The next seal for her to try was the "monkey" seal. Her eyes glistened as she focused on properly placing her hands: right ontop of left with palms facing eachother and pinkies laced with thumbs. Hopefully, this wouldn't give her too much trouble. As she focused on making the sign she recalled the voice Rhiam gave her. After placing her hands in the proper seal she closed her eyes and simply sat there, attempting to get a feel of what her two hands felt like together. Then she parted her hands, placed them in her lap and readied herself for her first try.
As Tenma opened her eyes she smiled in delight - she got it. She peered over at Rhiam, wanting to thank him for his advice, but he had already gone to Shiru-sensei. Now was the question, was she actually learning or was this beginner's luck?

Receiving only a nod and a wave from Shiru-sensei as he continued to watch the Uchiha with his training on the dummy, Rhaim decided that he may as well at least help the girl learn her handseals so that he'd have someone to train with at the very least.
With his hands still buried deep in his pockets the young Nara found himself back in front of the younger girl with the same tired face on. He noticed that she had been fast improving, though he had no idea how many of the handseals she knew and how many she had left. Without squatting this time, "Try making the seal, then close your eyes, then take it apart slowly and put it back together. That way you know how your hands come together when you do it fast."

As Tenma prepared herself to work on the next handseal, the serpent, her sun was suddenly blocked. Using her hand to shade her eyes she looked up into the face of the Nara boy. Her head was slightly tilted as he began talking. Instructions. This was horribly kind of him and, with a soft smile gently resting on her lips, she nodded at the instructions.
Checking her scroll to make sure she had the sign correct she clasped both hands together, making sure all of her fingers were intwined within eachother. Then, as Rhiam had told her to, she closed her eyes and begin working on putting the seal together, slowly, with her eyes closed.
After placing her hands together she opened her eyes in order to check her work. Damn, so close too. Her hands were facing eachother and her fingers were laced, but they were laced ackwardly and not quite right.

The young boy nodded in approval as the girl almost got the handseal for the serpent on the first try. Though he was fairly certain that she would have gotten it had he not barged in on her training, he would none the less do his best to help her get the handseals down properly. Shifting his weight to his left foot, "That was good. Just do the same thing again." He knew that he hadn't gotten all of the handseals correct on the first try so he didn't want to throw her off with too much information when repetition would accomplish the goal just as well.
((I've noticed how you edit. I don't edit mine. Nor do I put whether it was a pass or fail until the next post. Just different styles.))

Tenma nooded her head at Rhiam's instruction. Again she worked on placing her hands in the proper postion, then she would close her eyes and do the same thing. Then she sat there, with her eyes closed and her hand in the correct position, in attempts to get a feel for the sign itself. After she felt she had a good feel she parted her hands, while keeping her eyes closed, and laid them in her lap.
To her frustration, when Tenma opened her eyes she was even farther off from the correct signal than before. After blowing a puff of air at the hair that was hanging in her face Tenma flexed her hands, curious how she had managed that particular mishap.

Rhaim blinked several times as he watched the girl get even further from correct after listening to his advice. If she kept listening to him she was likely to end up hurting herself at this rate. He scoffed inwardly at himself as he considered being the first person to actually make someone hurt themselves while doing handseals. Then again he had managed to strike himself in the face at one point in his handseals training. Fortuneately no one had noticed when he had done it.
Sitting down in front of her Rhaim made the handseal and closed his eyes. He hoped that somehow seeing someone else do it might give her some insight on how it was done.

Watching Rhiam closely Tenma mimicked his movements. Slowly. Carefully. Tenma would watch him than repeat it herself. Checking to make sure her breathing was in order to would constantly check her work and repeat, soon she was practicing the seal with closed eyes. After everytime she made it she would open her eyes to check her hand positioning and that her fingers were properly set. Eventually she placed her hands in her lap and closed her eyes, ready for another try.
She felt her hands come together and they felt different than the other two times she had tried. Hopefully this ment that she had completed the sign correctly, not that she had managed to find another variation. Her right eye peeked open as the left remained shut in order to check her work. Success! That sign took a touch longer than she would have liked, but none-the-less, it was done.

