Kyoshi scowled and pinned her arms over her head and flicked her forehead. "You kleptomanic. What did you steal? How valueable are they? Who did you steal from? And does Rave know? I'll not stop him from ripping you a new one." Well...Maybe he would but the might have to think about that one really hard. "Damnit Dusk....I'll go swimming with you another time but your...." He sighed. "A Queen of Thieves should be your nickname." He smiled.
It was a good thing Rave didn't hang up. The elf was smart that way as Joker sighed not wanting to hide anything from the Shadow King. Especially when he could throw another damn brush at him. "Look Rave...I'm not going to let either of you be blindsided but...I've invited Gambler and I want you to know that everyone coming here will behave and I've already asked Dusk for the permission. Listen, no talk of politics or past problems alright? Gambler understands and everyone else does."
The man sighed again. "I know things didn't go well but...I miss everyone. I can understand if you don't want to come here because of her but...I think it would show how great of a friend you are. This is sort of like a dinner for all of us but also a little good bye for Monty. I have something for Kalore that I think he would like to have. If...Thats alright with you and him." Joker wasn't doing his ramblings and didn't correct Rave on him needing a check up. He needed a mental check up but that would have been rude to say anyways.

Yelping, Dusk struggled for a moment as she whined, “It wasn’t anything important!” Whining more, she tried to get out of the other’s hold but it wasn’t like she actually tried… the woman could just use shadows if it came down to it but that didn’t really matter as, well, she liked being there with the man. Smiling cutely and innocently, she leaned up, kissing his nose, “Just some jewels… I’ll give it back eventually…” But it was shiny and she really liked shiny things. “Don’t tell Rave… he’ll probably get mad at you for not watching me close enough.” She smirked, knowing that everyone in her group believed Kyoshi to be her boyfriend, yeah, but mostly just her babysitter so that they didn’t have to watch her.
Stilling, Rave didn’t show any of his thoughts as he listened to Joker ramble. He didn’t want to stop him because he didn’t want to answer. No… No, Rave wasn’t some lost, love struck puppy that was going to lose it the next time that he saw Gambler but… he didn’t want to see her. It wasn’t even what she had done to him that bothered him as much as what she had done to Kalore and probably caused. Taking in a slow, low breath, he spoke softly, carefully, “I will be fine, Joker. Gambler did nothing to me that will harm me, but I do not know about Kalore.” He looked up into the room where Kalore was barely moving, only doing so when someone had done something wrong or something had to be fixed. Kalore had been going downhill, and weeks after the incident… he didn’t know why.
Another sigh and he turned, “I will behave and if Kalore agrees to come then I believe that he will as well. Is there anything else that we should know about this meeting, Joker?” His voice was emotionless, but Rave could understand why they were doing all of this; it had been a long time since all of them had made it there together and even Rave missed it just a bit. He had gotten way too used to it while in Gambler’s group and a part of him actually missed it.

Kyoshi twitched and growled, pinching her cheek hard. "Now see here brat. I couldn't watch you because I was working and if that damned elf doesn't care then....Looks like your free to do as you wish without worrying about Rave." He kissed her nose but didn't let up on pinning her. "However, as your watcher you better give the items back and face a punishment by me." He grinned wickedly.
"Hmmm...Gambler's bringing a friend to the party and you should too! It would be such fun." He said and sighed softly. "Just try to make it if you can and if not then I'll send you both some food. I'll see you tomorrow Rave. Bye!" He said then waited to be hung up on and looked at Kit. "Hey, let's take a break after I'm done with this chocolate alright? We can be lazy a bit and then I can get back to work."

