The boy recoiled a bit as his left hand collided with his face as he attempted to perform his test a bit too fast compared to his earlier workings. After several extended blinks Rhaim was able to shake himself out of his lost concentration that the smack had caused. He couldn't believe he was so clumsy as to actually hit himself while trying to make handseals. His only hope now was that no one had seen the incident to recount the tale to others later. The young lad rubbed his nose as he looked over the scroll once more to ensure that he knew what he was supposed to do. First he did a few test runs at full speed with his eyes open, leaving only the same thing to be done with his eyes closed. The Nara dropped his hands to his sides and nodded his head to indicate to himself that he was indeed ready.

He was already two thirds of the way completed with learning all of the handseals now and what's more is he could feel that success affect his ability to further understand the rest of the handseals. Though the latter part of that was mostly in the kids head, it gave him the extra bit of confidence that he needed to finish the task. He gave himself a quick yawn as a reward for getting so far, but was quick to turn his squinting eyes back to the scroll to master the next handseal. This next one seemed a bit harder than the earlier ones in that it required more dexterity in his fingers than he knew he had. The position wasn't hard so much as it was awkward and new to the boy. However he would not let that deter him as he readied himself for another blind trial.

The awkwardness of the position had indeed been his pitfall as he had presumed that it would be. The boy took an extra long amount of time playing with his hands in an effort to make sure that he truly grasped how to make the handseal properly. He sort of wished that that time that his sisters had at least shown him some of the handseals or a trick to learning them before he was actually in the Academy. Though the sensai hadn't made any mention of a time limit, Rhaim didn't exactly feel like getting bumped from there because he was taking too long to get a simple concept. He took a few breaths before putting his eyes back on the scroll and his hands back into the strange new position. He ran through the slow trials with some choppiness but couldn't seem to find himself improving enough to delay his test.

The boy was just as shocked as anyone watching him would have been to see that he had managed to get down the difficult new handseal that had been confusing him. However he was not about to celebrate his accomplishment again, and thus thrust himself back into the scroll and tore apart the ins and outs of the next handseal that he was going to commit himself to. With a thorough working mental knowledge of how the handseal should be conducted the young lad started his standard slow to fast movements while watching exactly what he was doing. As soon as he felt ready to give himself his own personal test, he stifled a sneeze and let his arms go limp. He closed his eyes and brought his hands up to bare in the form of what he'd hope would be the handseal.

The sneeze escaped the boys mouth violently causing him to doubt whether or not he'd been able to focus on the handseal well enough to properly put it together. Though in the end it had come together and he'd been able to check one more handseal off of the list. The Nara squated down before the scroll and traced the next handseal with his finger to try and understand the flow that it seemed to give off. After which he simply stared at the form itself, adding together all of the pieces as he started to do his fast to slow drills. He kept a sharp eye on all of his movements, this was not the time to be making dumb mistakes. With the handseal properly made in his hands, Rhaim took an extra few moments to truly study the way it felt in his hands and against his chest. Satisfied with how it felt he lowered his arms and shut the lids to his eyes once again. His arms whipped up into the dance of trying to put together the handseal.

The small child waved his arms about in front of himself as the friction of his hands sliding across each other burned his skin. After about two flaps the boy settled down and looked at his hands seperately, trying to decide which one was to blame. Ultimately he decided that the one to blame was neither of his hands, but rather himself for trying to get too fancy with his handseals. He was in an enviroment to learn at the moment, not to showboat and try and make himself a sight for all to behold. He definately did not want attention brought to himself if he could help it at all. With the slight burning sensation passed away the young Nara peered over at his scroll and re-evaluated his slow to fast abilities with his eyes open. one he felt comfortable with that exercise again he proceeded to calm himself and let his mind picture the proper handseal being made.

