Mathias liked William's idea, and followed suit, hacking and slashing at any tentacles that reached for him. He raised his shield to ward off a barbed tentacle, but instead of glancing away, it caught the edge and ripped his shield off his arm. Mathias gritted his teeth and held his sword in both hands, severing another tentacle when a bright light flashed behind him and he heard William cry out.
Mathias stumbled when another barbed tentacle clanged into his back, rebounding off the metal plate, but making him lose balance. He looked up as he caught himself and saw William with his arm across his eyes and swinging his blade wildly. Oh crap oh crap oh crap!!

"Watch out for the ones that look like eyes!" Will said. "They can flash light at you! Guah, I can't see a damn thing."
William kept his sword up and began slowly backing towards where he thought the wall was. He could at least restrict how many directions the thing could send tentacles at him from while he couldn't see.
Suddenly William felt a tentacle wrap around his leg.
"s**t!" Will exclaimed as he swung his blade down next to his leg.
He felt his blade hit something soft but he could tell by the lack of resistance that he must have struck it a glancing blow. The tentacle jerked at him, pulling him off of his feet. Will again swung his sword blindly, and not hitting anything this time. He felt a second tentacle wrap around his sword arm.
"Oh, hell. Guys! A little help before this thing eats me!" Will yelled out as the fiend lifted him from the ground.

Kiro was quickly under attack once he rolled away. There didn't seem to be any safe place to stand to defend themselves. Using both katanas, Kiro followed his partners' suit and slashed at anything that came near him. Everyone seemed to be losing ground quickly though, they had to come up with something soon.
Seeing William begin to get lifted from solid ground while partially blinded, Kiro made a break to aid him. Kiro reached William's location and made a high jump up to cut the tentacle which was holding William's weapon arm and then on the way down he sliced the remaining tentacled restraining him with his other katana.
As soon as Kiro landed, he was again under assault by more enemy appendages. It was multiple tentacles at once and they all came from behind him, lifting him from his feet and pushed him across the room and slamming into the stone wall. The moment of impact was absorbed though as Kiro brought his legs out in front of him and had curled them up against the wall the moment he hit, looking as if he were squatting up against the wall. He then pushed up against the wall and slashed in a spinning motion to counter attack the tentacles which held him against the wall and cutting them to ribbons.

Mathias hadn't quite recovered from the fast paced fight with the statue fiend and was quickly breathing heavily as he swung his sword left and right to ward off the blob fiend's grasping appendages. He stabbed, spun, slashed and parreid, but nothing he was doing seemed to really matter as the creature always seemed to have more tentacles reaching in. He slashed again, but over extended, and quick as thought, one tentacle wrapped around his arm, while another snagged his ankle and pulled in opposite directions. Mathias yelled out in pain as the fiend began pulling him apart, but only until he managed to reach his belt with his free hand and draw his dagger, reaching up to cut the tentacle off his sword arm. The pressure ceased, but now he was hanging upside down, and was being drawn up towards the fiend's toothy maw," OH CRAP OH CRAP OH CRAP!!!"

With the tentacles severed William fell to the the ground. He might not be able to see, but he still could tell which way gravity was pulling and managed to twist in midair and land in a crouch. He sheathed his sword and reached into his jacket. Leaning back he flung his arms out, hurling the six daggers he had grasped into the air and at the fiends which clung to the roof of the cave. The daggers were well balanced and even without being able to see they all struck home, some better than others.
The fiend screeched out in pain again and Will knew a new onslaught of incoming tentacles was imminent. He reached into the top of his boots and pulled a dagger out from each. As the first tentacle wrapped about his arm he struck out with a dagger, slicing deeply into it. Not enough to sever it, but enough to make it release its hold and back off. Will continued this process for several tentacle attacks. He figured as long as it didn't grab both of his weapon arms at the same time he should be fine.
Then he heard Mathias cry out.
"Kiro! I still can't see, save Mathias!"

Kiro was now feeling the blood lust inside him begin to build as the battle went on. Each tentacle which darted in his direction was slashed almost instantly by Kiro's fierce swordsmanship using both of his katana. Kiro's natural instincts were beginning to take hold of him, thanks to the earliest encounter with assassins from Axis.
After slicing William free, Kiro saw that Mathias was now becoming entwined in the fiend's tentacles. Kiro whipped one of his katana across chaos towards Mathias. The blade sliced through both tentacles which were restraining Mathias and then still continued onward and cut into the rock wall halfway up to the ceiling.
Kiro now sprinted forward towards his weapon he had struck into the rock wall, kicking his legs hard and climbing up the wall high enough by running to reach his sword and then use it to kick off from up towards the beast attached to the ceiling.

Mathias continued to yell as he fell towards the floor, and cut off when he unceremoniously landed on his head. He pushed himself into a sitting position and groggily warded away another grasping tentacle with his dagger. His limbs felt like jelly after knocking his head on the floor, and his sword felt too heavy to lift. He slashed at another tentacle, then pinned one of the eye stalks to the floor before it could blind him, and stepped on it, grinding his heel until the eyeball popped and squished.
"William...are you sure we shouldn't run?"

Williams vision was slowly coming back, though it was extremely fuzzy. He suddenly rolled to the side on pure instinct and narrowly avoided a tentacle as it smashed into the ground. He lashed out with his sword and severed the end from it. It took him a moment to realize that he had heard the sound of it as it swung through the air.
"No." He said to Mathias. "That things got to run out of limbs eventually."
William followed the sound of Mathias' voice and darted across the cave to stand back to back with him. "We'll hold out until it does. then we'll have plenty of time to figure out how to finish it off."

