Flying in like a super-sonic bat out of hell, Dash made his entrance, albeit an ungraceful one.

"Why?"

Dash's body may have been breaking through the sound barrier, but his mind was locked in stasis. The greatest wound Reiko's attacks had inflicted was to his pride. Dash had trained tirelessly for nearly a year after the first Heaven or Hell tournament in hopes of facing his good friend and rival, Silver Alexander. He felt guilty for denying himself, and his fans the opportunity to witness such an epic showdown. So, he resolved to more than make up for it. Needless to say, Dash had become stronger... much stronger.

He could recall the night he stood atop a rather tall cliff overlooking the ocean. It was the classic, yet stereotypical scene for a "great awakening". He had progressed further than even he could have anticipated. All the man's life, he had been plagued with the petty limits imposed upon him by his body. He never gave much thought about it, he had always assumed training could take you so far until you reached a plateau. Dash, being the arrogant SOB he was, thought he had finally reached it prior to heading into HoH. He thought no one could exceed him, no one could touch him. He soon discovered just how wrong he was. The caliber of fighters there astonished him. Although he didn't want to admit it outwardly, he was actually worried. How could this simple man hope to compete with beings that could control minds with spit and cause planes to fall from the sky with a wiggle of their big toe!? Dash now had a new goal, he had to exceed what was thought possible, become greater than what he was, greater than what anyone expected he could be.

Greater...

Than...

EVERYONE!

That night, on the beach, he had achieved it. The simple barrier which had always limited his ki to sane levels had been broken. Dash could recall collapsing to the ground as his body was wrecked with pain. If he couldn't muster the will to control his new power, his body would have surely been destroyed. Alas, Dash's willpower has always been one of his strengths. The man not only managed to control this newfound energy, but master it.

Emerging from the crater that was once his training/meditation grounds, Dash looked out on a whole new world of possibilities. He could actually compete with the demigods, meta humans, and psycho vampires of the world on THEIR grounds. Now, all that was left for Dash to do, was test this power. He felt that he was far too strong to bother with Silver at the moment, so he went after the next logical choice.

Which brings us back to now.

"Why am I losing!?"

Dash's body slammed into the ground with a force equal to an inbound spacestation. The only thing keeping Dash from melting due to the obscene amounts of friction being generated was his aura. Emerald colored flames generated a thin barrier between himself and the ground. Not to say it wouldn't leave a mark. The right side of Dash's body stung like hell! However, Dash's mind was too preoccupied with is own shortcomings to be bothered with a severe carpet burn.

"Why can't I beat him?"

Dash came to a halt.

A caravan of traders happened to stumble across the scene.

"Darius, my brother! Did you see that?"

The lead man, a dark skinned individual dressed in typical desert garments complete with turban, called out. The caravan nearly ran over itself as all members simultaneously looked. A wave of silence swept over them. Each man mentaly sifted through their vocabulary in attempt to locate the words to best describe what they were seeing.

Darius would be the first.

"HOLY s**t!"

If Moses had instead decided to part the Sahara, this is what it would have looked like. The enormous heat given off by Dash's deceleration in the sand was enough to convert it into glass!

Dash, however, remained on the ground. He continued to stare up at the sky and wonder what he was doing there.

"What am I doing wrong?"

Each breath burned. His shirt was nonexistance, revealing a myriad of cuts, burns, and bruises across his body. Fortunately his pants were still in good shape, except for some tears and dirt.

"Am I... too weak?"

At that moment, a single dove flew over head.

Look, don't worry about WTF a dove is doing in the desert. Anyhow, at that exact moment a grain of sand blew up Dash's nose, causing him to sneeze. Which in turn, exploded the dove, reducing it to a cloud of giblets and feathers.

And with that, the flame of Dash's soul was rekindled.

Cue music (What I had in mind was that song from DBZ "Gohan fights Frieza" or something...)

"NO!"

Dash clenched his right fist as vitality came flooding back to his body.

"I won't..."

He slowly stood to his feet.

"LOSE!"

Cue closeup on his right eye the moment it widens. All hell then proceeds to break lose. The time for the 15 episode power up sequence had come.

"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!"

Dash's aura exploded in every which direction, consuming the desert in a green inferno. Everything within a 200 foot radius was engulfed in Dash's energy. The ground cracked and split, great sand storms started to form, and the glass sculpture Dash had created upon reentry shattered to peices.

All this, and Dash hadn't really let go.

"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Cue numerous cuts of Dash's body. He wasn't really "pumping up" as would be expected in this case. Though he did sport some bulging vains. Hell, there was even a random shot of his crotch that revealed the massive hard-on he was getting. Yeah, Dash enjoyed fighting that much.

