-He frowned gently at the youth's outcry, unsure of how to comfort one of the Firekin, or if there was really a way at all. Mwali was atleast right about that.. the pride had faired terrible.- "Hate and anger isn't going to help anyone now little one. Mwali didn't cause the plague... then best that can happen is to try to salvage what is left."
"A Mwali.." -Returning a stern gaze to the large red male, he stated levely.- "If you can't even guarentee your life.. then how am I ever to place weight on the claim 'you'll protect my pride members with your life'?
I'd like to think on this for a day though.. know who you plan to take with you. I need to speak to all of you before I can make my final judgement on whether or not I'll allow the others to follow after you."

Kimeti barely listened to Mwali's excuses. His mind was still set upon Mwali turning himself against the pride for his own selfish reasons, not caring what happened to the Firekin, his own family. He was about to turn and leave when he caught what his uncle was speaking to the king about.
He growled a bit louder this time. "You expect to return to the pride unscathed!? I'll fight you myself if I have to. I am the only male left, I have a duty to the pride to protect the other lionesses, my mother and sister from traitors like you. Besides, do you think my mother would welcome you with open arms?! You left her, my father and the others. How could she forgive you for such a thing and allow you back within the pride."
It was quite obvious that Kimeti was not the least bit happy with Mwali and he didn't allow himself to hold back. True, Kimeti wasn't too sure how he could beat a full grown lion but he reasoned that Mwali grew soft in his time of prosper while he, Kimeti, grew stronger during the hardships he and his family endured.
He turned to the golden lion as he spoke. "You know nothing of the life I have had, growing up with those you held dear dieing like flies! I have every right to feel this way. Mwali left his family to join a pride which is growing soft in there land of green and plentiful. Come join us in the desert and live the life of a Firekin and I doubt you or any others of your pride would last much longer."

"I didn't say you shouldn't feel the way you do. I said it wasn't going to help anything."
-Softening his voice a little, he stood again, giving a slight shake to his massive mane as he sized up the youth.- "The past is something that can't be changed.. so there is very little use in arguing over it.
I'm sorry that things were hard for you. I'm sure Mwali is even more sorry. But all that means is that you have a chance to make things better now. To obtain whatever it is that you long for. A better land for your family? A better life simply?
Putting your mind towards those things is FAR more productive then dwelling in anger on what has already happened, and cannot be changed."

"Kimeti.... do you think that I'd be alive if I remained in the desert with the pride as I was supposed to? Perhaps my leaving was for the best, I'm pretty sure it's what saved my life- and I'm sure that the gods have a reason for it all. Your father did teach you better- I of all lions would know his way of thinking. Everything happens for a purpose....", He sat himself down with a great thud, hardly caring if it looked silly. He was so shaken up it was a wonder he didn't run off to pout about it, "And you left just as I did... It's hardly fair to point claws when you're guilty of the very same crime as I."
He turned to Mufasa, his eyes a bit glassy, "Sire I give my word that no harm will come to them. If I must die for that to be then so be it. I would fight to the death if only to hold the danger off long enough for them to escape. Sir please believe me when I say that those who have grown close to me mean everything... without them I'd not be here before you- I'd probibly be with my brother now..." He looked to his paws slowly, "Everything for a purpose."

-He of course, didn't believe in the gods and goddess that the Firekin's placed their faith in.. nor that something swayed someone's fate other then themselve, but he wasn't going to begrudge Mwali with it at the moment.- "Fore thought is one of the best weapons one can have. If things really are as this young one says I need to know that you and those travelling with you are strong enough to physically and mentally to best the lioness' that might harbor ill feelings for you.
I know I certainly wouldn't have the drive to fight against family unless it was absolutely necessary.." -That was a lie.. unless the very safety of the pride came down to it, he wouldn't have the drive to fight any of his family, but he continued strongly.-
"I still want to see who else is going.. or atleast know, so I know that you aren't simply leading them in on something far over their heads."

