Sneaking another smile at Nato, Amira turned to follow Anjafey. She assumed that the other female was leading them near to the clearing where they had last seen the others gathered. Amira hoped that most of them had not wandered off. She didn't know how long she and Nato would be able to keep their secret. Padding silently and quickly through the forest behind Anjafey, Amira smiled up at the moon glowing in the sky above her. It illuminated the path with silvery radiance as the female fox quickened her pace to follow her friend.

Anjafey grinned to herself as the pair followed behind her, being careful to make sure they were headed in the right direction. Darting through the trees, she admired how the moon shone in the empty spaces in the leaves; tonight was indeed a good night to annouce...well, whatever it was they were annoucning. She couldn't assume it was..that. Sighing, she looked back at her two friends with a small smile;sometimes she wished she had that. It'd be nice to go without being insulted constantly by her mate.
Shaking off the thoughts, confused as to their origin, Anjafey continued to lead them, eventually emerging into the clearing. "We're here," she said softly.

((If you mean the reason why Ari is being emo, it's because his daughter, Sigal, left. Considering how she never really fit in the tribe, it was kind of expected, but he's still taking it hard, because...Well, he's Ari.))
The thought of Sigal visiting cheered Ari up a little. But then Yudoku asked where Kazuki was.
"He left," Ari said flatly. I suppose it's too much to expect support from my mate, Ari thought cynically. It's not as if mates are there to help each other get through bad times or anything. Oh, no, it's not like that at all. Damnit, Kazuki, what's gotten into you?
Ari stared at the ground, and half growled, half sighed.
((I'm not quite sure how to get what happened in the thread in here, so...Kazuki gets to tell Ari this time! :p *shot* ))

Amira followed Anjafey as she stepped from the cool cover of the forest into the moonlit clearing. She glanced around the area, searching for any sign of foxes nearby. Scanning the area, she strained her eyes for any hint of color and her ears for any little sound. "Do you see anyone?" she asked, directing the question at Anjafey and Nato.

Both kits nearly fell over in surprise by the partial growl Ari let out. "Well, perhaps he was just hungry," Kin'iro suggested, composing herself again.
"Yeah!" Yudoku said in agreement, bouncing up. "You must be hungry too. Want me to catch some lizards for you? I could probably even take on a mouse if I find any," she said cheerfully.
Kin'iro's mouth formed into an 'o' at the thought. "Yeah, I guess we are big enough now to hunt mice, aren't we..." she replied thoughtfully. "We gotta try that sometime!"
"As if you could catch one," Yudoku said teasingly to her sister. As her sister huffed in offense, Yudoku turned back to Ari. "So, want anything?"

"Maybe," Ari muttered in a flat, lifeless tone. He obviously didn't believe it. He couldn't, after what Kazuki had said...
His lips twitched slightly, watching the sisters.
"Go ahead and try to catch some mice, then." They would have a lot more fun doing that than staying around him, anyway. His dark mood would probably just make them depressed, too.

"Ok!" Yudoku said with a smile, running off to go find a mouse for Ari.
Kin'iro decided to stay behind with Ari, not yet convinced that he was doing any better. The two sat there silently for a few minutes while a pleasant breeze blew by. Finally, Kin'iro turn back to the elder and said, "Things will get better. We just have to wait a bit." She avoided looking him dead in the eyes, but she still felt a lot of compassion for what he must be going through.

In another place, and another time, Ari might find it funny that a kit was giving him, an elder, advice.
Right now, though, he was just going to desperately cling to the hope that she was giving him.
"You really think so?" His daughter was gone, and now his mate...It was nice to see he still had the support of his tribe, though. Or some of it, at least.

(lol, yeah, I thought that was kinda funny too when I wrote it. xd ; )
"Of course," she replied with a slight smile glancing ever so briefly at his eyes. "Imagine if pain never went away. Then everyone would be in a state depression." For such a young kit, she seemed inaptly wise. Perhaps it was her inherent insight into what others felt that resulted in this.

"What if Sigal or Kazuki never come back?" Ari challenged. He knew he shouldn't be burdening the poor kit with his problems, but...the look on Kazuki's face when he left! Ari doubted Kazuki would ever be coming back to him, after that.
Moon Fox, he had messed up so bad, and he didn't even know what he had done wrong! One minute there Kazuki was, comforting and caring for him, and the next--Kazuki did a complete turn around, had seemed to get fed up, and just left!
What had happened while he was sleeping? Ari wondered, but he figured Kazuki would just snap at him if he tried to find the other elder and ask him.

"What reason would they have not to?" was her reply. "I've only been here a day and I already love it." Kin'iro couldn't really understand why the elder was being so pessimistic. She probably could if she tried, but she didn't want to know all that badly. Trying to cheer him up without completely knowing was hard enough as it was.

"I don't know. What reason did Kazuki have to leave in the first place?"
Ari got why Sigal left. She didn't fit in with the others, and she was never awake when anyone else was. So she felt lonely, even surrounded by others. And she was bored, too, not having anyone to play with.
But Kazuki...First he had been comforting Ari, and then he suddenly seemed to change his mind, and had just run off. It was that change that confused Ari most of all.

And I'm supposed to know that how...? Kin'iro thought to herself, almost exasperatedat the elder. She was about to respond when her sister came back, dragging a large dead mouse that was almost the size that she was.
"Caught one!" she said, her words muffled by the fact that she was still clasping it in her teeth. She dragged it over to in front of Ari and let go, beaming up at him proudly. "Found you a mouse!" she replied, sitting down. "Man, those things sure are fast..."
"Wow, that's a pretty big one too," Kin'iro said, her eyes wide as she looked it over. Size relativity could be quite amusing sometimes.