His aura shifted from its green hue to deep red. The second this happened it wasted no time grabbing up additional real estate.

Darius and his caravan WOULD NOT SURVIVE!

When the screaming ended some 30 minutes later, Dash would be seen standing in the center of a rediculously large crater, I mean, it looked like he just taken out the dinosaurs with this thing.

A very strong, and very pissed Dash stood with his arms folded. Red bolts of ki cackled and flashed about his body.

He waited for his opponent to arrive.

This is our story.

Babel.* In this place, a man could reach the heavens and defy the very gods themselves. In this place, the sky was pierced and opened before all those who bothered to look.

And it was in this place that several men were rushing through.

How long--- how long has it been since I last set foot here?! Yellowed eyes narrowed, even as he continued pushing his body up the series of stairs, the Fang held out and tot he side of his body, dragging along the ground to create a series of sparks.

To be back in this...place...

* Some major time warpage here, just wrapping up something that should have been finished. This takes place in the PAST.

The siren had sung her song, and the locks had been removed, as the guardians were finally allowed to pass on to the afterlife, leaving nothing standing in his way...

Nothing...

Victor stared forward into the darkness of that room, lowering his head as he mused briefly on the state of things.

How had it unravelled to this point? Gotten this badly... that everything was changed... to make room... no-- to please them all.

Is it any different how things are compared to back then... when we lost ourselves in innocence.

Or ignorance.

It was nothing but the two of us... always the two of us, but even that was just a dream right? Just a pitiful attempt at something real...

But I WAS real to you, wasn't I? I did make you happy, right? We WERE happy.. I wasn't dreaming, was I.

Yellowed eyes stared forward, before he turned his head to the side slightly and began making his way forward.

You were my sun; my precious light. You still are, even if you hate me.

Saiya trudged across the desert.
It was around midday. Usual stereotypical desert afternoon.
Blazing sun. Endless stretch of sand. Not a drop of water in sight, except for that which was strapped around Saiya's waist in a couple of tin canteens.
Periodically, the skinny girl would stop, pull out a compass, and check to make sure she was still heading in the right direction.
Yup.
She walked on.
The only thing that differentiated this petite brown native of Strata from any other wanderer was the fact that she didn't stop walking.
When she stumbled, when her eyes closed, when she gave in to the exhaustion that had crippled so many other desert journeys, the spirits took over.
And while she slept, her body kept moving forward.
They didn't need a compass, either.

The wind was dead when the demon reached a far enough point of the desert, Lazenca behind him. The day had passed its hottest, with the twilight of dusk only minutes away from settling into the sky, yet the lingering blaze from noon still held strong. Most men would be a little beyond bothered by it, but they weren't most men, which is also the reason they were out there.

The demon's left foot slid back into the sand. While his left hand stayed into his pants' pocket to hold his jacket, the other raised to his side softly.

"So, how much do you even remember?"
PostPosted: Sat Mar 03, 2007 9:05 am

Unsane paused and settled into his place, which made Lazenca mentally frown. Did he really plan to fight? Mixed feelings... Lazenca knew he wasn't really... you know, sane right now. Would it even be safe to fight people right now? Fighting someone because he was offended and making them apologize... and accepting someone's wish for a sparring match were two different things, and carried different implications and unspoken rules. For as much as he could remember and put together, he didn't want Unsane dead.

"My name... that's about it, about me. A... vampire, a demon, a wolf, all female. I just remembered you, but not why I know you. And I remember how to fight, so don't think you can bum-rush me or whatever you're planning."

"I'll do whatever I damn well want to, thank you."

Unsane rushed indeed. The demon had made sure to choose an area of the desert that was dried soil and not dunes of sand, which enabled him to ran normally without any pain. Dust raised in his trail, and his right hand opened half-way at his side, as if readying to bare out claws. Once a mere five feet away from Lazenca, he pinned his right foot down to stop abruptly and threw his hand upward. From it shot out a handful of snow, barely enough to make half a snowball, going for Lazenca's eyes.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 03, 2007 1:02 pm

"...?!"

Lazenca's reaction to it was simple... a half step back and bracing against the ground, with the right arm lifted diagonally... the meat of his palm was level with his brow. He did expect some kind of punch, so imagine his suprise when his arm intercepted a snowball. His left hand was taken out of the pocket, only to have the thumb hook into that pocket. The whole arm was bandaged, so most the tattoo was hidden... the lines at the finger's webbing would be all that could be seen of it.

"Stop being annoying!"

"How about you try and stop me?"

