((ohhhhhk

i figured it would have immediate effect.))

Paul now crouched behind the bank counter. Several terrified tellers were crouched with him, and one was repeatedly and obviously pressing the silent panic button. It appeared he'd been doing so for quite some time, as he was sweating harder than the others and his hand movements were forced.

No movement outside... no new sounds. Difficult to hear people walking over the crowds...

You only know that 'cause I told you.

Should we go again?

If I WAIT, he gets the advantage of being on the offensive.
Robert paused tensely here, then finished,
We're thaumaturgic, right? We'd need time.

Okaaaaaay... I need objects, then, to store it in.

Cliche for me.

The bouncy ball came to a rest in the middle of the floor. Takeshi watched.

Takeshi asked dryly.
Haru's smirk was evident.

In about five seconds, the bouncy ball began to suck everything towards it. Two people disappeared into it almost immediately, while others attempted to hold onto fixed objects to avoid being pulled in.

((Sorry about the momentary first-person in my last post; it's been fixed))

Siber, still in his weird, transitory state, observed Abaddon's strange battle with Leviathan with something between sadistic glee (because he was getting somewhere) and shivering terror (because he was getting somewhere). Either Abaddon had actually weakened, or Leviathan and Joe were equally powerful and significantly more powerful than he had anticipated, or the two Warlocks were both about to receive surprise and unwelcome metaphorical rapage. He felt something odd somewhere in the city.

Siber responded.

Siber did as instructed. Somewhere vaguely near the point of disturbance, his vision was stretched and compressed. He pulled back, "sweating."

Leviathan caught a blow in her hand and used the other one to swing. In other words, the fight continued, with Abaddon still casting seemingly wary glances at Joe, who had yet to re-enter the fray.

Abaddon dodged the strike, moving towards Leviathan and dropping his sword to throw both of his hands towards Leviathan's chin. With a roar and a burst of energy she was launched ten feet into the air. As she began to fall, Abaddon stood beneath her, launching her upwards again with an uppercut, then launching three orbs of red light that arced towards her.

Leviathan spun in mid-air, whipping the sword she had gained outwards to deflect the light spheres. She then launched the sword at Abaddon and swung her fist around as she fell, carving out a three-foot radius landing zone and simultaneously slamming Abaddon a good twenty feet away from her, then charging yet again with her dead gaze. Five minutes remaining.

Abaddon's chains whipped around the sword as it approached him, bringing it back into his grasp. As he was launched he threw his chains around Leviathan and brought her with him for the flight.

((Oh, a new player will be joining us soon))

Leviathan let the chains pull her through the air a few feet, then landed and dug in her heels while grabbing the chains with her left hand. Just before she halted, she used the chains to swing the avatar in a vertical arc over her and into the pavement, not six feet from Joe.

Come on, Joe, Siber thought from his floating perch over Leviathan's head. I didn't mean for you to just stand there! Hit him! But he knew he couldn't be heard. Not for another four minutes.

((That's cool.))

Paul swore again, and was pulled violently against the bank desk, along with all of the people hiding behind it. The direct pull, however, simply dragged him against it, albeit with enough force to bruise.

Oh, I know how to handle this one, Paul thought.

Working against the pull, very laboriously, Paul carefully removed the magazine from his gun, then pried a single round from within. Almost casually he tossed it into the air and over the desk, knowing that either it would hit something and explode or the force that was sucking it in would detonate it. If nothing else, it would be a distraction.

The round exploded within the gravity well but nothing seemed to have changed. The bouncy ball, it seemed, was merely a targeting device for where the black hole would be generated.

Joe watched the fight with wary interest, ready to flee if things turned sour with Leviathan. However, it seemed that the Avatar couldn't quite defeat her; indeed, they were evenly matched. They went blow for blow, and neither seemed about to give in.

Joe nodded and cracked his knuckles before looking up sharply. There was nothing there, although he could swear he'd heard his name.

Joe grinned as fire actually lept from his eyes, sparking and flaring madly. His hands and forearms were also awash in white flame as he stepped towards the downed Avatar. He reached down and picked him up with almost contemptuous ease. He punched the Avatar in the center of his chest, leaving a smoking burn, then released him to do a spinning kick at his face.

((excellent. new blood should help things keep moving.))

((Venom - would I survive being sucked in?))

((Huh. The lazy tactic in my last post didn't work quite right. Ah well... I'm short on time, energy, and motivation for the forseeable future, so have my character do something interesting. The intent of the wording of my last post, BTW, was to indicate that pillars of fire would be hitting the battlefield wherever it seemed prudent. Unfortunately, no one got this message from the suspenseful cutoff.))

((SirBayer: Only one way to find out. I wouldn't advise it, personally. biggrin ))

Jonathan Helmsborough received a literally explosive kick in the face, launching him back into Samuel.
Gurul asked. Samuel mentally agreed.
He grabbed Abaddon's head and began blasting fireballs at a literal point blank. Abaddon's Avatar snapped his sword upward at Samuel, who dodged back and blocked the follow-up strike with his own sword.

he asked as he kicked Samuel back and swung at Joe with one motion, then jumped atop Leviathan's striking arm and kicked her in the face.

He flipped backwards and landed ten feet away.

"I warn you now. This... is where I get serious," he declared. He turned his sword to himself and plunged it into his chest. A roar that grew in volume and pitch rose from the Avatar, culminating with a mind-numbing burst of light and sound.

As their senses returned, the fighters saw that Jonathan Helmsborough now looked to all of them as he had appeared to Second Sight: clothing ripped, covered in his barbed chains, which erupted from a hole in his back, meat hooks penetrating many of his joints. He blood-soaked and scarred, and was glaring wildly with all three of his eyes.

((Well. I won't try it, then.))

Paul struggled as best he could, but it was a losing fight. He couldn't muster the strength to climb away, not properly. Sooner or later he would black out, and then he wouldn't have even the faintest chance. No path led to victory that he could see; at least one might lead to survival.

Mustering what remained of his strength, Paul cried out, "Alright! I surrender! Stop the magic and I'll give you my weapons!" Hopefully his attacker could actually HEAR him, or else Paul would be unconscious in a matter of minutes.

Takeshi could not hear Paul, but was ready to kill it anyway.

He had relocated and had a group of four zombies under his direct control; due to the conservation of finesse in control of zombies, each of these would be more dangerous than a large group under Takeshi's tight control.

((There was actually another way for you to get rid of it before Takeshi's relocation and planning, but you didn't find it. 3nodding ))
