I am highly, highly ashamed of you all.
No, Clip9 was not in the right at all about continued attacks against Legions. There was a miscommunication between the two of us, as I was going to talk to the Legions leaders about their continued Feud.
All of you would be in the same position he would be in, if you were farming an Alliance single-handedly and suddenly had to stop when you weren't aware of the NAP in place when you joined.
This was not a matter for everyone to get involved in. This is between the Commanders, myself, and Clip9. If you have a complaint, direct it to your superior. Do not handle it on your own.
What's the point in making a hierarchy in the first place, if no one is going to follow it?
In any case, I want to talk to the Commanders about whether or not we need an NAP with an Alliance that has trouble dealing with one single player.

I sent a message to Alexi first, he's usually the first person to get online of the 4 commanders and then sent a message to clip9 asking what the hell was up. As you saw he pretty much said "******** you I don't care about the rules".
In retrospect I could have handled it differently but I just got off work, was tired and freaked out. We've been trying really hard to work on our appearance as a whole and having someone attack someone on our NAPs list is a pretty big no no. Makes people think "We'll whats the point if we're the only ones who plan on keeping to our word".
Anyways I'm glad he's gone. He had no intention of stopping, swear to Mod the guy sounded like Eisenhorn is his ******** role model. For the Emporer and all. (Sorry, just borrowed the book from a friend for airplane reading material =D)

Arcadian I fully intend on inviting him back once he finishes playing with Legions. It's your call, and I'll admitt the matter should have been left to the higher ups. We did get a little jumpy on that. But, personally, I'm not to sad to see him go . confused

Arcadian I fully intend on inviting him back once he finishes playing with Legions. Could I inquire as to your reasoning there, Arc? I'm trying to understand -first- and -then- react... lately I've been doing the opposite and I'm trying to fix that.

Arcadian I fully intend on inviting him back once he finishes playing with Legions. Considering how I acted, I probably don't have much say at this point, but I advise against it. He may be a guy who is powerful, and probably useful, but he knows as well as anyone that we had a NAP with Legions. He's been confronted with it several times. If he can't hold off like that because of our treaties, even if he's winning, how are we to know he's not going to do it again? I'd rather have a group full of rational people than powerful people. That's why I'm somewhat uncertain about Poop's actions, lately. He's not so different. I'm a warlord, yes, but I try to at least follow an honorable path in it. Sometimes, I can't help but wonder if I'm the only one.

Now that I understand what the hell was going on, if he can be brought back and be under our command, I won't have a problem with it.
He's got a nicely sized army, the only problem being that he might be a wee bit big for his britches. I'll welcome a beast of burden, but I won't put up with any Mad Dog but myself.

Oooh. Drama. I saw an IGM from Catrix about the situation, but hadn't had time to adequately look into the matter. Looks like I'm coming into this a little on the late side. Sorry, all. Do keep me in the loop, and Arc I will look forward to that discussion on what we look for in our allies and our pact-brothers. I'll try to do some research and come in with an idea or two about my thoughts, but as I said - I've been a little busy recently.

What's the point in making a hierarchy in the first place, if no one is going to follow it? In any case, I want to talk to the Commanders about whether or not we need an NAP with an Alliance that has trouble dealing with one single player. I thought we did follow the hierarchy. The message I passed along to you and Evil, I did not write to Clip9, and I replied to the message sent to me saying that it was not my area, but the sector commander and our leader were now aware of the situation and it would be dealt with. If we are not allowed to vent our frustrations with a rogue member here, where are we? Or am I simply not allowed to question your decisions? Chain of command, yes, and I will abide by your decisions. However we should also be allowed to discuss them and know the reason behind any major change in policy, eg allowing members to disregard an NAP we currently have. It doesn't feel right. I know you are trying to make our alliance strong, and having an NAP with such a weak alliance probably does us no good, but Clip9 should have held off attacking them until we rescinded our NAP. That is all I am saying. Edit: Okay, that was an over-reaction, sorry. I was upset that Clip9 was apparently above the rules the rest of us follow, and then with your response it felt that our new alliance structure means the opinions of the rest of us do not matter anymore. On re-reading the last few pages, I did get ahead of myself and misinterpret what was being said. Apologies. *goes into the corner for a post-tantrum sulk*

There is a little more to it than any of us seem to understand. Let's let Arc explain what happened before we start screaming at each other.
I'm one of the worst about that.

Ginnokage *watches quietly from the sidelines with big eyes* I think we all need a hug, but then I'm part of the touchy-feely contingent. 3nodding *puts down the weapons briefly and hugs* I think it's perfectly understandable that I'm upset. Someone's telling me they're -ashamed- of me for not knowing something They Didn't Bother To Tell Anyone. That's not going to make anyone happy, but it impacts me pretty damned hard. *several paragraphs snipped* I'm angry and I'm frustrated and most of all I'm -hurt-. I'm not psychic. I will likely (hopefully) never BE psychic. And I resent being punished even verbally for breaking rules nobody bothered to inform us about. I want to know what the rest of the situation is, and any other secret deals that're going on... before we hit another land mine like this. HME started as a loose confederation of friends, and this is -not- how friends treat each other; I think the loss of that is why I'm staying upset lately... there're so many new people that the core of the alliance is getting lost in the noise.

Nicofelle gets his resources back:
---------------------------------------- Misguided Kinjion,
I noticed today that you struck against my good friend and ally, Nicofelle, killing his men and taking what was not protected by his walls and stores. If there is some reason behind this attack, please tell me. If there is no reason, then return what you have taken. The Holy Modist Alliance does not kindly receive attacks upon it's members, nor does it forgive them.
Mah'Ahrrir the Red Emperor of the Black Keep Subcommander, Quadrant I ----------------------------------------- Subcommander Mah'Ahrrir,
The attack was launched in order to gain access to resources as expediently as possible in order to enable my hero to conquer oases. However, I assume that you will find such a reason inacceptable, even though it is deeply engrained in Teutonic nature, and therefore, I will restore the captured resources to Nicofelle after my merchants have returned from their roamings.
Also, should you have need of my considerable army in a time of war, feel free to call upon me for assistance.
Pax,
Kinjion Prince of Hesparia ---------------------------------------- Royal Kinjion,
My apologies on the tone of my earlier message, clearly I mistook you for a man of a less reasonable nature. I would be extremely happy to see that those resources were returned, and I am sure my ally would be as well. I understand your willingness to raid, but I may suggest leaving those in my alliance out of your sights. Perhaps in time, we may find it mutually beneficial to be closer friends.
Regards,
Mah'Ahrrir the Red Emperor of the Black Keep Subcommander, Quadrant I --------------------------------------------
I'm still watching out for you, buddy. wink
