...you mistake someone smoking for someone sucking on a reed and start coughing on the smoke.
...you've ever tuned your bed, a bottle of beer soda at various levels of liquid in the bottle, a plastic cup of cereal or other random objects.

You know your a band geek when:
You rather spend all your time in the music room then go home.
You have "Special" relationships with instruments.
You mistaken your music teacher/BD/conductor for your mom or dad.

You know you're a band geek when you call your boyfriend/girlfriend by your instrument's name, or vice versa. >.<
You know you're a band geek when you name your instrument in the first place.

You know your a band nerd when... you ask the director if you can conduct the class for the day because you practiced at home with the audio tapes. biggrin

... you're the first at the school and last to leave, especially if it's because you just don't have the one part of the music just right so you need to wood chuck it.
... when you use corny phrases like woodchucking when figuring out tough patturns or chocolate when counting triplets.

Not sure if these were said:
You know your a band geek if your instrument lays beside you, outside of the case, while you sleep at night, even if it is a huge tuba or drum practice pad.
You know your a band geek when other than the internet, and sometimes even that, everything on your computer is dedicated to band or your instrument.
You know your a band geek when you bury your old instrument after it's broken permanently and give it a funeral, instead of selling it to a pawn shop.
You know your a band geek when you have a room that's nothing more than a shrine to band music and band instruments.

You're a band nerd when
-Your band director says ,"You finger, I'll play along," and you don't get all disgusted like the other people in study hall.
-You personally yell at the bass clarinets for accidentally playing on the rests after the concert.
-You spend waaaay too much time with your band director that you've officially become his/her office helper. AND you skip gym class just to be in their presence
-You relate to 90-100% of all these in the whole thread and did the math yourself.
-You actually READ all of these
-You recognize one or two of the songs from your upcoming concerts as songs you've already played in band camp
-You constantly nag your band director to give you a solo even though they just gave you one at the last concert.
-Find something to complain about the trumpets to your band director at least once every two rehearsals
-You have a perfectly fine intermediate instrument but still want one of every color of that instrument
-You make fun of the choir kids
-You think your marching band's marching beat is the coolest and tell the rival band that it's better than theirs.
-You threaten to bash someone's head in with your sousaphone then force them to pay for the dent if they get out of step one time.
(I've been guilty for all of these, except in the last one it would be 'bari sax', not sousaphone)

-And when you have dreams of becoming section leader.
-And you search for an exact replica of your instrument on the internet.
-And you search for a soundclip of your band music on the internet, even if it takes hours, just to get extra credit in band.
-And when you finally find it, you put it on repeat so you can listen to it over and over, and listen to how your band can improve

Sorry if these are repeats...
You know you're a band geek when...
1. You can't count past 8(or 16)
2. You walk in step with your friends without trying(i do that all the time with my bf, who's a drummer and all my other band friends, and i'm in the pit
3. You only know the alphabet through the letter "G"
4. You spend Halloween at you directors house(i didn't, but only because i had no ride lol)
5. You learn knew instruments just so your band can have the right tamber(i've done this multiple times)
6.You injur yourself and still play even though you could permanently damage your wrist by doing so....(that's me too.....)
