[Aelfwyn] FireDogg8284 __penguin__ ode to optimism We have 5 trumpets in our symphonic band this year. And I got last chair, WTF! scream I should be second, at LEAST. Our BD is stupid as hell. "For the chair placements, I'm going to do it at random. You can challenge up later." Who the hell does that? That is among the stupidest things I've ever heard. Get first chair just to spite him. 3nodding No kidding, that's messed up.
It just seems lazy to dismiss the whole chair system.Yeah, my BD really doesn't run our bands the way I'd like. We lost our assistant BD this year so maybe he's just giving up. He runs the marching band, jazz band, symphonic band, and two varsity bands all by himself now. But still, with symphonic being the highest band, he should at least have chair placements or auditions, which we usually have, and didn't have either of them this past year.

I have a Trumpet that currently needs the part where you stick the mouthpice in ( Lead pipe?) needs Re sordered so i am forced to use something else....
I am using my Grandpa's Corenet that was though a flood and the pipe you stick the mouthpice in(Lead pipe right?) Also needs resordered but that can wait sinve more then the (lead pipe) needs resordered i will use it for now. I now shall dub thee Cornet Smelly or Stinky. Why? Be cause it smells.
I might own another one that I will be able to use for the Festa Bowl Next year In Phoenix Arizona. Our School gets to go there every four years. It's too expensive to fly over there every year. (i'm close to the Middle of Iowa). I think I'm going to get a purple one.

ack! that noob trumpet player (Calvin) I was talking about in my last post transfered schools!!! Now Im all by my onesies in 3rd period again!!! gonk
ah, well, he has a gaia, so I need to find him...somehow...
anyways, we just had our first competition on Saturday and we got a 'good' rating. (the woodwinds were at fault here...)
for our show, we play 3 songs and a drum solo; our closing song is "Deperado" by The Eagles, which has 2 trumpet solos and a trumpet duet
the alumni trumpet player (Lionel) scored us one of 2 solo awards (we got 2nd and 3rd place) and our duet went very well.
I was happy with myself too, because I managed to hit the high B (off the staff) without fail, since I only hit it once in a great while.
but it wont mean a thing until I pull it off again in our up-coming competitions.
for this week, there's one tomorrow and this Saturday, so...wish us luck?