Unsane was playing with fire, but he needed to know how much of Lazenca was still in Lazenca, and using diplomacy to go there would be useless. The demon knew that the easiest way to bring out the Oblivion spell wasn't to tap into it yourself, that needed practice. Unsane would push Lazenca against the wall until the spell itself would offer two choices to the wolf man: live with us or die alone.

Just like acquiring it, everything about that cursed magic seemed to be a gamble.

The snow collided with Lazenca's arm, specks of sparkling flakes floating in all directions from the weak impact. While that arm protected his eyes, it also had the downside of shielding them slightly. Unsane was only hoping that Lazenca wouldn't see as his left hand shot out, whipping the black jacket it was holding at Laz' head to cover it and efficiently blind him, even if just for a moment.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 03, 2007 5:23 pm

No dice. It was true that his hand was up and there was some shielding going on, but it's not like the hand and arm as up right in front of his face. That whole "seeing a transparent arm" thing was going on and while he didn't know exactly what was going on with Poppy's next movement, the result of it was in full view. The arm stayed up just long enough to kinda swing out, catching the jacket enough to not have it cover his upper body and blind him.

"..."

It was a split decision... Unsane wanted him to fight, and it didn't seem like walking away was going to do anything to deter him. It's like if someone kept spraying you in the face with a spray bottle, that's what Unsane was doing. Seemingly harmless things that had the purpose of simply getting one's attention and annoying them. So rather than try to walk away and keep getting sprayed in the face/taking a snowball to the back of the head or something, Lazenca quickly turned his palm outward. What had become a block of the coat, became a grab. Lazenca yanked it to himself, and the plan was to drag Unsane close enough for an already-rising right knee to connect.

The demon stumbled forward, pulled by his own jacket. Clumsily, he raised his own knee and winced as he caught Lazenca's with his thigh. Both hands went back to his chest as his foot retracted to the ground. "Good boy." Said Unsane, smirking, "Probably wouldn't work without you fighting back anyway."

Both of them were still pretty close. Unsane swivelled to his right, so to put more strength into his left fist as he aimed toward Lazenca's neck. Within his fist, the demon had gathered his magic to explode upon contact, wether it hit the neck or was blocked some other way, sending bone-numbing cold within whatever it hit. The effect would last only a few second, but after a few of these, one's body temperature would have a rough time staying stable.

Nuuuu. Don't talk when fighting Lazenca, because he loves taking advantage of openings. He was taught to be relentless in attacks until there was some kin of clear opening, like both of them being apart from each other. But they were close, and neither were too hurt to stop, with only one blow delivered.

Unsane wouldn't get past the word "boy" before Lazenca put his hand on Unsane's throat and pushed, hard. It was the type of open-palm hit/grab that could make a person cough, but it wasn't the primary reason for the attack. His leg had planted immediately after planting, base just wide enough to have the leg planted behind one of Unsane's leg. His throat jab/push would happen simultaneous with the foot planting and if all was right, Unsane was going to find his body kicking up sand as he tripped over Laz's leg and fell onto his back.

To think that Unsane would stop paying attention while he was talking was underestimating the elemental, though. After all, he was the freakin' Overlord of his empire, and was just as stereotypical as any others. He was used to babbling while throwing punches.

Both his arms shot up and caught Lazenca by the forearm. The softened blow to the throat still made him cough, but instead of falling over, he only stepped back beside Lazenca's leg. The little spell he had prepared for the punch was poured into the wolf man's wrist, and since he had a sure hold, Unsane figured he might as well be generous.

With the sound of a knife scratching glass, Lazenca's forearms and Unsane's hands would be encased in a chunk of ice the size of a small watermelon.

Poppy cupcakes!

The way Unsane usually carried himself and acted, Lazenca would have pinned him for a Mid-Boss.

With Unsane catching the arm, he began to turn clockwise, hoping to turn around and get an inch of space between them. No go, because his arm was then covered with a nice chunk of ice. So then Laz would yank his arm to himself with a little shake to try and detatch Unsane. Wether it was succesful or not, he whipped the arm out in some kind of backfist. It'd hurt quite a bit if it connected, what with the "watermelon" in his hand, which would begin to disappear due to Laz's absorbtion.

<3 ******** yes.

Unsane's hands slid out of the ice as if it was made of jello as soon as Laz moved. His fists balled back up, and already he was gathering his strength in both of them, ready to release cold or ice for the next impact.

The demon dodged under Lazenca's frozen hand, bending his knees halfway. On the way down, Unsane raised both his hands slightly in front of his chest, and once he was ducking completely, he threw them out in a stabbing motion to the front of both Lazenca's legs. Again, upon impact, ice would erupt. This time though, it would be in the form of a spike, and it would spear right into Laz' flesh.
