Penelope listened to Mr Finagle explain his reason for being aboard the Khaos. Remembering her own experience with pirates on the self-same ship, she shuddered slightly. Something shining near Mr Myles caught her eyes and she looked up to see the golden clank beside him with it's head open and part of it in his hands. That's weird, she thought. The clank head that Ms Emelia had been examining before had been full of gears, but this one was hollow.

"Its only until I know that the Pirates aren't tracking me down. Really I need to find the flying church." He leans back and crosses his arms " There's an item that I need them to safeguard for me"

He eyes orb that hangs around his pets neck then directs his attention to the empty headed clank and raises an eyebrow. What the....?

Myles follows Finagle's surprised expression to the clank he's examining.

"It's completely empty inside. I'm assuming all of the mechanisms are inside the structures on the back."

He then takes the clank's left hand and kisses it in a gentlemanly manner. The right side of the clank's chest opens up like a castle of cards falling in reverse, then it reaches in with the left hand and retrieves a leather holder with two stoppered vials tucked in. It presents this and its chest collapses into its previous contours.

Myles takes the vial pouch, and looks thoughtfully at it in one hand and the head plate in the other. "Now the real question at this point is, do I trust myself?"

"Oh, no apologies needed!" She blushes at the compliment, then looks sheepish. "And thank you!" After studying him for a moment more, she giggles. "'Strange one,' hmm? Well, that seems like a mixed blessing of a name than something to be embarrassed about, to be quite honest. Is there a story behind it? But, in any case, 'tis still quite lovely, and to be quite honest again, it's even nicer now knowing the meaning of it. Even though you don't seem so strange..." She smiles kindly at him.

"Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure where the captain is. He mentioned having to speak to his crew, and disappeared below deck, and that's the last I saw of him. Granted, that also wasn't too long ago, but I'm new on the ship myself, and still don't know my way around, and couldn't possibly guess where they would be." She laughs suddenly. "If you want, we can try to find him. Or at the very least, try to find a clank to pass a message along; they seem rather capable of doing that." She points to his pack and grins. "And maybe find a place for you to put that, as well?"

[galley]
watching the golden clank colaps on itself with wonder, Daniel relizes that the thing could easily fit in a breifcase if the whole thing was folded up, or a suitcase.

"I trust you myles, so far nobady is too upset at you or your other, aside from Nysth perhaps." The man was probably still bemoaning his cannon and trying to re assemble it after the clanks took vengence on him. Daniel almost felt sorry for the guy.

"do what you need to do"

another clank, while clearing up doe of the debis from the battle, noticed the new arrivals. haveing observed its counter part aiding them, had trundeled off to the hanger and downloaded the actions into the teaching device for the clanks. It then returned to the deck, joined by another clank, and approached the pair, "Greetings, How can one be of assistance" the clanks say in unison.

Myles looks over with a wry grin. "Of course you trust me. But do I trust her? According to this convenient set of instructions, this vial here contains a weakened dose of the transformative and the other contains a few drops of a strong hallucinogen, and taking both should safely enable us to use that clank there to essentially be in two places at once, but all I have is her word. She's a far more concentrated intellect than I, she's undoubtedly refined the serum beyond my capabilities to even begin to analyze. What if her aim is to trick me into eliminating myself from the equation, leaving only her? What if you were in my place, would you take it without hesitation?"

"Well I really don't know why I was named Eldon Thur'Odith? I suppose now it makes sense, since I am quite unique, as my people are thieves and villains. I, on the other hand, am interested more in industry and adventure. I believe that is why they call me strange." sad He paused a moment to reflect upon his thoughts. It pained him to think that his people were so unjust, and that HE was the odd one in his homeland. He decided to pack his feelings away before Lenore noticed. biggrin

"Oh my. That does present a small delay." He said. "Shall we look for the captain then? Im not sure I trust these "clanks" as you call them. They seem rather suspicious. stare I think i would be more willing to search with you, and a face to face, with the captain, would be more formal when asking for a job, one would think?" biggrin

Abigail remained silent throughout the back-and-forth of the crew's conversation. Myles's confrontation with his perfect opposite seemed to her to be a matter one would want to deal with privately and away from judging eyes. Not that most on their crew would openly voice these judgments but it was silly to think the event wouldn't bring up new alarms and concerns, even if these were not concious thoughts or actions- on the crew's part or even Myles's. Still, he had asked the crew to be there and had even expressed such worries to them. Whether they were meant as backup or moral support she had yet to determine. Abigail could respect Myles's move either way, hallucinogen or not. Curiosity was a dangerous and intriguing thing and knowing how he had given in to it in the past, seeking the serum and meddling with it, she could hardly see him resisting this time.

As for her figity patient Finagle, if that was indeed his name, she did not let his story go unheard. The mention of pirates had caught her attention and she allowed herself to drift between conversations, picking up pieces. Abigail had dealt with pirates herself in the past and had both good and bad experiences with them. As it was though, even the good experiences had essentially been rather unsavory and downright reckless, but she typically kept such smears on her character quiet. She wasn't exactly acting under proper influence at the time. This fellow might have something interesting to say later on.

Something clicked when Myles asked Daniel his loaded question. To submit to Bruno's will or to bring the game to his own terms. She supposed she ought offer up some perspective, even if hers had not been specifically asked for. Crossing her legs, Abigail slunk a little lower in her chair and stared at the captain and strange explorer.