The thought of hanging out in a tree taking a nap, with the wind gently blowing by took over the boys mind and he totally forgot where he was and what he was doing. Outwardly he maintained the handseal and closed eyed concentration, but inwardly he was snoring and smiling happily as he slept through another beautiful day. He barely pulled himself out of his trance in time to see that the girl across from him was extremely close to getting the handseal correct. An idea came to him as he realised that she probably felt alone in her training.
The boy pulled out his scroll and set it on top of his middle finger of his left hand as he held his left middle and indew fingers up in front of him. He closed his eyes slowly as the scroll began to wobble.

First Tenma placed both palms together infront of her than she laced her thumbs, pinkies and ring fingers so the only two still left erect were her index and middle fingers. The two remaining were pressed together so they all came into contact with eachother. She continued to take this seal apart and put it back together, occasionally closing her eyes to see if she had the feel for it as well as the visual referrence.
Soon she felt like she was ready to give the seal a try. She placed her hands in her lap and closed her eyes. As she opened her eyes to look at her work another smile came across her face. The seal resting before her was near picturesque.

The young Nara boy had barely closed his eyes when the scroll fell from his finger and landed on the grass in front of him. When he opened his eyes to retrieve the scroll he noticed that the nameless girl before him had acheived yet another handseal. She must be almost done by now. The boy picked up the scroll, "Don't get too excited now. Remember to focus and think only about the handseal you're trying to learn."
The boy put his fingers back up in front of his face and balanced the scroll on top of the middle one before taking a deep breath. As he closed his eyes he tried not to fall victim to the desire to lose concentration and think about more pleasureable enviroments where he could be lazy. The scroll teetered on his fingertip as he tried to focus on only the scroll.

As Tenma took in the illustration she realized that it was very similar to the tiger seal. It was the same general position, but the left hand was raised and resting ontop of the right hand. Again she went through the ritual of completing the handseal and occasionally closing her eyes to get a feel for the seal.
Finally, as she had done time and time again, Tenma dropped her hands to her lap and closed her eyes in preparation for her attempt. Feeling her left hand resting on her right hand she smiled. Now she knew that she had performed the correct seal before she even opened her eyes. To no surprise she was correct. Her left hand was laying gently on her right to make a perfect seal.

The images of him swaying gently in a tree took over his thoughts almost right away. They were so effective that he would not have noticed that the scroll had fallen if it had not landed on his left knee. The Nara sighed lightly before opening his eyes to find and retrieve the scroll again. Here he was telling this girl that he didn't even know to simply focus on the task before her and he couldn't even focus on a task that he had come up with himself. He shook away his own frustrations without making any change to his facial expressions and began anew with his left hand in front of his face again. With the scroll in place atop the fingers he stared at it for a couple seconds before closing his eyes. This time he actually repeated the word scroll in his mind over and over again to stay focused on it.

The boy focused on the scroll harder than he had thus far, so hard in fact that his finger began to shake and the scroll went tumbling from its position to the ground in front of him. He held his position for a moment, his hand still in front of his face and his eyes closed. Slowly he finally let it all go as he admitted to himself that focusing entirely on the scroll was not the right answer. He would need to focus on both the scroll and his fingertip if he wanted to complete this self imposed task. He reached down to the grass and picked up the scroll. Before putting it into position, the boy decided to hold it steady on his hand to get a better understanding of it's weight. Confident that he stood a better chance at getting it this time, Rhaim closed his eyes and placed the scroll in position.

After practicing the motion and the seal Tenma practiced more with closed eyes. Finally, she let her hands sit in the position before making an attempt. After closing her eyes and letting her hands rest in her lap Tenma brought her hands up into position. However, when Tenma opened her eyes, she realized she had place her right hand over the left hand. Oh well.

The young Nara slowly opened his eyes to find that the scroll was still resting on it's perch on his left middle finger. As soon as he recognized the sight, the boy closed his eyes so as not to break his concentration with some sort of foolish celebration or pat on the back. He was certain that the scroll would be absent from his finger, but it was in fact still there and quite steady. Rhaim began to focus even more on the scroll and his finger, picturing the space in between the scroll and his finger as the connection point and his thoughts as the anchor that held it in place. He went over his body posture and breathing mentally to ensure that they wouldn't interfere with his control on the situation. A small tickle began to inch up the boys nose as he prepared to hold it in place for double the time.