Kimeti growled at Mufasa. "I am tired of your words."
Turning to Mwali he flicked his tail. "I didn't leave the pride. I needed to see what other lands there were, as well as this green land mother talked about but why she speaks of it so fondly I'll never know." With that he turned his back to them and began to head back to the Firekin lands. "I'll be prowling the boundaries." He stated matter-of-factly as he slowly sauntered away to the land of golden sand, his home.

Mwali placed a heavy paw on the cub's tail- preventing him from going any further, "Now that you've come here you're in my care until we reach home." He made his voice far more firm then it perhaps had ever been, looking down to his nephew sharply, "I know I'm not your father, nor am I your grandfather or any other relation you wish I was but I am still your uncle and I'll be damned if I let you scamper around in a strange land... with your attitude I'm suprised you've not been attacked yet. It's quite rude for you to make such broad assumptions of everything... I came here based off of what your mother said." He was tempted to reveal the truth to the cub but it would prove to be terribly dangerous for the cub. Half-bloods were something that the traditional fire-kin would NOT tolerate. If the cubs weren't killed quickly they would be left to the mercy of the scavangers of the desert.
He turned back to Mufasa, lifting his head a bit so he looked a bit more like the firekin "king" he was. "Please believe me, sir... I will protect them. Somewhere in me I'm sure lives the fighting spirit of a firekin heir. If it comes down to it- I'm sure I can fight like a demon to protect those I love...." He glanced down to Sukutu and smiled a bit, turning back to Mufasa, "Those who wish to come with me are about as stuborn as anything, I'm sure, sire. Even if I snuck out on my own I know they'd find me. I've never been good at hiding anyway."

Kimeti barely knew what he was doing as Mwali placed his paw on his tail but a moment later Kimeti had his claws out and turned quickly to attack the older lion. All thoughts of decency were gone in that split second. A fight in an unfamiliar pride was not the best of things to provoke, and Kimeti knew that. That had been why he turned to walk away so as not to cause anymore trouble in the pride. He had said his peace and was ready to go but Mwali just had to keep it going.
Kimeti lunged forward, his claws out, ready to sink intot he soft flesh of the older lion. The first hing his paw had collided with though was Mwali's protective mane, but Kimeti didn't allow that to stop him and leapt back to get a better angle before attacking again.

-He suddenly wondered if Maawio still hung back.. listening silently to the entire play of events, and he cast a soft glance behind him, watching for her golden pelt.-
"You're correct about that at the very least.. stubbornness and compassion runs rampant through these lands, so I'm quite certain they will follow, and in that case.. I give your trip my blessing."
"Do however realize... that I won't stand for you taking more children along then adults... As this one has so clearly shown, talking isn't the curruency of your people. If one so young can habor such feelings, expect it tenfold from every adult there.
And if my pride members do not return... well, if you aren't dead already, this pride will hold steep judgement against you."
-The attack came quickly however, his eyes widening, before he rose his voice in a loud rumbling roar. This was a test, if Mwali couldn't deal with a child, then he most certainly couldn't deal with going back.-

It would be a lie to say that Mwali wasn't startled by the attack- but after the young firekin's first attempt he had risen to all four, rounding on the cub quickly. The cub made an attempt at his mane- no good, it was nearly as thick as his father's had been in his prime. He didn't know how to fight any better than a bird knew how to swim but he forced himself to think of a way to keep the cub under control without putting any harm to him. He pictured in his mind a rabbit- as Koho and himself had been hunting more recently. As the cub returned to the ground after his first attack and re-angled himself Mwali's paws came down again- his claws remained inside of them so any strike to the cub was more of a whack. He's played enough with Sukutu and Jasiri to know how to best a cub. A paw swung up from underneith the little fire-kin, sending him into the air. Another paw moved up to meet the cub in the air and toss him to the ground, pinning him by his side to the grass. Just for further measure Mwali bent down and let out a powerful and rather intimidating roar- warning the cub to try it again. He didn't have to know hwo to fight to get others to think that he did. Sukutu would probibly know his method for pinning the cub all too well if he had watchd him play with the cubs and fox he had arrived with.

