"You look so very sad, is there anything I can do to help you?" He listened as the tree explained what had happened, it was a very sad tale for the tree. "I will do what I can to help you Sir Tree." He started walking around the tree to look for its glasses.

If you don't help it out it gives you nothing and continues to sob.
If you help it out, search around the tree for glasses! Roll 1d4. If you roll a 4 you succeed in finding its glasses. It is super excited as you hand it back. "Thank you, oh my goodness, thank you indeed. Here, have this." It gives you a fragment and insists on giving you a hug, but the hug is very prickly and not very nice at all. +1 Fragment.

Another tree with confusing signs? He was fairly sure he'd just come right round to his second tree. Everything was so topsy turvy how was he supposed to know?
He gave it a good long glare but it was pointless. He trudged back to the sign. Not a thing of treasure but at least he'd leveled up. He guessed that was alright at the very least. He'd have to try harder if he wanted anything it seemed.

After looking around for awhile he returned to the broken tree and apologized for not being able to find his glasses. "I did my best, I am sorry and I hope someone can find them for you in the future since I wasn't able to." He started to walk off again, maybe he would find someone to help the poor broken tree that continued sobbing as he walked away.

WingsOfVengeance approached yet another speaking tree, its riddles frustrated him slightly. "What is with all these riddles?!" He glared at the tree and stormed off again to try and find something important that could help him out. "Vanishing trees and meaningless riddles, this is such a pain..."

"Well," Taima said to herself as she surveyed her new surroundings, her ears perking--and, yes, that was different, too--at the myriad sounds that didn't seem appropriate for the endless woods, "this isn't the worst delusion I've ever had." Her scarf twitched all on its own as she started walking, boldly meeting all of the shadowed eyes that peered out at her. In fact, considering that she wasn't a minipet and no one was trying to actively kill her, she could probably count this as the best delusion she'd ever had. She would take the addition of ears and tail and a seemingly sentient scarf and an actually quite adorable costume, as long as she could also keep the rest of her self intact.
Somewhere deeper in the woods--she couldn't say where, as they went on forever--she came across a sign that told her what to do next, and although she kept her full attention on its spiel, in the back of her mind, she thought, "Ah, here it is: the catch."

She had absolutely no problem with this. Sniffing trees was her favorite. Well, one of her favorites. She tried to bound forward, and ended up tripping all over herself. Ugh, she was wearing way, way too much... and she couldn't find her pin to take it off, either.
Bleh.
Well, she'd do her best with her little Reaper nose. "Hi!" she proclaimed, making her way over to a tree. She tried to sniff it, but it really... wow, no, it really didn't work at all with a Reaper nose. She heaved a sigh and settled for looking up instead. Up and up and up-
She stiffened, then pressed her palms against the tree, staring up suspiciously as her tail went rigid. "Hey! Hey hey hey hey! Hey, teeth!" Teeth weren't meant to just float in the air over trees, by themselves. She didn't have to go to school to learn that!
"You seem a little lost," the teeth said, making a shape kind of like a smile, which was pretty impressive given the lack of face with which to smile. "But not to worry. Everyone's quite lost here. I hope you find your way, there's so much more to get lost in."
And then the teeth disappeared. She whined and scrabbled at the tree a bit with her forepaws, but to no avail.

2: The second tree is a wide tree and doesn't look too happy to see you. It crosses its arms. "I don't think so, the last people who were here were terribly mean about it. Terribly, terribly mean and it just won't do anymore. If you come any closer I will have to resort to violence I mean it! Don't come any closer!"
If you move closer it hits you for -5 damage with its branches.
He'd been trying to avoid this one. Luck was not on his side at least. "I'm leaving, I'm leaving you blasted thing," he snarled, arms over his head somewhat to block the worst of the tree's screeching blows. Someone aught to burn the thing down. Save them all the trouble. Yet it continued to shriek and wail and try to strike him, and he retreated as quickly as he could. Repeats best count for his quest. He'd only need one more if that were the case.
Eyeing the loud tree, he made a mental note to keep a sharper ear out. Clearly eye was not helping him at this point.

