RanmaxHikaru Too upfront! You have got to be kidding. When Aeris first met Cloud she was prying into his personal business like there was no tomorrow and if Cloud didn't have a problem with that I'm sure he doesn’t mind Yuffie either. Maybe Cloud doesn’t take her seriously at first but I'm sure that he dose later on or else you wouldn't be able to take her on the date. Also the number of affection points at the beginning has nothing to do with who Cloud likes more. Aeris has the most because she asked Cloud on the date in the first place. Tifa has the second most because she interacts with Cloud the most. And Yuffie is third because one she is originally a secret character, and two you don't get her until later on in the game so she has less time to gain affection points. The point is that Yuffie is a dateable girl just like Aeris and Tifa and has every right to be included in the triangle.

of course he takes her seriously battle wise
and thats why he invites her with them
but romantically? I just dont see it
the reason that yuffie and barret really are there
is for entertainment purposes
not because cloud has a thing for them
well actually there are alot like siblings
I mean even in advent children on the highwind
Yuffie says something like Cloud is still a pain in the a**
or something I cant fully recall
but doesnt that seem more of how you'd describe an annoying sibling?
seriously thats a great way to describe my brother
I'm not too much into the Yuffintine fandom
so I dont know enough to aruge with you

I see lovers and couples call each other "pain in the a**" all the time. That really doesn’t mean anything. And as far as Yuffie as Cloud's sibling Ewww!!! Yuffie is a potential love interest not a sister!

.[.pink.spider.]. soadshuyin Alright, WHERE does she say in the game that she doesnt love Zack? Sure she makes a slight claim while sitting with Cloud that its behind her, but this couldve just been a natural reaction to claim youre single, since they had just met and Aeris immediately seemed to take fancy in Cloud. Dont try and say that it was in the novels, since those were fan-written material that was packaged and sold under the Squenix logo. And how can you say shes exageratting a scene when youre doing the same damn thing? She has pointed out MULIPLE occurances through the game and the movie while you seem to cling to a few minor instances within the movie alone. Listen to yourself next time.
I dont think that Aerith is the type of person to hide her true feelings
and lie just because she is around Cloud, or another guy for a matter
thats not like her >>

Aerith "It doesn't really matter."Did it ever acre to you that maybe talking about Zack makes her sad. It sounded like when she said "It doesn't really matter" she was trying to cut the conversation short because she doesn’t want to be reminded of him. And also by saying "they weren’t serious" sounds like she's trying to cover up the fact that she feels bad about him. Not to mention that actions speak louder then words. If she didn't love Zack then she wouldn't have been attracted to Cloud like she was in the first place, not to mention that throughout the whole game she keeps bring up Zack's name. Only near the end dose she really start to tell the two apart from each other. But by then it doesn’t mater because she dies and her and Cloud will never be together.

Aerith. Although Cloud left to join Soldier for Tifa, it changed when Aerith came along.

When Aerith says he's a real ladies man, etc...
This to me shows that she gave up on her realationship quickly.. if he never came back, 'was a real ladies man, and probably found someone else', when as matter of factly, hes dead, wouldnt this show that Aerith doesnt have much faith in her realationship? And why wouldnt it be safe to assum that shes not very faithful in her other realationships as well?
Also consider, maybe upon seeing Zack dead, seeing what truly happened to him, her faith in him was re-newed along with all of their memories of being together.
I hate Aerith for a number of reasons too, but I can admit to times when her and Cloud seemed like they could be together--
AC zooming in on her and Cloud's hand... I dont consider to be one of them. It doesnt MEAN shes the only one who can touch him, when obviously he and Tifa touch a lot as well. When they were laying in the flowers, their hands may of not of been touching, but they WERE touching *I rewatched it because of you, lol* And the scene seems to take a lot more of an 'intimate' feel then just the holding of hands. Did you notice, it 'zoomed in' on Cloud and Tifa's faces while they were laying in the flowers? Does that mean that Tifa can also touch Cloud, like your hand theory must surely, state? And surely, like Soad said, you're only evaluating one scene here...
So, yes, I guess Tifa WAS being rescued in the end. But why didn't make a note about the other scenes I mentioned? Because those must count as valid proof? Do you have any scenes, that count as valid proof too?
And what do you make of Tifa helping Cloud while he was in his subconsious? If she cant touch him, why was SHE able to help him? If she doesnt really understand him, why could she help him while he was in that state?

Look a wolf head Promises Ring on Tifa's hand. Matching Cloud's earrings and pendent. When Tifa is talking about family and telling Cloud to stop running the camera zooms in on Tifa's hand with the ring on it. Cleris like to make a big deal about Aeris being the first person Cloud sees after Sephiroth has his little speech. So I have rewatched and reanalyzed the seen and here it is.  Now if Cloud thought about Aeris after this was said I would probibly have to agree with the Cleris however he gose on to say more.  After this is when he sees Aeris, Zack, Tifa, the kids and then all of them as a family. So what dose this say? It says that Aeris and Zack were both very important people that have defiantly been taken away by Sephiroth. Tifa and the kids are important people that can be taken away by Sephiroth. And after that thought he suddenly gets the strength to fight Sephiroth again. So this can't be used as a Cleris cannon proof since this seen can be taken either way.

  So much for Tifa not knowing Cloud. Tifa knows that even thought Cloud has been away from them recently he still keeps his phone with him signifying that he doesn’t really want to be alone but he feels he has to because of his Geostigma, which they talk about earlier. It also talks about the meaning of the cell phone in the Reunion Files.   Here is another thing I have noticed. If Cloud really didn't want to have anything to do with Tifa then why dose he listen to her messages. I know lots of Cleris say "Oh Cloud has to listen to her messages to know his next delivery." Well, conceder this. If he really wanted to be left alone then why would he be going on deliveries to help Tifa provide for the Children?

I think that Cloud liked Aeris because of all of the emotions that they shared when they were together. They had their good and bad times but they stayed together throughout the game until Sephiroth killed her at the end of disk one. *still cries a little when bringing that up* <(; _ wink >
