"For you Phia, I won't go looking for a fight... however if one should find me then be damn sure I'm going to finish it. You can't put a tiger in a cage and expect it to lose all killer instinct." Xol smiled and tilted his head just enough to nuzzle her neck. He understood what she was saying and her emotions behind it, but she was asking him to change something rooted as deep into his being as his very soul. Then his thinking derailed, "A family..."

"I won' expect ye ta not defend yerself...Even I'd defend meself....but look'n fer trouble is look'n fer trouble...it's not good Love.-" She Stopped when he changed the subject. "Aye .....a family...if ye like...children ar' wonderful...." She trailed off a bit. She missed Aria and Devon dearly right now but she knew Aria was just too angry with her and Devon...he wouldn't understand now. Then there was D...she knew he probably didn't want to see her for some time...if ever.

"Well yes, I know..." He huffed in frustration, the thought of him becoming a docile homebody was uncomfortable for him and it showed. He would try though, as hard as he could anyway. Then his thoughts drifted to that of having a family with Phia. It was the next natural progression of course and he knew he could be a father... he had been before. That, he knew, was something he was very fond of. "Yes of course I want to have a family with you!" Xol half-heartedly smiled, knowing by her trailing off that she was thinking of her other family. The one she had left for him. He could only imagine how much that hurt her. She had made her choice though and he was going to prove to her she had made the right one. "Um, yes... I have something to... eh, well... maybe some other time" A slight flush of color spread across his cheeks.

She blinked and pulled away from her thoughts before looking over to Xol while he was speaking. She couldn't help but smile at him when he said he wanted a family with her. It was so nice to hear.
"I'd like tha' too love....very much...." She said softly trailing off as he was flustered and nervous, she cocked a brow and tilted her head. "Xol....? Ye alrigh'?" She asked.

"Of course I'm all right, I... eh, just have a lot running through my mind right now is all." Xol smiled and put an arm around her shoulder in a comforting gesture. "One thing I don't want to continue to do is sit here anymore. My a** is numb, can we go get a drink or something?"
His eyes moved around the room and the pieces of training droids melted into small metallic pools before dissolving into the floor. That took care of that anyway.

She smiled and nodded and stood up, pulling him up to his feet shortly after and she pulled him to her and kissed him with a smile and a n** on his lips.
"I love ye Xol....le's go get drinks..." She said warmly. "I could go fer some vodka."

Xol rose to his feet with the assistance of Phia before sweeping her off her own. "Yes, vodka sounds nice actually." He said before walking out of the training chambers towards the parlour. It was a slow walk, his eyes never leaving the woman in his arms as he lovingly kissed the top of her head and imagined the near future. It was only a matter of time before he did what he knew he had to do. It didn't change the fact that he was nervous.
"Straight up or on the rocks?" Xol asked as he placed Phia on a stool at the bar and moved around towards the other side to make the requested drink.

"Iced vodka? really?" She asked. "Jus' chill'd please love." She said with a purr and leaned across the bar to kiss him. She paused. "Wait...I'd like some liquid life to go wit' tha'." She said with a smile, her fang knicking his lip with her tongue.

"A good bartender always asks." He grinned and pulled out two glasses and a chilled bottle of Vodka. It was a white bottle with intricate carvings in the glass, made even more beautiful by the red Russian markings adorning its label. "Only the best, and only the commie bastards can do it right." Xol said while pouring them both a glass. He looked up to slide over Phia's drink, only to be met with her lips. While at first pleasantly suprised, he knew exactly what she wanted as she moved away, fang pricking his lip.
"Typical vampire..." He chuckled, quirking a brow before leaning in and kissing her in return, letting his blood flow into her mouth.

She only took a taste, a few drops at best to savor. Then leaned back again and pulled the glass to her lips and took a long sip.
"Not as good as yers but I think it'll suffice for a drink." She said with smile. "And yes I am tha typical vampire....but yer blood....it's like euphoria....bliss....the rarest kind of wine my dear lover....wha' yer blood is to me....I cannot describe...from tha momen' I met ye I 'as been....tha smell is sweet and intoxicating....very very 'ard for a vampire to resist tha'....when tha blood is jus' righ' perfect...."

"Well, it definately is an original concoction. I'm happy you like it so much, but I have to admit I was a little interested in the reason you hadn't tried blood from a living being before. Aside from the blood lust that you almost drank me dry during..." He smiled, arching a brow and he took a long drink from his glass. Alcohol, one of mans greatest and most disasterous creations. He was lucky it took so much to get him 'drunk'. That and it had the awesome effect of getting women to do things they would never normally do. Not that he needed it for Phia, but she was hella fun while she was shitfaced.
"So, tell me dear... what is it that you desire more than anything?" Xol asked, while focusing his oddly content crimson eyes on the woman across ftom him.

She listened while sipping the drink, it took alot to get her drunk as well, Xol knew that because they almost drank the bar dry. However she was caught off guard with that question. She looked up for a moment, expression blank then a small smile slid across her features.
"Why isn't it obvious Xol? I wan' ye...I wan' ta be with ye fer the rest of my life....'owever long tha' may be." She said softly.

"Why do you say 'however long that may be'?" A slight frown was apparent as he took another drink of his vodka. The gentle burn of the alcohol moving down his throat was pretty much the only joy he recieved from drinking. He knew what she wanted and it would just be a matter of time before his courage and the opportunity presented itself. For now though, a small part of his mind was focused on what seemed like a very familiar life force.