The monster's appendages whipped at Kiro who was now in striking range. A tentacle which was about to strike Kiro down out of mid-air, was sliced perfectly in two by Kiro's sword which allowed him to pass through it.
Kiro Grabbed ahold of the beast by whatever he could get a hold of. Kiro was positioned away from the fiend's mouth, however this didn't keep him from continuously stabbing the monster in every vulnerable location which had not already been stabbed or slashed.
Kiro got in at least fifteen good hits before the fiend focused all it's attention on him and sent Kiro flying with great force with one giant swing from multiple tentacles. Kiro struck against the stone wall hard and then fell another ten or so feet to the solid ground.

"Mathias, with me!" William shouted as he ran to Kiro.
As he ran Will snapped his left arm down and caused a pair of daggers to fall out of his sleeve into his waiting hand. He sent both daggers spinning through the air to fly into the fiends mouth. Neither returned.
"Chew on that." William muttered.
William quickly arrived to where Kiro had fallen and set himself to defend his friend from the storm of tentacles that were now flying through the air at him. William began to deflect and redirect the offending appendages, not bothering to put in the extra strength or time it would take to cleave them. For the moment he was focused solely on defense.

Mathias was glad for William's help as they fought back to back for a time. After a few moments of frantic slashing and parrying, William called for Mathias to join him and ran off to help Kiro.
Mathias sighed and muttered,"Can we even kill this thing?" before dodging passed tentacles that tried to snare or blind him. Swing, slash, stab, dodge, parry, swing. He couldn't keep this up. His breathing was growing even more labored, and his face felt hot as a furnace, sweat running freely down his face. Only certain death and becoming a monter's dinner spurred Mathias to keep attacking, to keep swinging and weaving.
Mathias finally made it back to William's side and helped to fend off the tentacles as they tried to take advantage of Kiro's vulnerability. It was nice having a partner to watch one side and draw some of the attacks.

Once Mathias returned to his side William was able to focus more of his attention on offense again. He began to hack, slash, and slice into the offending limbs as they came near.
Suddenly, the onslaught ended. William looked up and saw that the beast was a mass of severed tentacles. Hardly one in ten of its many limbs still remained whole. Will glanced down and saw that there were piles of severed tentacle ends lying strewn and scattered about the floor of the cave.
"Well, looks like we've pretty much taken care of that." William said as he stabbed the tip of his sword into the cave floor and used it to support himself. "Now how do we get it dow-"
William was cut short as the fiend released its grip on the ceiling of the cave and fell heavily to the floor. Its body, which had been spread out across the surface of the ceiling reformed, showing rows and rows of small hook like feet which it now positioned under itself. Its mouth moved more towards its "front", along with its remaining tentacles. Then it charged.
"s**t!" William said as he pushed off from his sword, using his momentum to pull it from the ground. He grabbed Kiro by the back of his top and dragged him with as he darted to one side, narrowly avoiding being crushed as the fiend slammed into the cave wall.
"Finish it! Quick!" Will shouted as he released his hold on Kiro and took his sword in both hands. He charged in at the beast and began cutting into it in long slices.

Mathias cringed as the large fiend dropped to the floor and then yelped when it charged. He tucked his legs and rolled to the side as it slammed into the cave wall. Shards of splintered stone showered over him from the impact, and he coughed as he inhaled dust kicked up by the fiend. Mathias heard Willam yelling about killing the thing and thought that a good idea.
Mathias wobbled to his feet and began running at the creature. It was just starting to move away from the wall when Mathias managed to leap forward, reversing his grip on his blades before slamming onto the fiend's back and ramming his sword and dagger into its rubbery flesh. With barely a pause, Mathias pulled out his dagger and buried it again, but higher, then followed suit with his sword. Using his blades, Mathias was scaling up the creature to reach it's top, stabbing over and over as he climbed.

Kiro finally regained his awareness as the beast took the ground assault. He joined his two comrades in their charge, though in an extremely angry and irritated state of mind from the fiend's previous strike on him.
Kiro sprinted within range of the fiend and began slashing in a spinning wirl-winding attack with a loud battle cry. Blood and flesh from the fiend was now flying in every direction and drenching the ground as well as Kiro.

As the three Hunters joined together in a group assault the fiend attempted to retaliate with its remaining tentacles. His vision mostly back to normal, though still slightly blurry, William quickly severed those that came near him. One particularly close tentacle assault forced him to leap back a bit.
Will took the opportunity to take in the state of the fiend. There were almost more slashes, gashes, and slices on it then there was whole flesh. The beast was shuddering, and its counterattacks were sluggish.
"Keep it up, guys! We're just about through here." Will called out.
William stepped back and removed a sheet of parchment from a jacket pocket. He had never retrieved his ink and brush after defeating the first fiend and knew he would never find them amongst the mass of tentacles that lay strewn about the cave floor. Instead he slammed his sword point down in the ground, then ran the tip of his index finger across the blade. The skin parted easily and the blood started to flow. Using his bleeding finger as ink and brush William drew a sealing rune on the parchment. When he was finished, and reasonable sure that his makeshift rune would hold up Will started blowing on it lightly to help it finish drying.
"Just about ready here, guys. Kill the damn thing and we'll finish this."
