((Hehe allright, good point xd )) Mwali paused, turning his path back towards the cave they had pretty much claimed for themselves in the small group's short stay in the pride lands. Wheather the little prince liked it or not, Mwali's massive mouth came down and scooped him up by the scruff of the neck. Mwali was large enough to carry the young lion- or drag him -a bit before tireing. Knowing the cub was likely to run off ahead of them and blurt out all sorts of nonsense he decided it was best to keep close tabs on him. Wheather the cub was forced to move his feet along the ground to keep up to pace with the lion who held his cape or wheather he was small enough to hang from Mwali's maw, he had him secure and woudln't let him out of his sight for quite a time.
Moving into the cave he released the cub and laid himself accross the mouth of the den, preventing his escape. He remembered that Jasiri had hunted earlier that morning and the thought of food before crossing the desert was a wise one- though now there was one more bratty mouth to feed. "Look Kimeti, you don't have to like me but you DO have to respect that I AM your uncle, your elder, and for the moment your superior. I don't like it any more than you do. If I had my choise I'd stay here in these lands until my dying day but if there's one thing that I will not do its turn my back on my family when they're in need. If you can put up with me in the pride long enough for you to grow and take over then that would be enough." He thought on that for a moment and decided to add, "However, I will NOT hand over the throne to you unless you prove that you'll be a greater king than my father was. No more of this brutal nonsense and no more of this "full blooded" nonsense either. Blood can only stay pure for so long. Love's bound to cross over many, many prides. No more slavery- it's foolish. It makes us lazy and weak while making them determined and strong. Lastly I'll not have you ruling anyone with your attitude."(( Sorry for the delay guys, I was taking a bath. I think I'm gonna take a short nap now, I'm still kinda not feeling well whee ))

Kimeti couldn't quite believe that Mwali had the nerve to carry him in such a fashion, but sadly there was little he could do. True, his hind paws reached the ground but just barely, definitly not enough to give him any chance at getting leverge to stop the humiliating way he was being dragged along. Finally after Mwali let him go a soft growl formed in Kimeti's throat but before he could say or do anything Mwali went on a rant. As much as he wished to just jump in somewhere, he could not think of a thing to say. For once, words were beyond him and he only sat there watching as Mwali explained himself.
Finally after the red hued lion finished his speech Kimeti could only blurt out one simple word, "I..."

((weeee! I'm still here, though barely... sorry for taking so long to post everyone, school is evil)) Sometime between the appearance of the strange adolescent and the beginning of the fight, scent on the wind and spots on the horizon had moved the golden femme to move from her perch and started towards the group. As her amber eyes took in the fight, Koho's anger flared. She paused outside immediate vision of the group, her pelt helped with that camoflauge. She hated the thought of spying on her family, but she did not want to be seen by the newcomer, if she could help it. She was also out of hearing range, which would be a likely good thing for Mwali, since it was a good bet that Koho would be strongly against some of the words he had been using to rebute the child. Any lion who spoke like that new firekin did obviously had the mind of a child. As Mwali and the group crossed in front of her, her croaching form hopefully invisible to an unaware eye, her sharp eyes looked to Mufasa. She needed to speak with her brother, there were serious matters afoot here and now.
Her form slowly seperated itself from the golden grass patch she had hidden in. "Brother!" Her voice was a soft, forced whisper as she slinked forward, shoulder blades rippiling across her back. "May I seek an audience with the great King?" She neared enough to ease the whisper into a low speaking tone. She did not want anyone to notice her, not at this moment. She knew her king must be very pensive from the strained expression on his face. Not only did she wish to speak about the trials Mwali was parading blindly into, but also the fight that had broken out and his thoughts on both of the Firekin. Her heart was far from betraying her, but she was worried that the trust she had placed in the prince was misguided. She was not one for lowering her guard. "You seem troubled my king, I think this conversation will benefit us both."

"Look Kimeti...", his tone softened dramatically and a faint smile came to his face in hopes of comforting the young lion, "You're not the only one that lost your father. I left because I felt that I was no good for that pride, but if I'd not left I very well could have died as well- and there'd be no one to come back and at least make sure that you can grow up and take Kui's place. Him and I were close when we were younger... and I miss him very much. Arguing between you and I won't bring him back or make the situation better." He reached a paw out towards the cub, trying at least to make peace between him and his nephew, "I know I can't take your father's place, Kimeti... and I don't want to, but if you let me, perhaps I can be the uncle you deserve."
Mwali didn't want bitter feelings between him and what remained of his family. Prides broke apart too easily if that was allowed to happen. He did care for the cubs and regretted not having grown close enough to them to really know them. Perhaps this was the goddess' way of doing that though Mwali hoped that there was a greater purpose behind it. Perhaps Kimeti would grow into the best firekin king there ever was- though he was a half breed. Perhaps it was her will that the prides united and that they co-existed in peace. Nothing was for sure...

-How he'd missed his sister's approach was unknown to him.. perhaps the excitement of the things going on? Perhaps just a lioness' inborn grace? Reguardless, Mufasa looked slightly shocked as his golden pelted sister stood before him, and motioned silently for her to follow in the other direction of the small pack.
Waiting until they were out of ear shot, he finally spoke softly, tiredly.- "What is it Koho?" -For a brief moment the hint of a smile formed on his muzzle however, teasing her gently to hopefully rid her of the formalities.- "Planning to run away with the red rouge? Ready to be a queen already?"

