Kilik sat and looked at the floor, his black hair covering his so-called 'beautiful' emerald eyes. He slowly looked from the corner of his eye, noticing all the people that were trying to peer into the car. He clenched his teeth. They all think I'm a cold murderer... he thought. The boy knew why he killed the President: pure pressure. Of course, it's not as if the jury cared. Kilik was sure all they wanted was to see him in prison for life.

Nina heard a commotion outside of Vermillion's Pokemon Center, and she went to one of the windows in the main entrance and peered outside. She noticed a large group of people gathered about, and they were talking loud enough for her to hear them, but not loud enough to actually understand them. Plus, the window muffled most of the sound that went on outside.

Sabrina approached the same window as her sister. "He's coming soon," she said.

Nina was silent a moment. "...I know."

The car stopped. The driver opened the door and Kilik slowly got out. He didn''t have his eyes connect with anyone. He took a deep breath, rolled back his shoulders and walked foreward with the driver. Two guards came from the courthouse to help escort the boy. Jeers were heard from the crowd. He heard one man say, "Kill him where he stands!" Another said, "Take his life and his Pokemon!"

Figures. Don''t even give me a chance... he thought, a growl appearing in his throat. He supressed it.

Pushing past the hundreds of people blocking her path, Kasiya was fairly glad to see her street was mostly deserted. She stopped and rested against a tree, breathing deeply. Just a few blocks until home, she thought excitedly. I can't wait to show Mom my badges! She straightened up, stretching, and continued walking, keeping a quick but steady pace.

When her house came into view, she ran towards it, and up the front steps. She opened the door quietly, and stepped inside. "Mom?" she asked softly, slowly walking down the hall. She could hear voices coming from the kitchen.

"...been over this hundreds of times." Her mother's voice.

"You still don't think she's old enough to know the truth?" Kasiya suppresed a gasp - it was Surge.

"After all these years, Jack," her mother sighed. "I don't think she'll be able to handle the truth now. Not after we've kept it from her for so long."

"Then we might as well tell her," Surge said, standing up. Tell me what? Kasiya's heart was racing. She could see their shadows on the floor - Surge was sitting at the table, and her mother was pacing.

"I just don't know," her mother said, her voice shaky. "We should have told her a long time ago."

Kasiya took a deep breath and stepped out of the shadows. "Tell me what?" she asked calmly.

Nina stepped out of the Pokemon Center as she noticed Kilik and his escort approaching.

She looked to Kilik. "Well. Hello there. Got yourself in quite a scrape, hmm?"
PostPosted: Fri Aug 19, 2005 7:15 pm

Both turned to look at the girl, startled. Then, both their gazes when from each other to the floor.

"It's very important that you not be upset with us," her mother began, coming towards her.

"Now Mia," Surge said, standing up. "She can be as angry with us as she pleases. This is something we should not have kept from her."

"I promise I won't be angry," Kasiya said calmly. "Or at least I'll try."

"You know that pendant your mother gave you?" Surge asked, kneeling down in front of her.

"Yes," Kasiya said, her stomach tying itself into knots. "She said it belonged to my father." She pulled it up so it was out from under her shirt. "I never take it off."

He nodded. "Well you see the thing is..." he trailed off, and took a deep breath. "That pendant actually belongs to me. I gave it to your mother a long time ago. I was stationed here in Vermilion, and I met her one day during one of my days off."

Kasiya blinked at him, letting his words sink in. "So that means you're my dad?" she asked, not quite sure what her feelings were at the moment. He nodded, as did her mother. "That's....I don't know..." she stared at her shoes, her face expressionless.

"We should have told you sooner, Kassie," her mother said, kneeling down next to Surge.

"So you dated my mom for a while and then you had to leave Vermilion?" Kasiya asked, determined to get the story straight.

"Yeah, the war. I was called off overseas. It was dumb of me I know, but I didn't keep in contact with her, and when I came back to town a few years later, I found out that she'd had you. I then retired from the army and became a gym leader. I didn't want to be far from you - both of you, ever again." His look was of pure sadness, but something in his voice made Kasiya feel like there was more to his story. Her mother looked like she was going to cry. They both looked up at her, waiting for her to respond. Kasiya leaned over and hugged both of them, then stood up.

"I think I have to go now," she said quietly, and she left the house before they had time to stop her.

