Lin grinned widely, "I think Roydon, that exploring is something we have in common. I want to go travelling too, and my friend and I are going to go travelling and sailing one day. Though.. I have to grow up first...."
Among other things, there was still a lot to learn.

Roydon beamed at Lin. "Well I have to grow up first, too, and I think I might be just a little bit older than you, so maybe we can go traveling together when we grow up!" he exclaimed brightly. "Wouldn't that be neat? My ada won't mind, because your ada was the one that saved me!"
He paused.
"Well ... him and Celebor," he amended.

"You're probably going to be a lot older than me," Lin murmured, "But I would like to do that. Though... I don't know where by the ocean you live."
Then again she didn't know any of the other places in the Four Lands, it was one of the few things she hadn't asked to death about.

The boy giggled at Lin. "I live in Namunuito," he told her, "it's the only town in the whole Four Lands that's on the ocean. All the other ones are on the river, more inland, where there's water for them."
He was pleased, though, that he might be able to join them.
"Who else are you going with, do you know?" he asked her eagerly. "Because we would need a lot more people than just us to take care of the ship! Ships need a lot of people."

Lin made a note of the town, now she had a place she would want to visit now, which was excellent.
"His name is Earendil," Lin giggled, "I don't know who else though..."
She wondered who else would come along for something like this....

Roydon's eyes grew wide.
"Earendil?" he repeated in disbelief. "Earendil, like the mariner? The real Earendil? The one that's in the stories?"
One could almost swear there were stars in his eyes.
"That's so NEAT!" he squealed, just about jumping for joy. "Earendil ... I'm going to meet Earendil ... he's my hero! I've always wanted to be like him!"

Lin scratched the back of her head, she thought Roydon knew about the part where Earendil disappeared after sailing into the sky.
"Not the mariner, he was just named after Earendil the mariner," she explained.

Roydon wasn't put off in the least.
"Oh, well," he grinned. "I can still pretend, right?"
He giggled again. "This is going to be so much fun!" he exclaimed. "Now I can't wait til we're grown up!"
His sister, who was standing behind him, tugged on his shirt to get his attention, then whispered in his ear, glancing every few seconds towards Lin.

Lin wondered if he would remember by the time they both had grown up. She glanced at his sister, wondering what was wrong, or if she needed something.
"Is.. something wrong?"

Roydon looked back at Lin and grinned.
"No," he replied, "she's just scared of you and thinks that I should be too."
He turned back to his sister and comforted her in elvish. "It's okay, her ada was the one who saved us! She's really nice, you don't have to be scared of her!"

"We should introduce her to Miyu, Miyu is just as shy," Lin replied a bit curious.
She had never met anyone scared of her, since she was always told she was not scary. Cute, but not scary.

Roydon looked intrigued at that comment.
"Miyu?" he asked curiously. "Who is that?"

"Miyu is my niece," Lin explained, "I have a lot of older brothers and sisters but they aren't here at the moment."
She thought that maybe the two girls would get along, and that Miyu was just too shy to be scared off.

"Oh, okay," Roydon smiled. He turned back to his sister and spoke to her again softly, putting one arm around her shoulders and drawing her close for a comforting hug.
Just at that moment, Arwen darted into the room.
"Adonai's coming!" she announced to Lin. "It's been a really really long time since you saw him but now you can see him again!"
She giggled. She knew how reclusive Adonai was. He hadn't been on the ranch since the last time there had been children to take care of.

As if he had been summoned (which technically he had) Adonai appeare in the doorway behind Arwen. He was tall now - very nearly the same height as Aragost, actually - and like the mysterious fighter, he was also dressed all in black - long scholarly robes and a cloak. However, he kept his cowl down, revealing his face and long black hair rather than hiding them.
"Hello, Lin," he nodded politely to the girl. "Long time no see. I trust that you are well."