A tall man, his skin is dark and eye a bright gold color. Two sets of black horns curve upward from a mass of curly, short-cut pale hair. BridgesBurn has taken on a Gryphon coat of black and gold accents. The black and gold hat is accented by a golden feather. A loose white shirt can be seen under the coat, along with red pants and a heavy brown belt. An eyepatch over his right eye completes the look.
"Guess what I'm hiding!" A tiny tree ordered Taima, smiling at her with teeth that looked sharp enough for her to reconsider this being the safest dream she had ever had.
Taima hummed contemplatively as she considered how to answer--or if she even should at all. No telling what this tree would do to her if she guessed wrong. "Okay," she replied noncommittally, and then, before she could formulate an actual guess, it opened its mouth and practically drooled a fragment onto her.
"Well," she said as she caught it, frowning down in bemusement at her sap-sticky fingers, "I never would have guessed it was this."
The tree smiled proudly at Taima as she went on her way.

Bemused, she kept walking over to the next tree, which was even longer than the first one ... no teeth, though. "Hello!"
And it moved. She jumped back, bristling, as eyes opened in its trunk. "Oh, please, you're not putting your hand in my nose are you? That's so very disgusting, and I'm afraid I haven't cleaned up yet. Very disgusting indeed. Come back again when I'm clean."
She blinked. She wasn't putting her paws into any nose... was she? She checked the position of all four with care. Nope. No noses here.

"Oh Jack, not you again. I still don't have any idea what the order is." He didn't even wait for the tree to respond before storming off again towards the quest giver. "I talked to 5 trees, quest complete I guess."

If you answer as truthfully as you can the tree says "No, why, I do not think that's the answer at all. You are very wrong."
If you tell them you do not know the tree gloats. "Why, I didn't think you would. It proves I am the better tree." But you are not a tree at all!

Ooh, a willow tree! She knew this kind well, and her tail thumped as she approached. "Hello!"
But the tree seemed to sweep branches in front of her so she couldn't get close enough for even an improper sniff. Rude. She tried, but all she got for her trouble was a faceful of leaves and the faint sting of a lashing branch. "You are NOT a nice tree," she informed it, huffily. For a moment she contemplated a bite, but Reaper-teeth were no good for that, and she still didn't trust the blade she'd somehow ended up with.

For a long, long time she just stood there, orange pigtails clutched in her hands (they were long enough for it, since they reached her knees when not being held to her chest as there were currently), a look of total wonder on her face. This place was so cool ! Look at all the colors and the sounds and look, look her username was above her head! Actually, seeing her name was what broke her reverie. She'd done an awful job choosing names and coinciding job classes, but hopefully she'd be the only one to remember that... "OK ok ok ooooohhhhhhhh k! Gotta find the first-- AHA!" With a dramatic point and toss of her orange tails, the girl shot off toward the sign with the exclamation above it. First mission, first mission, first misssiiioooonnnn!
On the way there she, of course, tripped over her own mouse tail and took a serious side track of trying to right herself and keep moving forward at the same time.

If you shake the tree it laughs happily and then spits out a fragment. It bids you your merry way as you continue walking. +1 fragment.
He had no idea what he was doing, but at least it was a pretty cool place - at least it seemed to be. Ruffian ambled down the path until he reached the signpost and its...admittedly odd request, giving it a cheerful once over.
"If it's trees you'd be wanting, I'd be happy to find some!" he said, and went about on his way to do just that.
The first tree he happened upon was a striped one. Ruffian thought a certain someone would have appreciated its bright colors, but since he hadn't seen that certain someone just yet, he had to make do with just thinking affectionate thoughts about him.
"Sure thing," he said cheerfully, and proceeded to shake the tree.
