"My goodness! You need to be more sure of yourself, my dear." Arthos said, trotting along and a leisurely but swift pace. Long ago in his travels, not from his studies, he had found that people's emotions could be largely found in the energies that surrounded them. When they were angry it expanded, when they were happy it flowed in harmony, and when they were sad it would collapse and try and correct itself. There were some variances, and it did not work on people who masked their energies, but the theory seemed to universally work. Somehow, this woman seemed to go through so many emotions at once! After a short pause, he added. "You will simply make yourself unhappy, if you think that everyone is out to hurt you." Suddenly he seemed to slip, then crash onto the ground. His body was shaking, and he began to wheeze rather heavily. For a moment he looked very, very old, his hair even turned such a light blue that it almost seemed white. Then, once the moment passed, he seemed to regain himself entirely. Hell, he looked better.
Slowly he got back up and stretched a bit, then looked at her apologetically. "It seems you have re-encountered me at a tough time, Dalia. I apologize for this and assure you it will pass soon. Now!" He smiled to her suddenly and began to run again, this time to the nearest tree. "Since we do not know what we are doing, I shall ask for directions!" And, for some reason, he began to talk to the tree.

Just as Dalia was about comment on his words, and on his uncanny ability to sense and understand her emotions, when he fell to the ground. Unsure of what to do, for that moment, Dalia knelt above him. She was afraid to touch him -for reasons she would never understand- so her hands lay an inch or two above him, awkwardly being woven about as though she might do some good. When the fit seemed to end, she jumped to her feet and pretended as though she hadn't fret over him at all. And when she looked at him... He looked better. A smile broke on her lips, but she quickly stashed it away.
Then he ran!
Dalia nearly jumped in surprise, but regained herself and sprinted after him, using her strong legs to push her forward. They stopped at a strong tree, and Arthon began to speak to it! Yet another surprise from the strange, sick man. Not that he was disturbed (though in all honesty he might have been), but he was certainly ill.
Dalia watched him, giving both he and the tree strange looks. She'd never spoken to a tree before, never assumed they could speak back, and never thought to do such a thing. She laughed, "First books, now trees? What else can you talk to?" She paused to think, laughed again, and said, "The dead?"

He looked at her amused for a moment, then smiled widely. "You believe in only what is presented to you. You lived alone with your family and taught you were hated. You left, believing that you would be hated. You were hated, but why?" He put a hand on her shoulder for a moment, an odd sort of look on his face. "Your father killed anyone who came close, so your kind was feared there. They hated you, because to them you were a monster. You never truly tried to disprove them, for that is how you thought they would always look at you." Arthon turned and pointed to the tree. "The world, to you, is the same way. Never did you try to speak to a tree, for you thought it was impossible. You never bothered to listen, so they never bothered to speak. All things have words, Tiefling."
For a moment he turned from her, continuing to talk to the tree, then finally he nodded his head and began to walk, beckoning her to come. After a moment, however, he felt the need to provide an answer for the things he knew. "I heard things about you, found information before you came to the town I met you in. Once you came to me, I took a day to speak to the trees and the wind. You lived in a forest, so they knew much. The people who traveled knew the rest. I gave you free stuff, because I trusted you before I knew you. You were..." The elf smiled to her, perhaps the most sincere he had given yet. "... Interesting."

Even as he moved on she did not. She stood, staring at where he once stood, and began murmuring things very quickly, to nobody in particular. These were more words in the language of secrets, but they were rushed, heated by some sort of calm passion, and scratchy. After that short moment she followed him, reaching his side just as he began his explanation of her... life, perhaps? Herself? It was hard to describe just what he was telling her, but it was, indeed, something she paid great attention to. How was it that he was able to trust her without meeting her? Stories heard from others? Impossible! That was a foolish thing to do, to trust a demon-child based off the musing of others.
...But then, wasn't that what she had done with humans? And other creatures? The stories her parents told her was what fueled her hate and aggression towards them. She went into the world distrusting humans because of stories told to her. And because she went into the world expecting the worst, all she saw was anger and hatred and war. All she knew was the pain, because she was blind to joy. She was blind and deaf to the kindness of Arthon upon their first meeting, because she did not want to see that her parents were mistaken.
"Interesting?" She asked, a hint of humor lay behind the steely tones of her voice. She was trying to fight back her emotions, as she sometimes did. She was not insulted, rather, complimented more than she had been in quite a while. She was unsure of how to react. But no matter how hard she fought, she felt her face grow hot with embarrassment. "You figured me out in less than a week; interesting happens when it takes years to know anything about an individual, Arthon. You are interesting, not me. Every time you open your mouth you're spouting some new mumbo-jumbo or talking to a different object!"

