A gasp left Kit’s lips but she laughed softly, nuzzling his lips back as she smirked some. “Mm… aggressive already? How interesting.” Kit tilted her head to the side, watching him with sharp green eyes, humor but also something else resting in her eyes. She wanted to see just what the other would do and well… it was obvious that they got along. “I do need a physical… and having a doctor around is quite handy… I think that you would, indeed, be the best choice, Joker.” She nuzzled his lips again, watching him closely. Such an attractive man Joker was… it was a bit odd on why he would go for her. Weren’t blondes overrated?

Talon smiled a bit at the woman but had to sigh some, shaking his head. “I don’t know if Kai is even going to show up… I hope that e does, but there is always that option that he isn’t going to.” A sad smile was on his features at that. “I mean… hopefully he shows up relatively soon, but he’ll be in the house on his own, probably sneak in.” Ali sighed some, looking down at her food. “Why did he leave?” Talon shrugged. “I have no idea.”

Ziggy raised a brow at her, shrugging some. “I’m beginning to believe that I should have stayed with Kai and Ali… it seems as though the childish games aren’t just for children anymore. Or is there something that you would like to reveal, Gambler?” He watched her, not using a title on her name anymore because, frankly, she didn’t deserve it. Yes, having them separated so that both cities could regain the control that they needed was a good move and one that he would have done himself; most countries did so after a disaster. Keeping it that way permanently and making it to where no one from that specific border could come across however, was not at all something he would do. The elves, angels, demons, humans, pyros, whatever was around would benefit more if the borders were regulated, but open.

Oh well, he wasn’t the boss here.

He glanced over at the men that actually looked worried, mainly for his safety it seemed, and he sighed softly, shaking his head. “However… My question is being that you’ve now set up these laws, how are you going to defend them?” That was a curious thing… “You’ve called many of those in my homeland powerful and without limitation… if they are this way then how will you keep them from coming over there if they chose to do so?” Another thought came to him and he nodded some to himself, “You’re powerful and without much limitation yourself… Because of that, I take it, if we should go by your laws in my land, then Area’s citizens should be killed on sight if they’re in our land because of your power base?” He raised a brow, watching her. Demons and Angels… those were more powerful than elves. The elves were strong, but they could still die easily and angels and demons… it took a lot to kill them.

Kit laughed softly, shaking her head some as she felt the other’s hands on her arm. “Hmm… well, they say that it’s good to get a checkup every six months, right?” She leaned into him some, her arms slowly wrapping around him. “it’s been a long time… better safe than sorry so…” Kissing his cheek, she leaned against him, speaking softly. “As soon as possible, Joker. I think that that would be the best…”

Looking a bit surprised at the boy, Talon watched him as he shrugged, “Probably. I’m Talon.” He stood up, going to help her clean as he smiled just a bit at Nyx. “You don’t need to clean up… most of this mess is mine anyway.” He sighed some, listening as Ali was seeming to judge the boy for a moment but then the tension dissipated in the room and he knew that the girl smiled at him. Holding out her hand, she giggled, “I’m Ali! I’ll be your friend, Gabriel. Do you live near here? What’s your mom’s name?” She looked over at the Amazon, blinking. She had yet to hear her name and it bothered her a bit that she didn’t know it… Ziggy had told her not to go around touching people for information without their consent, too, so there went doing that…

He regarded Gambler for a moment and for a while it took Ziggy to actually look at her in the point of a leader. It was hard for him to do so, however. Everyone had their legitimate reasons for doing things; even the elves had events that had occurred, reasoning on why those impacted the decision, things like that. At the moment… it looked like she was just running on emotion and something else. Yes, there was some logic in what she was saying, but honestly, there really wasn’t. He didn’t respond for a long time, just watching her past his own sunglasses, hiding the dracokin eyes that he could never get rid of.

Ziggy finally sighed, shaking his head. “No one can stop you… but you’re not going about things the correct way…” But he said no more, leaning back and just relaxing again, comfortable and looking as bored as he had looked throughout the whole conversation. Would he say anything else about this? No. But he would report and explain the additions to the rules but also his own worries. Something was going on. He just didn’t really know what. All Ziggy knew was that he really hoped Rave and the council didn’t hear about these laws anytime soon.

Kit looked surprised. Joker was going to wait until then? It wasn’t that she couldn’t wait but it definitely surprised her that it would be like that. Smiling a bit at him, she leaned over, kissing him softly as she nodded. “I’ll have to take a shower… so it might be an hour or two before I’m ready to go house hunting.” How odd did that sound? Shopping for a house, an actual home, that she and Joker could live in. It wasn’t something that she had thought that she would ever do, let alone with another person who was the one paying for everything. Most people would be thrilled about that, but she wished that she could afford more. Kit would just have to pay rent to him just to make sure he got some form of money back.

