Uh... actually it takes the same effort to post in black than it takes to post in any other colour other than default...

See the difference? Default colour is actually gray.
Ah ok, then we'll just have to make sure that Huffies post in black, not just default.

Also, I thought you should know.

Dear Angilwingz,

I'm sending this to you because you're the owner of this guild.

It is with deepest regret that I inform you that I will be resigning from my post as the teacher of Care and Magical Creatures and Arithmancy, and furthermore, leaving this esteemed school. While I have grown to love this guild and adored teaching for the short while I did it, I soon found that I had to make a choice: I could either excel as a teacher or excel as a student during my first year of highschool. The rigors required to succeed are more than I had expected and I have little if any time to spend on Gaia; as you can see, I made the decision to devote my time to being a student.

I was considering hanging around to see if things got better, but then I realized how selfish a decision that was. The sooner I leave, the sooner you can begin searching for a teacher to fill my positions.

Once again, I'm very sorry that I must leave. The Harry Potter Guild of Gaia is the singularly best Harry Potter themed guild I have come across-- ever. I wish you the best of luck in the future.

My deepest regards,
Sazzarah

Just out of curiosity, does a Deputy Head have all the powers and responsibilitys of a Head when the Head isn't there? Or are there certain things about being a Deputy that restricts? Just wanna make sure I don't overstep my bounds here.

After all... this is my first time having actual mod powers around here O_o'

Speaking of Deputys... I just realized we got prefects and deputys in every house. How come the title Head Boy/Girl has dissapeared completely? *blink* Just another curiosity of mine.

No idea Icee kind of took over the prefect assigning duties so we'll have to ask her.

Yes to your first question. Only one person has control over the DH and that's the HEad. When the head is on absence or something the nextt person in charge (IE Deputy HEad) resumes all the duties. Which is why mod powers are also given. Also if the Head resigns the Deputy HEad automatically gets the position next. That way someone will always be there to take the reins of a house. The HEads get to choose their own Deputy Heads and Prefects, for this. This is the new format. The exception to that rule is KT. She hasn't been around so I chose the Deputy Head and prefect with mods' approval. But if KT resigns she can chose her own replacement, meaning unless she chooses Juni, Juni won't be Head.

When term started I thought I asked all the Heads that if they wanted to make changes they could. I must have forgotten you Angil, but I'm sure I PMed you. Anyway both Ume Tanaka and Eow were active over the summer *the only active Slytherins* so I gave them the positions. That was really temporary and if you want to change it go ahead and do so

From what KT and I used to discuss Head Boy and Girl never really got panned out. Kt's original plan wanted to use sixth and seventh years for that. HOwever they didn't stay around that long. I think this new system works pretty well though. Because of the balance of modpowers(well that's how it was at first) there's really no need for the Head Boy/Girl. I basically combined the positions. Right now there's a DH *which is really a suprme prefect* then there's a prefect *prefect 2*. As the guild gets mroe and more members (my biggest hope) we'll add junior prefects as needed.

This House SPirit thing will be the final event until Fright Week right? Well if it can we do some small contests beween that time?
I have an idea I want to do for Fright Week. I think I'll call it Trick or Treat. IT'll work kinda like a SS thing but not like that. I'm still tweaking it so if it's okay with you can I do that?

Will we be having the Monthly?

.

Hmm...can you pllease PM me the details on your trick or treat plan?
Last years Fright Week can be found here, and from what I can see you were in charge of running the Trick or Treat event last year, so if you want to do it again with some changes, that's probably fine. We won' be having the same theme
as last year (Ghost Hosts), so we'll have to pick a new theme. I'm liking the idea of re-opening the monthly too, I'd like to arrange one edition per gaia thread page, so 15 posts if possible, meaning we'll need about 10 sort of articles. I'd like all the mods to write an article. Maybe if we each write a short article about our teams efforts in spirit week? Including house elves, that's 5, and I know I can find the other articles I need through PMs and such...but I'm really liking the idea. I think another lottery is in order. Last year the plan to award house points kind of fell through and I'd like to figure out a better way to get that done as well.
I think the avatar contest is a wonderful idea again as well because it's halloween. The trivia was ok last year, but the prize patrol didn't work the way I planned. Ideas?

Also, since House Spirit week is finished now I added up all the points earned and added them to the hour glasses, but I was looking at the level of house elf participation, and I got an idea. What if next term we let the house elves compete, and instead of getting a house cup, they get a table in the great hall during the end of term feast? They don't need to win, just not come in last. What do you figure? They should get some credit for event participation and class work.

Actually you did everything. I just did what you said do. Which was get the answers.

Because Fright Week is our biggest event I think it should be ran by every Head. The way I am suggesting is that each day during the Week a different Head can do their thing. That increases activity for that day and whatnot. Then on Sat and Sun everyone or you do what you want.

I just got back

Then in the rp society they wouldn't be House-elves.

Their credit is getting sorted and prizes adn stuff. That's why I think we should give away better prizes. The work we did over the summer helped progress the guild to better heights, that can't be denied. I want to be able to boast that we have the greatest guild. Also in the event subforum I propose we put an event feedback/poll thread in the forum. That way we can know what people thought of our past events so we can improve as time goes on.

Sicne you're handling House Spirit and Fright Week. Can I handle the Xmas Event and the mini event in Nov? there's really no reason for you to say no, but if you have one I'd love and appreciaet it hearing it.

I'm confused by what you mean by "every Head". How can a day be run by one head? Each head has their own activities to run on one day during the week? Is that what you mean? If you do, then that seems a bit hectic for my taste O_o

That was the idea. It wouldn't be activities plural just one thing like I wanted to do trick or treating or something so on Thursday or the Elves' day I'd select the winner. It was an idea that needs work