Dusk whined as her cheek was pinched, unable to rub it as she glared at the man, sticking her tongue out, “Jerk…” But then it was obvious that there wasn’t anything that Kyoshi could do to Rave so, she ended up winning. Grinning at the man, she nodded in approval, expecting her hands to be let go but apparently that wasn’t going to happen. With a few blinks, Dusk soon was pouting up at the man as she struggled a little, but the struggles weren’t much. “And what’s the big mean Kyo-Kyo going to do to me as a punishment, then? Something bad…?”
Frowning some at the phone in his hand, Rave shook his head. Did he really have a friend that he would want to bring over? Since Isabella, Rave had really stopped getting friends, added to this thing with Gambler… maybe he really was becoming a recluse, but as he hung up he realized that he didn’t care. He enjoyed people, but he didn’t want them close to him for a very long time. Maybe eventually… but he was already nearly a millennium. He didn’t think that he would have much time to find someone else. Gambler had probably been his last shot.
Kit smiled at Joker, nodding some. “Alright. What would you like to do?” She had reached over, taking a small bit of the chocolate off the side of the bowl, licking her finger as she watched him. Did Kit think that she was going to get in trouble for that? Quite possibly… Joker was insane about his food and in a way it was scary, but in another way it was damn funny. Chuckling softly to herself, she tilted her head to the side, “I think… we should just lay down or something. It’s been a busy day already.” And it wasn’t even halfway through yet.

Kyoshi grinned. "Oh yeah. Something bad...Really bad. So bad..." He'll have her screaming so loud it would wake up all of the palace and possible the whole elven nation. Now that was something interesting to achieve. Giving a intense look at Dusk he murmured in her ear softly. "Let's see if you can be heard around the world Dusk."
The insane doctor wipped his face off and took his cooking gear to place on the table and motioned for Kit to follow him. "Let's get a blanket and lay down on the floor and stare at the ceiling. I find it soothing to stare at it until something interesting pops into your head to talk about." He was just the weirdest person in the world.

Blinking at the other, Kit didn’t know if he was being serious or not. But… it was an interesting idea. Looking up at the ceiling, she shrugged. “Go get a blanket and I’ll make us some drinks.” Kit smiled at the other, actually taking his idea and thinking, why not? Why not do something like that? It wasn’t like they were too good to do something innocent and a bit entertaining, no matter how strange it seemed. It wouldn’t kill them to have a little bit of fun. “There are some fluffy blankets in the closet by our room if you want to get one of those.” She grinned at him. Only Kit.. only Kit.
Eyes widening at the words, Dusk blinked before she smirked, leaning up into his touch, “Hmm… let’s see if you’re good enough to make me wake up the world.”

Joker blinked and squeed running off to get the blanket but then....He had to stand and stare at them. For a moment he was just dazed and then picked one with a happy squee. It was fluffy. Walking back to the living room, he moved the coffee table and placed the blanket on the floor and went to get some pillows to be comfortable. Since he was bare footed all he had to do was lay down and look at the ceiling. Yet he couldn't stare at it since he was waiting for Kit. "Alright, darling, ready when you are."
Kyoshi smirked and well...Kicked his author out and closed the world off from making her....Alright I really have to go or else Kyoshi pitches a fit.

Laughing some, Kit nodded as she soon came in with just a few drinks, placing them beside the blanket before moving to sit down. “Ooh, this is a really fluffy one.” Laughing again, she shook her head before she moved to lay down, her arms behind her head. It was interesting, doing something so… simple. The ceiling really wasn’t all that interesting. They had a fan and there was some texture on it but other than that, it was a normal, cream colored ceiling that most people had in their homes. “Now… tell me again what it is that we’re doing, Joker?” She was just following the fan like a normal person… well, was that really a normal person?

"To relax our minds and bodies. I found this out years ago when I was on my back in a rage. I learned that if there's nothing going on and no meds until someone can get them for me, staring at an object would keep me calm. Take the ceiling. I'm laying down and not moving. Plus your mind just eases itself." Turning his head, Joker looked at Kit. "I like you alot Kit. After this dinner, I want to take you out."