Arthos laughed at what she said and shook his head. "Despite not looking at others in a different way, you still set out to experience things for yourself. In once sense, because you never opened up to others, what your father said affected you. But you did not stay in the shadows, you let yourself be known. You were afraid of how you would be treated, but faced the hardships head on." He nodded his head solemnly, but in a mocking sort of way. The outside world, interacting with people... this was a paradise beyond anything he would have imagined a hundred years ago. It was truly amazing what company could do for ones spirit. "It is impressive. You could have hid in ignorance, but went out to face things. All the knowledge I have obtained does not shed light onto why people would do something. So I find it, and mainly you, interesting." Finally they found a path that lead to the outskirts of the town, with a small sign that indicated the graveyard was down the road. "As for me, I am not so interesting. I am just ill and in search of knowledge. That is all."

It seemed as though they were nearing the graveyard... and with that Dalia would be one more step closer to figuring out what Arthon was all about. What made him tick? What made him happy? What made him do the things he did? Those were his reasons for thinking she, Dalia, were interesting. It was funny how it worked out that way... As for why Dalia did what she did... She would never know, at least not consciously. She loved her parents, but did not want to protect them until their lives came to and end. It was not what she was made to do, it was not her fate. Then again, how could she dictate her own fate? Wasn't that the job of some higher power?
Dalia pushed her hood back and out of her pale face, having forgotten she was even wearing it. After letting her blood red eyes adjust to the new light, she looked over at Arthon once more. He did not have horns on his head, like she did, yet he had his own secrets. So what if his weren't plastered on his head for the world to see? It didn't meant they didn't exist. She had been quite selfish, and perhaps not curious enough, to ask him about himself. He knew too much about her already. So the Tiefling quickly conjured up a question, one she wanted to know the answer to: "Why such a thirst for knowledge?" She asked, "Why not money or power or blood? Knowledge seems so... useless in this world."

Arthon did not answer for some time, choosing to walk in silence. His need for knowledge? Why did he quest for something so intangible? For him... "The hunt for knowledge, the act of finding secrets... is all I know. It is my purpose. It is what I know how to do, and with each bit of knowledge I find I can rest a bit easier. Power and money have both come from my pursuit, so I have been able to live comfortably. it is just... fulfilling." He smiled serenely as he was talking, then nodded his head. "I have been able to help others, been able to see and do wonderful things, met entertaining things." He thought for a moment, his smile fading for a split second before becoming large again. "At least that is what I tell myself. I fear the only part that is true is that the hunt and memorization of knowledge and secrets is all I know. All I have done in my years of living. I am afraid to move on." And again he fell into silence. The graveyard had become fully in view, the smells of damp earth and death pungent in the air. They would be there soon.

The titan slipped out of the bar while Ali, Red and Ash were inside yapping to another. Quietly as his entrance from the shadows he disappeared into the night of the outside looking at the stars. "We wonder how they're doing. Our brothers and sisters. There are only six of us now." Yawgmoth said to no one in particular more so just talking aloud. He reached up with his hand and swirled his fingers moving his hand in a conductor like motion. The night scene began to rearrange itself according to how he bent the darkness of the sky forming patterns with the stars. He wasn't actually moving entire stars and system from so far away obviously. A feat impossible to anything but gods, but rather he was manipulating the darkness to give the illusions that the entire sky had been changed.

* A couple, children, began to make their way towards Yawg, Twins with pale skin and white hair yet light puple eyes, one male and one female. Both wore the same dark charcoal color, the boy wearing shorts that reached to his thighs, white ruffled shirt with black bowtie and a coat to match the shorts. The girl on the other hand wore a dress, rather posh gothic inspired and a black bowtie in her hear. She also carried something long with a blanket wrapped around and a small stuffed animal attached at the very top to a string. Both giggled a little as they stopped behind Yawg, a couple of feet away.* Excuse me sir but we are looking for a person we're supposed to meet, a Mr. Keth. May we be so bold as to ask if you know where he might be and if you could point us in the right direction?

Ash quietly walked out of the bar. Once in the fresh air she felt less tense. She sighed. After walking around for a bit she came to an unpopulated area. "This is a good place" She said to herself. She closed her eyes and began to change. She went to her cat form. She was a gray-ish color and had a little red scarf around her neck. And a bow around her her four tails. Her eyes like golden jewels. Finally able to be free she walked around. With no one around to bother her she was able to get around freely. It was nice.

Yawgmoth, like Aliator, was usually kind to children. His indifference tonight however was such that he didn't feel like entertaining kids. He made a motion towards the sky he was playing with and twisting his fingers made the stars form an arrow which pointed to the bar. That was the last place he saw Aliator. He would let them know at least. "When we left, he was there. Check there first. If he isn't there we don't know where he's gotten away to. Sorry." he said flatly to the children. His nightfall sensed another presence among the darkness. Closing his eyes he saw through the night's cover. Ahh the girl from before. His crimson eyes opened severing his eye's link with the shadows of night.

