could be, then sat bolt upright.
Morrina? A sorceress? I had no idea... I had meant Rinoa, but if things go well for you, you could take them both.

"Mmm. Morrina is a Sorceress..hers is..a unique gift. A voice that bewitches and hypnotizes..heals and destroys. She is a bean sidhe of sorts..a 'Banshee' as they're often bastardized to. She's got quite a gift. She was a..guest..of D-District for some time. She got out, recently, with SeeD's help. Her power is..contained.."
He taps his neck..
"By a collar on her throat. That little choker doesn't seem much, but it has probes going into her voice box and such..into her nervous system too..it blocks the waves her voice puts off and allows her to speak without using her power. It also supresses her non-voice related sorceries. Odine does such excellent work, wouldn't you agree? Otherwise, Morrina would still be able to expand time and compress space..she's a Time Witch."
He chuckles..then places his hands in one another, sitting them on the table.
"Tell me more of what you propose. You have my full attention."

Nida stared somewhat dumbly at the backstory, then shook his head to clear it.
Interesting. In any case, there has been dissent recently in the ranks of the survivors as to what to do. Half want to stay and fight your occupation, the rest want to flee. They've concocted an operation to allow those that want to flee to escape. They're already moving groups into the outskirts of the city. Once the entire group is in positioned, they'll attack your men at the train station en masse, hoping to draw a large number of your forces away from the Garden into urban combat in the town, so that those who wish to flee can do so from right under your noses. From what I know, both Morrina and Rinoa plan to flee the island.

"Interesting. I was going to leave it to the men, but knowing this, I think I'll attend this little soiree myself. I've always loved to dance, you know. It's one of my many passions. It's said that you can learn as much from someone watching them dance as watching them fight..have you ever heard of that saying?"
Alger rises then, pacing here and there..talking both to Nida, and to himself at the same time..
"A waltz is very much like life. You lead your partner and let them lead you, but one is always very obviously in control of each movement. As each beat changes, control may shift, but it remains on one seat firmly throughout the dance. In a sense, the army is my partner. I lead them, and though I sometimes follow their lead here and there, I consider myself to be the leading dancer. You understand what I mean?"
He ponders on this, and taps his chin..
"I suppose what I'm saying is that ultimately, in this little dance between the SeeD and my Army, there has to be one leading, and one being more passive even though it may have control every so often. I'd like to think that you understand which has the leading role. If you didn't, you wouldn't have come to me..you recognize an opportunity. Sorceresses are threats to humanity. Their powers are more than human..they are the powers of long forgotten Gods.."
He sits again, leaning forward slightly against the table.
"I am appreciative of this knowledge. I will act upon it accordingly..mmm..I think I can formulate something, though it will require the sacrifice of many men. Well, one cannot make an omelette, is the saying I think? Ha ha. In any case, young man, I am quite thankful there are people like you who think the right way. My men will let you pass at any point now..welcome to the winning side..is there anything you..require..for your help?"
He grins then..like a cheshire cat..like the devil, almost..

Nida nodded slightly at the Colonel's statements about the sorceresses, his hands clenching into fists.
SeeD was created to fight the sorceress. But now SeeD is content to let the enemy live among them as though it were nothing. And it's all because our "Commander" is ******** the only visible sorceress left in the world. And if SeeD can become so complacent because of that, then maybe it is Galbadia who should be controlling this Garden.
But.. In exchange for my information, I want a weapon that can kill the sorceress. Or something that will deny them the use of their godforsaken magic. Or both. Both would be nice...

"Morrina is already contained..Rinoa is..a threat..yes? But I know what it is you seek..though it requires..something..special. I'd like you to follow me. I want to show you what it is that will equalize the field of battle. We've been quite busy renovating. So much to do, so little time..you know how it is. Come come."
He gestures, standing..heading into the Garden, towards the elevator. He turns to one of the men and says something, quietly, and the man runs off apparently to get something. Alger steps into the elevator, waiting for his new..friend..to come in as well..it's set to go up to Cid's office, the main control center, obviously.
"What you see up top will show you where the real power is. Galbadia's dream isn't my dream. My dream is the destruction of all things that must be destroyed. What you seek to remove is just such a thing.."

Nida stood and followed the man silently, cautiously eyeing the things that had changed to Garden in the meantime.
All that really doesn't make much difference to me, Sir. The sorceresses must be eliminated. And that's the bottom line.

"Of course. I understand what you are saying."
He waits..as the soldier walks into the elevator, handing Alger a long case. He takes it, and the elevator closes and goes up..up..into the command area. He leads the way then, to the elevator, which goes up into the command center with the three on it..and past it, up into a new chamber. This new chamber goes up into a domelike construction that is for now, open to air. He reaches into the case, and pulls out what seems to be a sword..instead of being straight in one direction like a katana or european blade, the end becomes a diamond-shaped formation, giving it a heavier look..runes are inscribed upon it, and the hilt and crossbar are made like a dragon's head and fangs.
"This is a weapon I was having made for destroying magical opponents..but I truly don't need it. It's a hobby of mine..it just needs fuel, as it were, to activate it and give it its true power.."
Alger walks to one of the three capsules near the 1/4 finished big cannon..right now, mainly all that's finished is the seat, and beginning turret area, as well as the rotation platform. Alger shoves the black blade into one of the capsules..one would swear that there was a pained scream as the pale light around it died and the sword burst into a deep violet flame..and the eyes of the dragon, ruby stones, come to life..glowing. He sheathes the weapon, handing it to the young man..
"This sword, Harbinger, is a weapon of death and chaos. With it, you can resist the hypnotic power of magical enemies like Sorceresses. Also, it will pierce their barriers, cut tehir spells as they are cast, and kill them or severely sicken them when they are struck with it. It is truly a masterpiece..something I do in my spare time, you see.."
He waves his hand in several gestures, and six bursts of silver light form runes in the black blade...and on the outside of the sheath..
"Until you wield it with intent to kill, no mortal thing will be able to see it. Only those it can kill..like Sorceresses..I of course can see it as I made it. May it serve you well."