(Note: Anything in bright red is 'Makadari' voicing his concerns about the whole situation. Pretty much it's the lessons that Kimeti endured with his grandfather that are haunting him and causing conflict within him.)
Kimeti turned his head away from Mwali but listened to ever word that was being said. The more he thought about what had happened since running into his uncle the more he realized that what Mwali was saying was more-than-likely true. This was causing an immense turmoil for the young lion. Don't trust that traitor! He left the pride for his own selfish reasons, no true Firekin prince would do that!
Didn't Mwali not harm him when he, Kimeti, attacked him and caused a few wounds on the elder lions hind leg? Yes, but Mwali was the one who provoked the attack. Did he? He only tried to stop me from leaving. It doesn't matter!
It just all didn't make sense!
"I...I don't know what to think anymore." He muttered softly. "What you say about father is true, he taught me a lot about valor and courage, but grandfather had his own paw in my teachings and it's all so confusing."

((Meep sorry I haven't been on eek you guys are so far ahead but I'm loving reading all this!!! xd ))
Sukutu meanwhile had tracked after Jasiri, watching her from afar as she hunted down the zebra, even though it was hunting she made it look like some graceful ballet of claws and fangs as she caught the groups feast.
For once the adolescent was smiling, not only would he be going of an adventure, he'd be acompanying two Firekin and the most beautiful adolescent he had ever seen in his life...
He trotted closer, watching her with his pale eye's before he got close enough and then cleared his throat loudly before speaking.
"Uhhh that was a great hunt you just did there Jasi!" He said, his lips curling into a stupid big grin as he looked at the brown female anxiously.

Mwali's brow wrinkled into a deep frown at the mention of his father. Makadari was a cruel creature by nature. He rules without mercy to any- even his own kin. A young lioness had been slain for having created cubs with a rouge- killed for love. If only Kimeti knew that he was born under simular conditions... Makadari would have killed each of the cubs and their mother if he had found out. Kui might even have been subjected to the king's paws if that was the case. Though it was tempting to reveal that dirty truth to the prince to further prove his point, Mwali would leave it up to the mother or the prince himself to figure out. "Makadari was a cruel ruler, Kimeti. He only knew how to rule with a blinding pride. He killed his own family, banashed them, took innocents as slaves, and ignored his own son." By this Mwali meant himself. Had Makadari spent any time with him at all he would have turned out to be a very different lion indeed, "Don't set your standards by him. He didn't know the meaning of mercy. A good king should know mercy and rule with that as his first virtue. You never know when your life will depend on those that you showed mercy to. I had to learn that." He smiled softly, turning to glance towards the young brown lions in the distance, "Before I left I thought like you did- that they were under me and that whatever I told them to do they should do it because they were not of the blood. But they kept me alive in the desert, they cared for me when I was wounded. They've become family to me." Turning back it seemed his expression had softened even more, "Don't be so quick to judge."

((lol... I forgot to watch the thread, then had to read over 6 pages... XP well, at least Sarabi wasn't missed much.)) The qeen of the Pridelands walked slowly from the cave where the pride denned at night. She felt weak and trembly, a cough lurking somewhere in the depths of her chest. The plauge had reached even this idolic place, though in a softer, gentler form. She cleared her throat, eyes a little glassy from fever. Sarabi had passed through the worst of the illness, but it lingered on, sapping her energy and keeping her laying down most of the time. Her joints ached, but she ignored them. She wasn't sure if it was the illness or the beginings of age that made them so stiff, but a walk would help to warm and ease them. She suddenly had a great desire to see her king and mate, to be reassured that the plague hadn't hit the Pride as hard as it had in the other lands. She gave a lionesses' calling roar, though it caught on the cough towards the end, ending in a sputter. Sarabi raised her muzzle and sniffed the wind, catching the faintest scent of her lover.

Jasiri looked up from the zebra carcas and smiled at Sukutu. She had been spending alot of time with him lately, and she had grew very fond of his presence. "Thank you, I learned from the best." She said, thinking back on her teachings from Taka, the kind cheetah, and Teule, her son. She hand't seen them around lately, but she knew they must still be here. She would have to contact them before she left. "Can you help me drag the carcas the rest of the way, its getting kind of heavy." As they dragged the dead zebra, she could see Mwali talking to Kimeti under pride rock. She hoped they were working things out. Kimeti seemed so angry, she hoped he would come to love his uncle. She looked back down at the carcas, them back at Kimeti. She wondered...had he already learned to hunt? Maybe she could teach him. She got excited just thinking about it.

Koho could faintly sense the shock that momentarily tensed the lion's muscles. A mischevious smile slipped across her features before her mind sharply did an about-face, this was not a time for foolishness, there was much to speak about. She moved her body through the grass in the implied direction, keeping easy pace with her brother. Amber eyes filled with brief worry that she had disturbed her king at an unconvinient time, until they met with his and the slight smile was detected. Tossing formalities to the wind she quickly responded to her brother's miscontrued assumption, "Far from queen Mufasa, you know I could never handle the responsibility. And sand was never my favorite." Her golden head dipped into the soft grass, the white tear lines contacting with the soft green. "However, what I wish to speak about does concern the matter. I would certainly remain in the Pridelands if that was what my king and queen wished, though if it would please you, I am always willing to protect my son and his new friend in this adventure."
As the other reason she wished to speak to her brother crossed her mind, her merry atmosphere fell. She remembered the fight, two red coats. She hadn't seen who the other red pelt belonged to and she certainly preferred to be informed of all things pertaining to such things, "Who was the other firekin? And why were they fighting? Please brother, tell me what you think of Mwali. I worry at times that my heart will betray me and will cause me to betray my pride. Love is such a tricky thing...." She paused, thinking momentarily, "Sarabi and yourself were prechosen to rule correct? Sometimes I wish that father had chosen a proper mate for me, I think at times it would be easier if I didn't have to chose myself...." The femme's voice, usually strong in her opinion, was racked with indecision and doubt, her normally strong face reflecting the inner conflict.