Kit looked surprised but soon was glancing over at Joker with a small smile. “I think… that that’s a good thing to learn.” Laughing softly, she looked back up into the ceiling with the smile still on her face. “Joker… how many times have you lost control?” It had been something that she had been curious on. The man had told her that he was dangerous and that she wouldn’t want to be with him at all but… he had yet to give her the details that would tell her just what it was that she had to worry about. Did he become so violent that nothing could stop him? Was there warning? Kit really didn’t know… but she then nodded to the man. “And you can take me out whenever you want. Just know, if I pick the place, I’m paying for it.”

Joker considered that and stared at the ceiling. "I've done it a few times. I don't remember the exact number of times but....I think it should be enough." He blinked and tilted his head to the side. "My first time happened when a war broke out a long time ago. My family's estate just happened to be in the way so we all got caught up in it. The women had to be sent away to safe cities and the men had to stay and fight. I had three brothers and two sisters. My mother and grandmother were still alive. I had brother in laws and sister in laws from them all with tons of nieces and nephews." He smiled fondly at the memory of his vast family and how proud they were.
"I was the middle child with my brothers older than me and my sisters younger than me. Since I wasn't going to inherit the estate I went out to become a doctor. I love how to fix people since it's fascinating how fragile yet strong our bodies are. I was visiting when the war came to our home." He frowned. "We had to send all the women and children away from the hell. We fought but my brothers either ran away to their wives or died. My father died fighting so valiently. He was my hero." Joker remembered his proud father who was tall, dark haired and dark eyed. Joker took some of his mother's looks with her blue eyes. Other than that, he loved his father since he took the time to teach his son he could be whatever he wanted since he didn't have the responsiblities like his first born brother.
"Yet seeing him cut down so brutally...I lost my control and all training taught to me was gone. So I just started hacking away, for a lack of a better way of describing it, until no one but me stood. That was the first taste of it. Afterwards I was the oldest brother who took command of the estate but it was just...broken down rocks by then. I went to find the rest of family to tell them what happened." It had been a sad enough day but eventually time passed enough to mend those wounds.
"After a few years I got married and started a family. I had a practice and started to do really good. Everything was so peaceful. I had a little girl who was the cutest little button you've ever seen. She looked like me." He had a wide smile at that thought. "My wife was a darling too. Slightly fiesty but...Then again who doesn't like that in someone? It was a good time....." All light in his face died and a image of a monster came over his usually cheerful face. "We were in our carriage on our way home from a lovely family dinner. We were enjoying ourselves until our coachman shouted out and started to ride the horses at a fast pace. I looked outside the window and saw dark figures following us, shooting their pistols that were new to us."
Joker took a deep breath. "A shoot rang out and killed our coachman. I told my girls to hide in the seats since there were compartments to hold blankets and such for long travels. They did so and I waited until the horses were stopped by the highway men. They took me out but didn't pay no heed to the seats. The frisked me down and took everything. They could have it. They questioned if I was the only passenger, personally I was ready to knock them out but a dead father and husband wouldn't have been good for my girls. So I listened to them." Sighing softly he covered his eyes.
"They were about to leave when one of them heard the muffled cries of a child." The memories flashed through his eyes. "They found my girls and took them both into the woods. They tied me up when I fought them and dragged me along with them. I thought that we were going to die with a shot in each one of us but no....Those men had other plans. They...took my girls and....." A growl escaped him as his hands curled on his face. "Those b*****ds raped them...both in front of me and then knocked me hard on the head to be rendered useless to them. I fell into unconscieness. It wouldn't be long before I woke up to their lifeless bodies next to me. The highway men laughing and fixing their clothes." Their faces used to haunt him but they were just ghosts of his past he couldn't get in touch with, without losing himself completely.
"That's when I fully lost it. I went berserk on them tearing through my ropes and ripping through them. They shot me but it didn't hurt. It only made me angrier. I hated them. I want to kill them over and over again. I think...That's when I lost my sanity and just devoted myself to being a doctor, manipulating myself and those around me." Sighing again he looked at Kit. "I'm sorry that you have me here so close. I wont hurt you but...Listening to this must be horrible."