"I certainly wouldn't. I know my subconcious and I know that I do not want it running rampant in decent company. Hell, even in uncivilized company I would want to keep the reigns. You should return to your original question, can you trust yourself? In as addled a state as you will be, do you feel confident that you can remain stronger than she? Is your audio-visual cortex ready to be ripped in twain, torn between two minds as they battle for control or even worse, conversation?" She grinned a little. "You don't have to know her character through and through but you damn well better know yours."

"That is a good point. However, I think after consideration that this mixture is not intended to harm me. Note Ms. Bruno's pseudonym taken from a charming children's tale. And also the whimsical triggers she left for me to retrieve these tools."

He pulls the corks out, and settles the plate on his head. "Besides, I don't intend to try to be two people in one body, that's what the clank is for. Ishkabibble," he says, and raises the vials slightly in a nonchalant toast before drinking them both at once.

The plate hums quietly and seems to tighten on the crown of his head.

The hollow clank gives a very slight shudder, then looks at its hand curiously. "Ah," it says in a quiet voice that sounds different from the other clanks. It sounds more like a small harp being played than a music box being plucked.

"I was not entirely sure that would work."

(note: to our passengers on deck, the clanks are offering to help you, should you need it. and clank talk is in bold just so everyone knows)

1000th post! WOOOT!

[galley]
Daniel was struck at Myles question, that was a heavy decision to make, tho he doubted his other half would be much different other than a more strict version, as he got druing strenuous situations.

ready for anythong as myles downs the contents of the vial, and still on slight edge as Ms. Bruno took over the clank. "welcome back again, Ma'am. I beg your pardon about my gunner, i was not aware of his rampaging until just before we encountered you."

Daniel glances at myles, not sure who had control of what. while he may be a product of mad science and magic, Dan didnt really understand any of it.

"Pardon one, but the captain is in a meeting in the galley," one of the clanks tells Lenore and Eldon.

"Is there any way one can assist you?" asks the other clank.

( sweatdrop Ah, sorry, school got in the way of responding… stupid finals. At least that’s over for now, though! *happy dance* Thankies for the tip about the clanks! And it'll take a lot more than that to make Lenore not notice, she's used to watching people and their emotions... XD )

[deck]
“Oh, bah, then that just means you’ll fit even more here!” Noting the hurt on his face, but also noting how quickly he hid it again, Lenore chooses to not question him further about his past. At least not at this time… “But that sounds like a lovely plan! A search’ll be fun, and it is definitely more formal to present yourself in person to the captain I suppose. Though, the clanks seem…” She twirls around while saying that and comes face to face with the pair of clanks. Faltering, she continues. “Seem… to... be right here.” She laughs slightly nervously. Why didn’t I hear them walk up? “They do seem to be quite reliable; at least, the captain trusts them, and that should be reassuring enough, right? No captain in his right mind would let harmful things on his ship knowingly...” I hope. “But it’s understandable to feel that way about them…”

"Greetings. How can one be of assistance?"

Synchronized, interesting... "Em, well..."

"Pardon one, but the captain is in a meeting in the galley."

"Is there any way one can assist you?"

Lenore glances at Eldon and shrugs. "It's up to you, I suppose. We could try to go find him in the galley, if we're allowed to. At least we have a general idea where he is. Er... well... we would if we knew where the galley was, at least!" She laughs brightly.

Addressing the clanks, she can't help but notice their workmanship again. Lovely, lovely things... "Do you know if the captain would object if we sought him out? And if he wouldn't object, can you please tell us where the galley is?" Remembering Eldon's distrust of them, and remembering the clank from before and how it acted as an escort, she adds: "But I think we'll be able to find it ourselves, if you just point us in the right direction. We'll have to find our way around the ship sometime, anyway, might as well start learning the layout now."

[I know I haven't posted in far too many weeks, but I promise that I shall rejoin the thread on Wednesday, whatever has happened in the intervening time. I must apoligise as the reason for this is that my previous IC reason for my absence was my character's own absence, and I just do not think his return has been after a plausible amount of time up until recently, only now I'm away again 'til Wednesday. But then Elliot shall return!]

The golden clank regards Daniel for a moment. And then it speaks in an amused tone, the voice resonating softly behind the motionless mask of the face. "You realize, of course, that you are addressing as 'ma'am' someone who is essentially two weeks old?"

And then it turns to Myles, whose eyes at this point seem a little unfocused. "Explain to me why all these people are here."

He replies, "You did attempt to hijack most of them for the remainder of their lives. No matter how pleasant you were planning on trying to make their imprisonment, I think they deserve a confrontation. The others just dropped in, and if they're planning on staying they deserve to know about you."

And then Myles turns to the assembled and says, "any questions? Feel free to ask whatever is necessary to set your minds at ease on this matter."

Eldon's keen ears didn't even hear the clank behind Lenore, until she was in mid twirl. This just furthered his distrust for them. He did not enjoy eavesdroppers, and furthermore, it bothered him that he could not hear the machine coming.

"Greetings. How can one be of assistance?"

"Pardon one, but the captain is in a meeting in the galley."

"Is there any way one can assist you?"

Eldon just glared at the clank, even though it was a very wonderous piece of machinery, but he could not shake his suspicions. "No we don....." he began to say, but Lenore began asking questions. She was a rather spritely girl, and he couldn't help but smile. "Agreed, then we shall search for the captain ourselves." He looked at the clank. "Thank you for your assistance, but were fine now..." He said trying to be polite, as he didn't know much about them yet, and wanted to learn more. He didn't want to reveal his suspicions to them.

[Sorry been busy with school finals week, lol.]