She looked to him with a slight sadness.
"I've died twice already....I was lucky...very very lucky to come back a second time...I almost didn't. Death can fin' us anywhere 'ere Xol....an' you need to und'rstand....if my body is destroyed....I can' come back...my soul can only key into this body....not any fake, not a duplicate....no clones....jes this one....if I die and it's lost...tha's it. My soul goes onto the aft'r life...nev'r to return. I'm not afraid of death....but I know I could die tomorrow or three centuries from now....an' I wannae spend it with ye." She said calmly, her violet eyes staring up at him, the green flecks in them glowing slightly.

((My first post. Do bear with me, as I'm going to be introducing my character. Also, if I recall correctly you said the ledge was the one part of the Keep that was not encased in Xol's shield. If I misread that long ago, I apologize :[ wink ) Give me your trust, said the King on high Our nation shall triumph, our enemies die Trust me to reign with a firm gentle hand and peace will prevail in our land The Land of Arvahel. The Tyrant Arthox's Palace. Midnight."IT IS THE FINAL HOUR!"
In the sky swam a sea of arrows. Each found a home in the heart of a man, be they good or wicked. Above him was The Tyrant. His target was above him on his terraced promenade, shrieking like some child brat. A king in the full swing of his royal tantrum.
"STOP THEM!! HIM! STOP HIM!!!"
An arrow glanced off the man's shoulder. He was alone in a sea of enemies. His army was not far behind, but his hunger had driven him to charge ahead. This was no human urge. This was the calling of revenge. Arthox. Murderer of parents. Molester of children. Rapist, liar, thief and fraud.
"He is no King...." Justice flashed before him, severing the soldier's artery before him. Blood clawed into the air, spitting into the eyes of those around him. They tried to wall him in, this beast of no mercy. They failed. His sword danced before like an over eager partner, and with each crescent stroke another warrior fell. They bayed liked wounded dogs, wishing only to flee but forced to fight on by their insane master.
"POUNDS OF GOLD TO HIS KILLER! I WILL MAKE YOU A LORD! KILL HIM! KILL HIM!!!"
The echoing crash of splintering wood resounded through the courtyard. It was his people, the men and women of Arvahel. Warriors each, and all with the same desire as Bayne. To see the Demon who ruled over them hung from the top of his palace. To have his head on a stake. Soldiers piled against the great oaken doors as the wood began to crack apart.
Bayne raced forward, drawn by the winds of fate. A giant of a man lumbered before him, hefting a mighty ax above his head. Bayne lunged between the behemoth's legs, sword slicing over the tendons at his knees. The giant roared as he crumpled to the ground. A puppet without strings. Before Bayne were the steps to the Grand Hall. The threshold of Arthox's sanctuary.
As he carved the head from a soldier's shoulders, it was clear. Sanctuary no more. The shouts of command echoed from behind him as the gate let out a final pained moan and shattered apart. The soldiers chasing this single agent of Justice now turned to see rebels pouring through the door. They fought like wild beasts with axes, swords and spears.
In the time of their distraction Bayne had made it up the flight of stairs leading to the Mage's tower. The den in which that black villain nested. There were few guards inside. Arthox had been impatient, and a fool. He was a philanderer, not a tactician. The few guards Bayne encountered had laid their weapons down.
"Go with honor, friend... you do what we have not the courage for."
He faltered, stunned by this sudden statement. The guards bowed, and stepped aside. As Bayne flung open the doors to the King's lair, he saw something which was not visible from the out of doors. Wizards. Mages dressed in purple, forming erratic symbols with their hands. Between him and Arthox was one man. A man in black.
Arthox turned to see the Avatar behind him. He brought his hands to his mouth and screamed as a child would. "HURRY! HURRY NOW OR I WILL HAVE YOU HUNG!!"
The man in black smirked. Arthox could make no threats now. He was a king without a kingdom. Maerlyn had other intentions.
Bayne's legs pistonned against the marble floor. His vision was all seeing and yet focused. He could feel Arthox's heart beart. Could see the fear in his eyes. The putrid breath trapped in his lungs.
"I am all that you fear I am...." The Avatar released his wound up legs, jettisoning him through the air. A raptor diving to taste its prey. Justice spun in his hand, and his fingers found her handle once again. The blade now followed the length of his arm. He would feel the King's bowels bleed out across her.
The first mage in his way screamed, hands flying up to cover his face as he began some incantation. It did not matter to Bayne. Before the magician could finish his words he was gargling blood, Justice neatly parting his trachea. His feet his the ground running, and as he bore down upon the wayward king Arthox squealed like a terrified child, tripping over his regalia as he attempted to flee. Justice rose high in the air, both her wielder's hands coming to the handle. The blade sang in the air, and in that torchlight chamber she glittered with fiery vengeance.
Bayne's mouth twisted in the likeness of a snarl. The man in black raised his hand and spoke, pushing the Avatar out of Arvahel and into the void.
--------------------------------------------------------
His blade bit the parched hard rock of the earth before his boots connected with the ground. The sound was resonant, forged perfection ringing against the rock. The vibration traveled the length of the blade and into his gauntlets. It was then that he opened his eyes.
Where was he? A long and narrow ledge of rock. Below him, nothing. He stumbled backwards and away from the drop, bewildered at what had come to be. He turned around, hefting his blade to his shoulder, winding it up to fight the coming ambush that would push through this arcane hallucination.
No ambush came. No swords. No arrows... only silence and the bitter moan of the wind. Bayne's blade drooped to graze the ground, the adrenaline coursing through his veins now overtaken by fear.
Before him was a massive keep. A castle suspended in space and so large that it was difficult to comprehend. He did not approach, only stood there and stared.
In the broad reaches of his mind, nothing could explain what had just occurred and no thought could console him.