She jumped down the front stairs, her pace brisk and her face stoic. She slipped her PokeNav out of her pocket and turned the phone off. She didn't feel quite like talking to anyone at the moment. The van containing Kilik had seemed to arrive, and the conglomeration of people were mobbed around him, shouting things and holding signs. Kasiya paid them no notice, just kept walking. She soon found herself at the train station, about five minutes before the train was due. She looked back at the direction of her house, then in the direction of the courthouse. "They'll have enough on their plates with Kilik's trial going on," she said to nobody in particular. "I need to get out of this place. I need somewhere fresh, somewhere....new." She sat down on a bench, alone, and waited. Soon the train would come, and she would be on it.

The train arrived right on time. Few people got off, and she was the lone passenger boarding. She showed her ticket to the conductor, who nodded. As she boarded, he thought to himself I've never seen a girl look so stone-faced in my life! Kasiya found an empty compartment near the front of the train, and closed the door. She let Growly and Ariel out of their Pokeballs. "Don't let anyone come in here," she told them sternly.

"Porre!"

"Grow!"

She nodded, and lied down on the seat. She released Shocker, Seto and Fang as well. Fang hung himself upside-down on one of the railings, and Shocker and Seto cuddled up against her. "I don't know where we're going, guys," she said, a tear falling down her cheek, "but I'm sure we'll like it."

Nina was rather irritated when Kilik's escort nearly hollered at her for speaking to him. ''Don't talk to the killer, and I mean it!" the escort roared, his mouth opening fully as he did so. Nina gave the escort a horribly dark look. Sabrina, who was standing next to Nina, did as well.

Nina believed that if at that moment looks could kill, she would have killed the escort and sent him lower than Hell. "Well," Nina said sarcastically, "excuse me for saying two sentences from him, Mister I'm-In-Charge-So-I-Think-I-Can-Boss-Everyone-Around." By this point, the escort had stopped walking and had several guards hold onto Kilik.

"Look, kid," the escort said, "I could stand here all day and listen to you flap your lips at me, but unlike you I have a job to do. Now if you don't move along and leave us grown-ups to do what we have to do, you may regret it."

Nina's hand flung toward the escort, stopping centimeters from his face, only because Sabrina had psychokinetically stopped her sister. "Don't, Nina," Sabrina said. "This... boy is not worth our time." Nina withdrew her hand back toward her body, and stomped back into the Pokemon Center. Sabrina followed.

"I hope Kilik is freed and kills you next," she muttered angrily and nearly inaudibly under her breath. By the time the girls had reached the front desk, Nurse Joy had presented them with their Pokeballs. Sabrina thanked her, and they each took their Pokemon back. Nina let out Anna and Mihoshi, and sat down on a bench, Mihoshi sitting on her lap and Anna floating by her side. Sabrina joined them a few moments later.

"Hey," Sabrina said. "Whatsay you go and win yourself a Thunderbadge?"

Nina shook her head. "Surge isn't there now... plus, I don't feel much like going to a gym, anyway. I want to..." Nina's voice trailed off. "You want to what?" Sabrina asked.

"I want to go home for a little while... I miss Johto. I need to get away from all of this for even just a day or two..." There was silence for a moment.

"But... what about your getting a badge so you can Fly?" Sabrina asked.

"Psh... Chuck in Cianwood's badge enables Pokemon to Fly," Nina replied.

"But, you have to surf to get there. You don't have that badge, either."

Nina shrugged. "Anna and I can take out Morty in Ecruteak. Right, Anna?"

Anna replied, "I'm not sure if I can beat ALL of his Pokemon... but you most certainly have my word that I'll try my hardest."

Nina smiled. "Thanks, hun." She was silent a moment. "But... wait. I don't even have HM03..." Sabrina smiled, and reached into a large pocket she had on her pants. "You don't have it," she said, "but I do." She smiled, and pulled out a beautiful, shining blue disk.

Another smile came from Nina as she hugged her sister. "Thank you so much, Sabrina!" Sabrina replied it was no trouble, and reached for Regal's Pokeball as Nina grabbed Cupcake. The girls let their Pokemon out, and Sabrina pressed the disc to both of their foreheads, and could feel them absorbing the knowledge from it. Afterward, Sabrina put her disc away along with Regal, and Nina recalled Cupcake.

"Now," Nina said as Mihoshi trilled, "all that we need to do is catch a train for Johto." The girls, Mihoshi, and Anna exited from the Pokemon Center, bound for Vermillion's train station. They arrived there a short time later, but the train wasn't due for about ten minutes. The girls sat on a bench and waited.

"I wish we could have said good-bye to Kasiya before we left," Sabrina said.

"Yeah," Nina replied, "I'm really going to miss her..."

Ryka looked down, trying not to let Tony see her face. There was silence for a moment, but she tried to get some words out.

