Am I early or too late? Sorry that I wasn't in the guild lately. I've recently been 'hired' by the new cosmetician manager working at same store where I worked as a full-time cashier working part-time hours. So far, I had no training but I guess it's all about learning as you go along. Anyway, where was I? Oh yes... HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY, xXRoderich_EdelsteinXx!!! lol

Camwen Camwen How about a few rounds of Canteen Poker!! (thanks again Shay for reminding me) Canteen Poker Here's how to play:Roll five 10 sided dice (using the forum "post action function"). The highest hand wins. There are no face cards or colors (so no flushes).hands are in this order (listed lowest to highest - again, whoever rolls the highest of these wins the round):
Highest total (if nobody even gets one pair) One pair (two numbers are the same) Two pair (two sets of matching numbers) Three of a kind (three numbers are the same) Straight (all numbers are sequential -they don't have to be posted in order) Full house (three matching numbers plus two matching numbers) Four of a kind (four numbers are the same) Five of a kind (all five numbers rolled are the same)*Each page is a new round *players may roll only ONCE per round/per page(you can still post as much as you want) *the pot starts at 5k! *If the House wins the roll (I roll for the house), the pot is doubled for the next page/round. Otherwise whoever gets the highest hand wins whatever the pot is currently. *free to play - anyone can jump in at any time! (moving the instructions forward wink ) OK! Back to the poker game! I'm going to go ahead and start a brand new round. Nobody beat the house again so the pot is up to 20K!! Everyone can roll again and anyone can jump in even if they haven't played the previous rounds!

I love poker because I actually don't understand the rules, so I have no idea who might win until Cam tells us. whee

Sammirah I love poker because I actually don't understand the rules, so I have no idea who might win until Cam tells us. whee LOL I tried so hard to make the rules understandable - but it does help if you know a little about poker. What I mean about the "hands" is that there are different combinations that are possible with your 5 numbers. Say you have two "1's" but all the other numbers don't match anything (it's called one pair). Someone else can also get one pair but beat yours because they have two of a higher number. So two 2's will beat two 1's and so on. But if someone has two pair (two sets of matching numbers) such as two 1's AND two 5's - that will beat someone with only one pair of numbers that match. Then if someone gets three numbers that match (three of a kind), that will beat out anyone with one pair or two pair - even if the actual numbers are higher. For example: someone with three 1's will beat someone with two 9's. It might seem a little arbitrary which hands beat which other hands but it all has to do with probability. Certain combinations are more likely to occur than others. So the more rare combinations beat the more common combinations. (example: you are less likely to get 5 numbers that all match than only two numbers that match). If you go back to my original rules that list all the different combos, they are listed from the easiest to roll to the hardest to roll. The harder they are to get, the higher the hand it is - and highest hand wins. I don't know if that helps or just makes it worse. lol Edit: looking at our current round: I got two 6's in my roll, then Lily got two 10's which beats my 6's. Officer rolled a pair of 5's and then you also got two 5's. Lily's 10's are still the highest hand so far.

I actually probably almost fully understand. You explain the rules just fine. I just have a tough time with complicated things. Chess is a total mystery to me.

A poker game, and I almost missed it? Not on my life.
Also, I'm trying to quit smoking. Any tips?
