RCinderGirl1 AkatsukiAssassin RaeCG AkatsukiAssassin I play flute! I have a Germeinhardt [sp?] flute, thats open hole...and supposidly its made out of silver. When I used to be in band I was usually first, or second chair. But the thing is...I hate playing. biggrin
gonk Yeah, my flutes pretty new...and I didn't even take out those plastic things stuck in the holes yet...so technically its not open hole. I feel lazy to just take them out. *sweatdrop* And I've been playing for umm... around 5 years. :3 awesome! my flute should be here by the end of the week, monday the latest... im so excited... u sead uv been playing 5 years? what grade r u in and how old r u? ive only been playing for 71/2... i started lessons last year, but when we moved i had to find someone else... my teacher's really great and plays wonderfully, but i can't produce some of the sounds she can and some notes(like E flat and E and some high notes) i can't make in tune, so she doesn't teach as well as my other teacher... How long have u been taking lessons? U sound like ur pretty awesome. I was in first chair at my old school, but since i came late to my new school, i got bumped to third and the teacher didn't even give me a test!! I really should be second, but next year, I'll be first!! (seniors all the way!!) I also hope to join the Louisiana Youth Symphony Orchestra (but I don't care what chair)... I was also wondering if uv done anything like this... or if anyone has for the matter. I want to know what its like to be in this kind of thing. (Ive been to some honor bands before, but not orchestra) o, I'm in 8th grade and I'm 13. 3nodding Meh...I'm actually not that good. I can't really get the notes higher than the highest A. ((maybe becuase I don't practice or I just can't do it. -.- wink ) Yeah. I want to be in a orchestra but I have to join marching band so I can get some pe credit. gonk just keep practicing and ull get it... to all flutes and other instruments i recommend flute lessons by a prfessional flautist!!!! maching band eek ooo... we're required to do that here... meh... i don't like it much, but when im squad leader next year... its going to be good... i could have joined falg line, but the people in it are not so good... xp when i moved, there was no orchestra in the school and i was a bit furious Geh..I already receive lessons from a professional person.>.< Yeah. blaugh

I almost died because I haven't had a flute lesson in like 3 weeks! Also, I'll take the flute if you don't want it..XD @Rinoa: I've never actually wanted to play flute. I only play becuase I wanted to get out of class, and the only way is to join band. -.-;; so I did. And ever since I was a little I've ALways wanted to play cello, but it never happened. @crucify_myself: I would give you my flute, but if I did don't be suprised to find me dead the next day. xD mine comes tomorrow in the mail *jumps up and down excitedly* ^_^ its not a limited edition, but it sure is sweet!! ^_^ @Tara:Yeah...so true. But I can't help it. I just only like it, I've always dis-liked woodwinds, and loved strings. oO.But I already signed up for marching band so I guess I have no choice but to get used to it. And to top it off, Marching band is 7th period..Yeah... gonk and on mondays I'll have night rehersals from 6pm~9pm. geh...I've never practiced that much in my whole entire life! The longest I ever played was about a hour max. *sweatdrop* Fwah. First chair eh?! Thats awsome! ^^ @RaeCG:Haha!xD Nice. Have fun playing it. *nods* I hope your flute doesn't break down like my old one did. :3 surprised

If so, whats it like? oooo... i love the contrabass... never played it but i want to... ive seen pics of it.. on of em is with a triangular head and the other is with the curved head... like it just loops back... i wish i could play it, but it seems so rare to play i in band or somethin...

Yeah, I've never played a contrabass flute or a bass flute. I'm going to get a bass flute one day though. Mark my words, ONE DAY! >.<

RCinderGirl1 sorry bout that... i have a tendency to automatically put something down without realizing what it is... xd yeah.. okay..its good that she's in tune. i was listening to my band director yesterday and he said that reeds are also very important. They have to not be bent in any way and must be taken extrememly well care of... and they are made of bamboo... i didn't know that... ^_^ sorry for my rambling.. haha, I do that sometimes too xD Yes, I would imagine that reeds are very important. I wouldn't know though since I don't play a reed instrument. I wanna learn clarinet over the summer though ^_^ Hoffman (meh BD) was talking to the Tenor saying how his tone sounded different than it usually did and then asked what kind of reed his was using, and he responded with '2'. BD went on to say that that's the reed they make the new students use for like, the first 2 weeks of playing, then they bump it up to 2 1/2, then she asked him if he had a 3. I have no idea what they were talking about. How hard the reeds are or something I'd guess xDD

Funny-bunny13 This little 6th grader,playing the flute for only 2 years now,can join marching band this year! whee that's... young, to say the least. here Marching Band is only for High School kids.