Was he seriously being kicked out? He didn’t know if it was for the words that he had spoken or an honest reason from the woman… he doubted that there was much about Gambler that was honest anymore, however. Standing up, a sweet smile was on Ziggy’s features as he didn’t even look at the men that surrounded him; even if most of them were taller than he was, all of them broader. Giving a small bow – oops, was that mocking? – he straightened and nodded to her.

“I don’t wish to disrupt your important meeting, Gambler. I can see myself out. I need to make sure my sister isn’t trying to cross the border anytime soon… no need for a ten year old to be shot on their way back… Would be such a tragedy.” He turned on his heel, giving a small wave before he walked out. Yes… he had insulted her; multiple times. Was he afraid of being shot? He actually expected someone to attack him… but it wasn’t like anything could honestly kill him. they wouldn’t shoot him in the head because even that was a bit too extreme. The shoulder? How many times had Kyoshi shot him there already? Ziggy had no fear of them.

Talon sighed but nodded some. “Alright… but you don’t need to if you don’t wish to. Ali’s a handful when she wants to be, so no need to worry about this…” He blinked as he heard Ali giggling, glancing back with a small smile. “The other Area? In one of the nice ones or the bad ones? Ziggy says that there are some really bad areas around here… but I don’t know. I’ve only been to Ellwood… Actually, we’re supposed to go back soon.” She smiled some, brightly. “I’ve got a bunch of friends over there, oh! And in Haven! And Dark Haven! Have you been into any of those places?” She touched his ears, tugging very gently. “It’s where the elves are, the ones with the pointy ears. My brother’s ears are kinda pointed… but not really. He’s not a pure elf. Tally’s are a little pointy too…”

Smiling softly, Kit shook her head a bit before she moved to be able to get ready. It took her a while, but most of her time was spent thinking about what it was that she was going to do with a real house. For the longest time, Kit couldn’t remember ever being in anything but a crappy apartment that was never really in the best shape or in the best area. Under Eri’s management, that was when she lived the best but… that had come with its own costs. Whatever had happened to him… she didn’t know. The man had been so nice before. But people change and sometimes it just isn’t for the better. If only… if only he could have changed for the better.

He heard the weapon being pulled and he head Gambler’s comment. He really shouldn’t have done anything about it, but as he left the room, a low chuckle could be heard. Then the man was gone. It took him only a little while to take out his phone, calling Kyoshi this time instead of Dusk. He would want to hear the new information about the laws, but he would keep out how he had left. Unless Kyoshi asked specifically, there really just wasn’t any reason to share that small bit of information. It wasn’t like he was going to die or anything, but it still pissed him off a little… oh well.

A laugh came from Talon as he nodded, leaning against the counter. “I guess that you’re right… but…” he was cut off with Ali giggling as Nyx pulled Gabriel’s other ear. “I didn’t pull that hard… I just showed you the ear…” She laughed some before walking over to Talon, hugging him. “Tally… when can we go over to Ellwood? You promised that we could go today!” She glared up at him and he sighed, shaking his head as he stroked her hair slowly. “I didn’t promise… but I did say that we would try. Try, Ali… I said try.” He laughed as she hit him, touching her wrist before looking up at Nyx. “That bad ones, huh? I heard that they’re starting to clean up, though. How far up are you?”

Sighing softly, Ziggy leaned back a bit, “Hello there, Kyoshi… How is our favorite tamer doing?” The creature he would tame would be Dusk, of course. Another sigh and soon he was relaying the rest of the laws, frowning some as he stopped, standing before his own home. “I will admit, Kyoshi. It angers me. My sister and I have friends in Ellwood and in many other elvish areas. I will not have her going there and not able to come back out of risk of her being detained just for being half elvish. I don’t know what your boss is up to… but I warned her to be cautious as I’m sure someone else by now has. She’s treating the elvish people like snakes, and when you treat someone like that enough… that’s what they begin to become.”

Talon smirked some at the woman, shaking his head, “I’m amazed that you can smile and be like this… from what I saw before, I didn’t think that it was possible… Then again, you didn’t seem to enjoy being called a woman before…” He looked amused as Ali just looked at the two, confused. “What are you talking about?” She reached out but Talon gently smacked at her hand. “Ali… What did your brother say?” The little girl huffed. “No touching…” “Because why?” She pouted, crossing her arms, “No touching to find information because that’s intrusive and rude…” “Good girl. Now finish eating.” Ali continued to grumble as Talon looked over at Nyx, giving her a small smile. “but… in all seriousness, I’m a bit impressed. It’s nice to see people out of battle. Your son is quite… adorable, actually.” He chuckled, watching the moping boy. He reminded him of Dusk, actually…

The shower took a while, but soon Kit was coming out with her hair washed and dried, slowly drying in a towel as she had the tank top and jeans on. “Stupid water… I really hate how quick it shuts to cold.” She sighed, shaking her head but then Kit noticed it. Joker was on her floor. “Um… Joker?”