Kimeti had been ready for the attack, but to say that he expected Mwali to fight in such a way was a surprise and before he figured out what truly happened the ex-firekin prince was above him, he himself pinned to the ground, but Kimeti wasn't completely through yet. One thing his father had taught him well was how to fight. With his hind feet he kicked outward, hitting Mwali in his own back leg, claws raking at the vulnerable skin as he tried to wriggle his way free of the adult lions grip. All he needed was to get on his back. Then he could sink his fangs into Mwali's front leg. That would be enough to allow him to get free but it was proving harder than expected.
He kicked out again with his hind leg, reaching for the leg that had already met his claws, unfortunately his hind claws weren't as sharp as his front, something he didn't really thinkg about as he attempted to get away from the larger lion.

Mwali's second paw came down to pin Kimeti's hind legs and tail. Blood seeped from the cuts on his leg, melting into his crimson coat. Mwali snarled down at the pinned cub, pressing enough of his weight onto him to keep him on the ground and to remind the little one of the position that he was in, "Control your temper, Kimeti... I know Kui didn't neglect that lesson from your other ones. Attacking in anger will only drive you into madness and confusion." He panted, looking up slowly to Mufasa, gods did it have to happen in front of him, "...Sir I'm sorry... if you will not allow any to come with me I understand completely... and if needed I will leave on my own." He knew what that would mean- gods if this little cub had such hate for him he could only imagine the others... the huntresses that had survived. A cold shiver came over him, he could very nearly picture his own death upon the hot sand. He didnt' want to die- it was part of why he had left.

Jasiri finnaly stepped forward out of the shadows. She had wanted the male lions to talk this out alone, but this was just to much. She made her way over to Kimeti eyeing him with a mad glare. "Enough." She said loud and sternly to the young Juvenille. "Your uncle risked his life to save me and my comapnions. If it werent for him, we would be dead from the plauge, or worse! Slaves of the Firekin." She hissed. "Now that your Uncle has found happiness and solitude, hes willing to give up everything to save you and your pride. Mwali is far braver than anyone could image." Her eyes didnt move from the small Firekins. She would not let this...this juvinille talk about Mwali that way! He had saved her life, aswell as many others, and now he was willing to do it again for the sake of his brothers children. Her eyes softed now, the anger slowly flooding out of her. She sat back on the hanches and directed her attention to the kind. "Please excuese me your highness." She bowed her head. "I am also willing to go with Mwali to help his pride. We promise that no harm will come to your pride because of it." The adolecent's eyes made there way over to Kimeti. Her lips soon curled back into a grin. The stubborn little child, he was defenetly Firekin.

Kimeti licked his maw though he knew he had lost the fight, but he felt he had done a rather good job, blood was drawn at least. He struggled for a few more moments, trying to get loose but came to the inevitable decision, that he was pinned and wasn't getitng up till Mwali got off him.
"You wouldn't know what father taught me. You weren't there." He grumbled as his tail flicked angerily behind him. Was Mwali trying to piss him off more because he was doing a fairly good job at it, and to think the whole fight itself could have been avoided if he had only let him, Kimeti, leave the pridelands. In all actuallity it was Mwali's fault.
Trying to shift his weight a bit so he wasn't laying on his leg like he had been previously Kimeti could do nothing but lay on the ground as Mwali continued his conversation with the golden, idealistic king. It was quite obvious that the prideland king lived in a world where just about everything was perfect. It was sad to see that this golden lion was king over such a large pride.

-Ah, finally another willing to disclose their plans. He offered a soft nod in greeting to her apperance, simply watching with caution.
It might seem cold almost... but it really was the best.. letting them sort their problems themselves.-
"If you leave on your own, you won't be returning.. that I'm sure. Simply take your advice, and don't do things out of anger and brashness. Ah.. and I'd suggest bringing a swift messanger if you can.. just in case things do go above your head.
I'd prefer not to meddle in the affairs of the Firekin.. but if my pride is going to be there, then I'm willing to help or send help to retrieve them if something should happen."