He could really feel the energy surgeing through him now as he looked down at his scroll. There was only one more handseal that he needed to master before he could move on with the Academy training. He was glad to be so close to finished with the first assignment since it meant that his chances of catching up to the Uchiha were that much greater. Though he had nothing against the Uchiha nor felt any sort of bonded rivalry, his sisters had told him to find someone stronger than him that he could strive to catch and to make that his goal. So as the young Nara went over how to make the handseal in his head, he also went over how he'd have to work extra hard to catch up to the Uchiha kid. He soon found himself blazing through his slow to fast drills and was ready for his testing in almost no time at all. As he threw the handseal together with his eyes closed he dreaded that he had gone too fast in his practices and was going to miss something.

The sun was still rising when Tenma arrived at the training grounds, again. She looked around and saw all of the same people. It also seemed that Rhiam was doing well with his work. Tenma went and sat below her tree again, ready to pick up where she left off. Placing her scroll infront of her she noticed that Rhiam had his the entire time. Did he not know he had his with him? Not wanting to give it too much thought Tenma focused on the dog handsign again.
Fisted right under flattened left was all she was thinking when she dared to give it yet another try. Her mind was cleared from earlier that morning and Tenma closed her eyes. Unfortunately, her hands were still reversed: fisted left under flattened right. It just wasn't there yet, but Tenma was getting closer. Plus, she had just taken time off.

Tenma gave herself a reassuring nod every time she made the correct handsign. This was still going to be diffcult for her, but she could make it work - she knew it.
"Fisted right under flattened left" she muttered as she closed her eyes for another attempt. Tenma's eyes opened in shock as she realized that, not only was the sign wrong, but she had missed her hands entirely. She stared shocked as her hands rested in her lap.

With a slight blush in her cheeks Tenma decided to keep going - she had to get this or else she wouldn't be satisfied with herself. She watched Rhiam momentarily, pleased to see at least his training was going well. Tenma checked her breathing, slow and deep through her mouth. Again she repeated "fisted right under flattened left" in hopes that it would make a difference, though it hadn't yet. No luck here.

Tenma's mind was set - again, again. She flexed her hands and wiggled her fingers in hopes it would make them work. It was a simple sign, she shouldn't be having these many problems. She watched as she repeated the sign over and over. This was something that, when she did get it down, she would never mess up again. Her eyes closed and...failure. This time Tenma's hands didn't even move when she wanted them to. Wow.

Having completed his handseals training Rhaim noticed that the small girl had both returned and seemed to be having problems with getting her handseals. The Nara sunk his hands into his pockets and walked over to the girl. Standing in front of her he squated down and took her hands and formed them into the proper arrangement, "Now close your eyes and focus on how your hands feel together." He stayed squatting in front of her as he watched to she how she would do with the small trick that he'd learned.

Again Tenma flexed her hands. She would learn whether she wanted to or not. Now her mind was going into overload. How did she keep on messing up? Sure, her motor skills weren't done developing yet because of her age; but this was ridiculus. Her hands rested in her lap as her eyelids touched in preparation for yet another attempt.
...SUCCESS!!!!
Tenma heard a pop as her hands connected and her eyes popped open as looked at her hands. It had worked! Tenma's fists tightened in excitement as she finally made the handsign. Her face expressed pure joy as she finally accomplished what had frustrated her so. Only eleven more to go...

Tenma looked up at the boy and smiled. "Thank you, I think I have it figured out now. Have you completed your's?" Tenma's voice was genuinely filled with joy that she finally figured out that damned handseal. Next was boar, two fists upside down and palms facing eachother.
As Tenma continued to look at the boy she practice the sign, momentarily closing her eyes to give it a try. Tenma's eyes quickly opened to check her work and, again, a smile sppread across her face. Now she was getting the hang of things. At this rate she would have this done in no time at all. Again she was looking at Rhiam, curious of his response.

The squinty eyed Nara had neither happiness nor anger on his face, but rather an expression that showed little to no motivation and possibly a hint of sleepiness. It was rather early for him after all. The boy stood up, "Yeah I got them while you were out. If you don't need any help then I won't bother you. Thanks for letting me use your scroll."
The boy held his hands in his pockets as he lazily walked of towards Shiru-sensai to find out what he had in store for him next. Hardly even making eye contact, "I'm done Shiru-sensai, what's next?"