Eyes widening, Kit wasn’t totally sure on what to think of the story that she had heard. Hearing what it was from Joker, however, she soon leaned close to him, hugging the man by the time he had finished. “Joker…” Shaking her head, she kissed his cheek, “Don’t apologize, Joker. I know that you’re not going to hurt me, so don’t apologize for something that you’re not going to do.” Another kiss to his cheek and she kept close to the man, just laying there for a moment. There wasn’t anything that Kit could say that would make anything better but… she couldn’t just let him sit there, after telling her his hell, and say ‘poor you’. It was… it was just cold. Without really thinking about it, though, Kit just rested comfortably against him.
“When I was little… my parents weren’t really around much.” She closed her eyes, resting against him. “My dad ran off… I never knew why, but my mom said it was to join the military; my grandparents said that it was to find some other woman… We never really knew for sure, but Mom didn’t really talk bad about him so… so I think that that’s what he did, but I don’t know.” Looking up for just a moment, Kit’s eyes were calm but there was something in them, a sadness that nearly complimented Joker’s anger. “When I could figure out how to handle myself, teenage years for a human, then… Mom was gone. The neighbors said she was looking for a job but…” Kit shook her head, sighing some.
“I think it’s how I ended up in Harl, actually… They would always make these comments about my family and how that’s where we belonged but…” Closing her eyes, snuggled against him. “I gave up looking everywhere else so I decided to say f*ck it and check there.” Another sigh, another shake of the head and she continued, “I never found her, but Eri found me. He… You all kept asking why so many of us ended up dealing with him for the length of time that we did… Eri became the dad I never had, he helped me with clothes and self esteem like my Mom never did… Looking back, I don’t know when things changed but…” She shook her head. “I really don’t know why I’m telling you this but… I guess… Joker, you had a great chance with kids and a life and a family… Even with all of the other things that happened…”
Her eyes finally opened as she sighed some, watching him, “I kinda envy you. I… I bet you made a great dad, berserker or not.”

Joker wrapped his arm around Kit and held her close, stroking her arm gently and listening to her. She might be right but he had to be always on guard with his monster. That monster in him could just jump out at him without knowing it sometimes. Which was why he took his meds in his routine. Sighing he stroked her hair gently, listening to her recount the tale of not having her parents around and people just being people.
The doctor smiled slightly at Kit then cupped her cheek. "Kit, at least you have good friends who are your family." Then his smile turned into a sad one. "Don't envy me...I didn't get to save them. I never got the chance to see to it that my daughter grew up into a beautiful young woman who found a husband and gave my grandchildren." It was his dream to have when he was alive during that time but now he didn't know what he dreamt of. Kissing her forehead, he touched his ear. "I'm honored to know you and have you comfortably in my arms, Kit."

Leaning into the touch on her cheek, Kit smiled softly before shaking her head, “I still envy you, Joker. Even with all of this… you’ve had people that are a family, you’ve got more friends that will stand by you than a lot of people that I know. Added to that, you can take care of yourself really well… A lot of people don’t have that.” She leaned forward, kissing his nose. “But… I’m a bit glad that I’m starting to get a new family… and I like that a lot.” With Dusk and Joker and what used to be the rest of Gambler’s group around, she was beginning to feel like she actually had something around her. They were beginning to fade, but Joker was still right there and… and it made her happy.

Joker kissed her forehead and nodded. "Just know this, regardless of what happens with everyone you have to be open to accepting those around you as something more than friends. Especially when they have a tendency to take care of their own and your part of that. I understand that not everyone is the same, like Rave and Kalore. But look at Dusk and Kyoshi." He grinned. "I'm so proud of them for sticking together and learning from each other that letting their pride get in the way of a good relationship is not worth it. They look so much closer than ever." He sighed and looked at the ceiling, making sure that Kit was more comfortable against him.
"I guess a part of me wanted to remind everyone that we are a family, even if we are the damn oddest thing since the Addams family." That made him blink and grin at Kit wicked. "Will you be Morticia to my Gomez and give me weird babys?" Only Joker can make odd comments.