Ash was happy. She felt her tails going wild. She smiled her cat smile. Not to mention it was nice out and there was nothing to ruin it. She continued to wander around. Eventually ending up near a few people. But she didn't care. Nothing could ruin her mood.

*The child couple giggled a little more as they looked over at the bar, bowing politely to Yawg afterwards. Just as they were about to leave, Ali walked out from the bar after a much needed detour to the bathroom. Heading their way and stopping as the little boy walked up infront of him, giggeling just like his sister who remained in the back.* Sir, will you tie my shoe. I'm afraid it's gone undone and I haven't learned quite yet how to tie it. * Ali arched a brow and simply shrugged his shoulders, He wasn't one to be mean to children, far from it. He loved children and would go to any lenghts just to save one he didn't even know. Slowly Ali kneeled down and started to tie the boy's shoe, registring a sudden movement just as he pulled the laces, his instincts kicked in as he moved his head to the side and felt something cleave down into his left shoulder. Jerking back and rolling away in slight disbelief. The darn kid had tried to cleave his head with a damn axe! The shock of it all causing him to just sit there on one knee and just watch the twins.

He's as quick as they said Sister Dear.* The boy smileda little as he trailed a finger along the axe blade, gasping and moaning a little afterwards as he trailed more fingers along the blade.*Indeed he is Brother Dear, Let us call down the angels upon him. * Ali's eyes grew wide as the girl pulled away the blanket from the long thing she carried, revealing a god damn BAR automatic rifle that was nearly twice her size. Now Ali started to move as he headed for the nearest tree, of all the days he had gone around armed, today happened to be the one where he just couldn't use it. Harming children was against his own personal codex. He reached the tree just as the girl started to open fire, tearing the tree and ground up in a hail of lead bullets. Ali did his best to make himself fit behind the tree, waiting for her to reload. Though when he heard her exclaim that he had apparantly dropped the other ammo clips, Ali couldn't help to let out a sigh of relief. Ducking out from the tree just in time to feel the axe blade slash his left eye and part of the eyesocket in half on it's way past him. Both kids having apparantly taken off running. Only creepy part of it was that he could hear them giggeling as they ran until it faded into silence.

Ali held his right hand over the left side of his face to try to prevent the blood from spraying out from his eyesocket like water from a garden hose.
They were good for amatuers, if you considered their young age into that then they were proffesional contract killers. This had to be a hit, Ali could feel it in his guts. Question was, who were "They" and when would those kids strike next. In an hour, a day, week? In anycase, first Ali had to be patched up, identify the kids and then figure out their employers.* Children as contract killers...what the ******** is the world coming too?...
PostPosted: Sat Nov 14, 2009 3:35 am

The loud blasts of the gun alerted Yawgmoth to what was going on. Closing his eyes again his vision linked with the nightfall and watched the kids try to murder Ali and Ali as predicted not openly retaliate despite the fact that he could crush the kids with a single breath if he wanted. It would take something drastic for the titan to raise a hand to a child, he was sure his tolerance was much lower than Ali's. So to his former friend and rival this was probably nothing. Smirking as he heard Ali grump about the children being contract killers he stepped forward and seemingly fell into the ground only to pop out of the ground a few feet away from Ali. Shadowstep it was called.

"This pathetic little mudball has been long over due for a good purging. Or perhaps it needs someone like you to grip it in an iron fist and wring out the slime." Yawgmoth proclaimed with a shrug. "We have learned in our absence the role of our kind in the universe. We don't plan on interfering in the lives of mortal creatures as far as this planet's development. It would be against our nature. Admittedly, a nature we didn't know we had until a few years ago." he said speaking of finding out he was a titan. "But that's where you come in old friend. You were born here, you are a native of this little mudball. You can and should interfere. We give out compliments at most once or twice a year so take this how you will. But if we can't lead this place in the direction its supposed to go. There isn't anyone else who can, except you."

Even the mightiest empires has shadows where schemes are made.* Ali narrowed his eye at Yawg, gritting his teeth as he used very very basic magic to make a small fireball burn his eyesocket wound closed to the point where the bleeding would halt. Once that was done he began to tear apart the jacket he had wore when he arrived at the bar but hung on the wall into bandages for his left shoulder.* That said I'm not one that lets stuff like this be, children aren't born like that. They are shaped like a lump of clay. I'm thinking they used to be in the hands of a network filled with sadistic *****. If so then there are bound to be pictures or videos with them in and if I can find them then I can interogate whoever had those.
