Okay, this is gonna go off topic from the Fright Week talk...
I've been looking over the Discussion forum, and if you look at the second page of threads there's a whole lot of now outdated stuff since the 7th book has come out, and I'm debating whether they should be deleted or not.
On the one hand... its interesting to be able to read the past stuff and see how it was before the new book came out, on the other hand... its old news. So here's what I'm wondering...
Should they be deleted? Or should they stay for posterity's sake?

Very very little from the discussion should ever be deleted. The real question is whether or not to lock it. I think we should put somewhere in the main discussion sticky, a list of all the locked discussions, that way if someone wants to resurrect a topic they ccan instead of making a new one.

I agree with Angil I prefer locking them. They shouldn't be deleted.
If a topic is months outdated (in some cases years) I don't think they should be revived, just remade, especially if the topic they want to revive has been dead for months
So any ideas for the threads?
I'll do Trick and Treating (still thinking on it)

My idea for Trick or Treating (a thread that doesn't have to be kept, but it can be listed as part of the event in the Event Info thread or if the otehr threads will be contests/lottos this one can be kept. It doesn't really matter it's all a memory and that's what the tomb is for)
Well first off since house-elves are general I thought that the house-elf thread should be general too.
To make it short I want the thread to be the Discussion thread inside of our Fright Week celebration, wheere people can talk to each other. The trick or treat part would come in where the people posts. For instance on the first page in some haunting way I'll mention 10 places where whoever posts on that specific post will get a prize. However only 5 prizes will actually be given out (250g maybe? starting small here).The otehr five will be the 'tricks' so who ever posts on it will get blasted with a nice post that says you've been tricked haha ha. I just brainstormed this and I lvoe the idea. It's something like a random prize giver. I want the guild to be intercommunicating through events so that's what I want the discussion thread.
Can we call it the haunted house? still storming love suggestions icee

*cough* Actually... there's a list there already, I just haven't completed it yet since I'm still trying to figure out whether some threads are delete-worthy. But if you guys are okay with the locked threads hanging around I'll complete that list pronto.

And Icee, I love your idea.
Also, a student of mine suggested that we do a roleplay thread like visiting the shrieking shak or soemthing and give a prize fro roleplay participation and I like that idea.

I like that also, one of the Houses can support that as their thread.
The Lotto wouldn't count as Slytherin's part of the event so you guys could do that

Why don't we just lock them, keep them in the subforum, and if anyone gets bored they'd go and read through our older threads. That's just an idea, and since Juni handles that forum anyway and would probably do the work it's your choice.
