My twelfth year was around the time I was waiting for all the kids around me to grow up. It seemed so close. Whenever we all turned thirteen I thought "Finally, maybe everyone will start acting normal". But they only got worse.... they became teenagers.

Oh God Stray please don't tell me you're a Japanophile. Pleaaaase tell me you aren't!
They never grow up sadly, they never change. The same snot nosed assholes in highschool are the same cocky ******** except worse because they aren't on a leash now that the parents are out of the equation.
At 12 I had everything figured out and I really did. I just dropped the ball once I hit college. I used to want to be seen and heard and make a statement, make noise, leave memories. Now I just want to shrink away and be invisible. It's hard to explain even to myself seeing as how I still have my flamboyant sense of humor.
College really beat the fight out of me, something I didn't think anyone or anything can do. College was when I realized, I really couldn't do anything I wanted, only what I was good at... if that.

I used to be a Japanophile, and for your information I did change. I'm not obsessed with anime, I don't say things are kawaii or whatever the hell. I think what I longed for was a certain feeling of Japan. Old anime made me happy. It's not the viscera of the culture that I found fascinating. I didn't latch onto the easy stuff in some attempt to identify myself with Otaku culture or Japanese culture. I wanted to dig deep and see what was really inside it all. I never could though. I could never find away to penetrate the surface to find what made these things from Japan as beautiful as I found them.
My first taste of anime and Japan in general that I recall was probably Kiki's Delivery Service. Anyone would have to agree that's a hell of a start. I don't know why I loved it but I did. It's probably one of my favorite movies of all time. When I think of it I don't think of my childhood, I think of that feeling. Like the world was both infinite and accessible, that magic was real, and that no matter what bad things may come you could turn it around if you just believed in yourself.
That's how I felt as a kid.
:: That little love story helped too. I've always been a hell of a romantic. I can still tear up a little when something gets to me.

The forest scenes in My Neighbor Totoro gave me the same feeling. A late night show with subtitles on channel 18, the shows without titles but pouring with the alphabet. The alphabet really intrigued me and it still does. Roman letters are so dull and drum compared to Chinese/Korean/Japanese/Sanskrit/Telugu/Hindi/Thai characters.

What coordination? ^^
Question began rearranging his pushpin conspiracy web "why... why."
Huntress rubbed her eyes "oh boy."
Nightmare looked back and forth between the two "what's it this time?"
Huntress folded her arms as she watched the Question "he read up on the statistics for that My Little Pony show and found out that its intended audience is outnumbered by 13-24 males by 75%."
Nightmare looked back at Question "dia-f*cking-bolical."

Me: *pounces Questions* Say something! Anything!
"Question does have a handsome voice." Pamela chimed in, reading her newspaper. "Huh, some scientist is saying I'm the reason a tribe believes it can't grow anymore food." She flipped to the next page non-chalantly.

Question looked up at Haur "something, anything."
Nightmare looked over Ivy's shoulder "are you?"

Me: *squeals and nuzzles Question* Best. Teddy Bear. EVAR!
She scoffed and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. I see my name in this news paper almost every damn day. Last week a couple killed themselves trying to emulate my death to become like me. If it wasn't my intent I'm not taking credit for it."

Me: So what's the conspiracy behind you and Huntress?
"Why? Because they find me to be an admirable role model?"

Nightmare shook his head "no that they killed themselves to try and be like you."
Question looked up suddenly "what?"
Huntress loaded in a trank dart into her crossbow and took aim at Haur's butt.

"I'm sure they planned on resurrecting shortly after."

Nightmare shrugged "guess they missed that train." He flopped onto the couch next to Ivy and read through Hesserian's Spear.
Question retraced his map "if I divulged that information, we'd all be in danger."
