Lin smiled brightly up and waved at him. Granted she had to look a good ways up now that she thought about it.
"Hi Adonai! I'm doing fine, and you're fine too right?"

Adonai smiled at Lin and nodded. "Yes ... I have to say that I am. Life here continues as it always has ... small changes ... small problems ... but for the most part everything is wonderful."
He paused, looking over the group of children that were in the room. "Well ... I suppose I should get to work," he murmured, looking back down at Lin. "I'll talk to you later, I'm sure."
And he brushed past her and the two children she was with and started checking on the others.

Roydon was in awe.
"He's so huge!" he exclaimed, looking at Lin. "Is everybody here huge like him?"
He was used to tall people - being elvish, of course - but Adonai was far taller than average, even for the Southlanders.
Arwen giggled. "Mostly," she agreed cheerfully. "Mama and Papa aren't as tall but Aragost is, and Elros is even taller!"

"I guess so... not everyone back home is as tall as the elves," Lin replied.
She found elves made most people look short, it was kind of funny because her Daddy was tall by human standards, but he was still kind of short here.

Roydon grinned. "Maybe I can grow as big someday!" he exclaimed. "That would be really neat!"
And suddenly his sister was back, tugging on his arm once more. "Come on," she whispered to him. "Adonai is going to make sure we're not hurt anywhere."
Roydon looked over his shoulder at Adonai and nodded, then turned back to Lin. "I guess we gotta go get checked out," he shrugged; then he grinned. "I'll talk to you later again!"

"Alright," Lin replied with a small wave, "I'll see you later."
On in the day anyhow she would probably have to leave tomorrow as usual.

Hours later, all of the children had been bathed and put in bed - except for Roydon, the only one of the lot who didn't want to sleep, wasn't tired. Instead, he was sitting up with Haradhel and Elrohir, and Donovan and Kara and Lin, listening in on the adults' conversation and petting Saki on his lap.
Ahren and Arwen were already in bed, too, though it was by choice and not really because they were tired.

Now that the children were all (for the most part) tucked into bed, he was able to sit back and relax. He sat next to Kara who was more than content to be leaning against him.
"Well that wraps things up for now, I guess it means back home tomorrow," Donovan murmured thoughtfully.

"If Celebor's awake," Elrohir chuckled. "I saw him heading upstairs earlier ... it's amazing he didn't fall asleep walking, he looked so exhausted."
"If you want to go on ahead," Haradhel offered to Donovan and Kara, "I'm sure it would be all right if Celebor stayed an extra day to rest - after all, he wouldn't be missing much time in your world, but he would be far better rested that way."

"Between the shifts of watch and travelling, I'm not surprised that he's exhausted," Donovan replied.
Not to mention always being on alert, kind of reminded him of his father's version of a camping trip. He really didn't like his father's camping trips.
"I just wonder if he would be alright with not finding us when he wakes up."

Haradhel looked at Elrohir uneasily.
"That ... is a good point," she admitted. "But what then?" She looked back at Kara and Donovan. "There's really no point in sending him home exhausted, just wait until he wakes up on his own?"

"That would be the only choice," Kara replied softly, "We can stay here a bit longer. It wouldn't hurt after all."
Kara herself didn't mind of course, though she had no idea how long Celebor would be sleeping, but as long as he was alright that would be fine with her.

"From the sounds of it..." Donovan mused listening to Kara, "That is probably the only way to do it. So whenever Celebor wakes up then we'll be set to leave."
There was no way after all he was going to drag Celebor out of bed.

Roydon broke into a wide grin at the news.
"Yeah!" he cheered, just about dropping Saki. "Then I can play with Lin more, and Rosie can play with Miyu again!"
His sister had taken to the winged child a lot better than she had to Lin - probably only because she hadn't appeared human.

"Well someone is excited," Donovan murmured.
He wouldn't imagined that the kid had so many of the same interests as Lin. It was kind of scary in a way.
Lin giggled at that, "Well then, just more fun for us then."