"I know I am." She looked up and flashed a smile, but it soon faded away. But just then, something pink caught her eye. She looked past Tony, and saw a very rare sight. A Clefairy was frantically looking around at the base of the Mountain. When it noticed Ryka was watching, it skipped along, but not to the Main Entrance of Mt. Moon. Ryka ran after it, followed by Aura, and Thunder, who sparked his cheeks at Tony before running after them. Ryka didn't look back to see if Tony was coming, she only followed the Clefairy. She eventually lost sight of it, but she noticed another entrance into the cave on the side, seemingly dug out by a Pokemon. There were no lanturns lining the way through. She suspected the Clefairy went inside, so she slowly walked in.

Mitsu stood near the edge of the boat, her hair blowing in the wind. She sent out Nightmare knowing he'd love the exercise and that he could keep up with the boat. Karri, Ivy, and Ebony also were released and were enjoying the cool ocean breeze. She turned her head seeing Mike deep in thoughts, his gaze fixed on the blue ocean. She sighed glad to have time to enjoy the breeze and think for a chance.

Koji walked deeper into the forest. He was in deep thought as well. I'm such an idiot! He screamed to himself in his mind. That boy could have been a friend. He let out a deep sigh. Charmeleon seemed to do fine making friends with the Pokemon, but why couldn't I? Charmeleon released himself from the Pokeball, Scizor, Seel, and Espeon as well. "Char? meleon, Char?" The orange Pokemon asked.

"You want a nickname?" Koji replied a bit shocked. The Charmeleon explained the event on the beach while he was gone and Koji agreed to give him and the rest of his Pokemon a nickname. "Just give me some time to think Charmeleon." The four Pokemon gladly awaited their new, special names.

The train lurched forward, and Kasiya sighed. She didn't want to return to Vermilion, or Kanto for that matter, anytime soon. But where should we go? she thought, stroking Seto's soft fur. He purred loudly. Maybe I could go to Hoenn and surprise Mike...he said they were going to Dewford Island soon. Maybe they haven't left yet and I could catch up to them? She yawned, pushing the past few events far from her mind. The movement of the train made her start to feel drowsy. She yawned a second time, and rubbed her eyes. Yeah...I'll go to Hoenn... she thought drowsily as she fell fast asleep.

((Anya, I promise that I didn't copy my stuff in this post from yours. xd ))

The train finally arrived after what felt like eons, and not the Eevee kind of eons, either. The girls got to their feet and waited for the train to stop before they approached it. They showed their tickets, and found seats near the back of the train, sitting across from one another. Few people got on aside from them, and it wasn't much longer until the train lurched forward.

"Nina," Sabrina asked, "what will you do after getting your badges?"

Nina was quiet for a few seconds. "I'm not sure," she replied, "maybe go and look for Kasiya?"

Sabrina wore an expression that read, that's not a good idea. "Perhaps... Kasiya needs time to herself. We've been with her for awhile and I'm sure she needs independent time."

Nina gazed out the window. "Perhaps we can go visit Mitsu and Mike in Hoenn-- I never did go to see them when I said I would..."

Sabrina smiled a little. "All right. That sounds like a plan." Mihoshi trilled, adding her two cents.

The girls went from talking to eachother to staring out the window at the passing scenery. It was almost hypnotizing...

((that is kind of funny XD Did you guys get on the train after mine? question ))
Kasiya's sleep was troubled by dreams of her parents, the war, and they gym. At one point, she dreamed she had inherited the gym, and was to become the new gym leader. She had protested because her only Electric type had been Shocker, who had been forced to evolve and was a very unhappy Raichu. Kasiya woke from the dream, shaking slightly and with a nasty headache. She sat up, looking around. The train was still moving, but she had no idea where they were. She looked out the window. It was night.

There was a knock on the door of the compartment, and Growly sprang to his feet and growled. Kasiya told him to stay back, and opened it a sliver.

"Just thought you'd like to know, Miss, that we'll be arriving in Goldenrod City in about ten minutes." He smiled at Kasiya.

"That's not our stop," she smiled back. "But could you let me know when we get to Petalburg?"

"No problem," he said, moving on. Kasiya breathed a sigh of relief and shut the door again. "Nice job, Growly," she said, patting him on the head. "I don't think anyone's going to bother us in here, so you can just rest up."

Her gaze went out the window, at the dark scenery passing by. She couldn't see much, but she could see that it was starting to rain.

((Wonder what it's going to be like with Kasiya in Hoenn with us. whee ))
((You know what I just remebered? We were suspose to meet in Slateport Aire! xd ))

She let out a sigh. I wonder what Mike's thinking. She brushed off the thought and watched Nightmare swim. He looked so elegant in the water despite his massive size.