The man sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Kyoshi… I’m not in front of them. Gambler asked my opinion and I gave it. Granted, it was a lot more diplomatic than that… but the more she pushed, the more honest I was. I take it she didn’t like my opinion… but, she and her other men are speaking about something important that I’m not to know about.” He looked a bit amused, leaning against the wall of his home. It was funny, listening to Nyx and Talon while also talking to Kyoshi. The blue haired man needed some form of humor in his life. “I think a few of them want to kill me now, though… Goody. I haven’t had anyone gunning for me since you and Lucien. It’s been a boring year this time.” Such an a*****e sometimes, Ziggy was.

It took him only a moment to start laughing, shaking his head. “I don’t know what I expected… A little boy in full leather armor? That was one image I had…” Talon smirked, moving to pat Nyx on her head. “But you’re a good mother. I’m glad that you can do more than stomp on people’s faces.” Oh, he had such a great follow up comment to that… but no, talking about looking up women’s skirts was just begging to be hit by this woman and he needed to get going so now really wasn’t the time to start a fight….

Watching Joker with his moods was by far one of the best things that she had seen in a while. Laughing some, Kit shook her head before letting her hair free, nodding. “let me put on some shoes and then we’ll be out.” The woman soon had done just that, locking up her house before grabbing her cellphone and some extra cash. “So… You sure you don’t mind buying a house? I know the area that I would want so it shouldn’t take all that long… the real estate market here moves a bit faster than that of the Areas and the rest of the human worlds. You guys take a while for that stuff.” It was one of the few things that they moved quickly in, it seemed.

Ziggy didn’t get angry but he instead laughed a little. “I think that it was a mix of both, Kyoshi. I don’t know her well so I don’t judge what she does too harshly, but you have to admit that timing was nearly perfect, no?” He sighed some before he began to go to the door. Maybe he needed to just go inside, but listening to those in the house was… fun. Plus, this conversation needed to be done with and figured out soon. “I stopped being diplomatic when she insulted the elves, but I don’t know what you want me to do. I will continue with the job that you’ve given me, but… I’d find someone that is known to get through to her. I understand that Kalore and Rave are on deadly terms with her… but are there any others that have the same effect that those two do?”

Surprise just never seemed to fade as she was walking with Joker, shaking her head some. “I can’t believe that you’re doing all of this, Joker…” The woman frowned a bit, watching him. Was he serious that he didn’t want anything from her in return? That was probably the biggest thing that she didn’t understand. As she got into the car, she looked up at him, sighing softly. “Joker… is there anything that you want in return for all this? I mean… there’s gotta be something.”

A twitch came from the man but he composed himself. Already, Talon had spent way too much time away from his mission but soon he sighed some and shook his head. He wouldn’t bother with Nyx… “I would fight back, but your kid is there and no need for him to see his mom on the ground…” He winked at the woman, smirking a bit before leaning down, pressing a gentle kiss to Ali’s forehead. “Be good, alright? I’ve taken too long. I’ll be back soon.” Another kiss as she hugged him and soon he was walking out, giving a small wave to the woman before he left. “Make sure to get our numbers from Ali, but I gotta get going.”

The apology caught him off guard and it wasn’t long before Ziggy was sighing softly, moving away from his house as he and Talon narrowly avoided seeing one another. “Kyoshi… we’re not hiring anyone to kill her… There has to be something. If anything, then we just watch and pick up the pieces when everything crashes and burns.” He glanced around some, moving so that he could walk in the back alleys. It had always been something that was a little comforting for him, though he would never know why. “Also… speaking of dramatically unstable people… Has anyone found Rave yet?”

Ali looked over at the woman, confused. “Why do you not like big brother?” She frowned a bit, not understanding. Granted, she could just look into Nyx’s emotions… but her brother had made that a habit that she had to break. It wasn’t as much fun having to ask stupid questions and not just know the answer.

She didn’t notice anything at first as she nodded before looking over at Joker. “Joker?” When he first didn’t reply, Kit frowned as she noticed just how tense the man was. “Joker!” Touching his hands gently, she shook her head some, pointing to the street. “Did you have a house in mind or…?” She thought that she was going to give the information… but maybe he decided that there was one that he liked? Joker was paying for it, so she’d put up with whatever he chose. It would be better than what she had been living in.
