Does the world of Naruto have powerplants?
I'm always confused about hte level of technology available. We know they have radios, and it looks like they have electric lights, but no one has cars or guns at all...

-c4-cyberlink Reyemile Zuhalter I'm slowly learning the battle system and slowly not liking it. When I first started, I thought I had it figured out, but it seems that I don't. I have a suggestion about your attacking system. To attack for a taijutsu melee the roll is:
1d20 + Melee (Base Attack Bonus + Str)
Damage: 1 - 6 + 2 per 10 ranks Taijutsu
Your taijutsu skill has no place in the attack, which I think should be changed. Attacking with your hands and feet shouldn't rely on your character's level and your strength. Your attack with taijutsu should rely on how strong you are in that art. Your amount of experience and strength should determine the potential damage of the hit.
So, my suggestion is this:
1d20 + Taijutsu Skill
Damage: 1 - 6 + Melee Attack Bonus + 1 per 10 ranks Taijutsu
I also would like to suggest taking out the "strength" base to the Taijutsu skill. It should be raw skill, because different ninjas use different attributes to make their Taijutsu. Lee, uses speed while Tsunade uses strength. Lee does more hits, but less damage. Tsunade does more damage, but with less hits.
I'll understand if my forumla isn't acceptable, but I still think Taijutsu should be tied in with your attack roll. Taijutsu IS tied with your attack roll, isn't it? I know that for Shuriken, every 10 ranks of skill adds one to your attack. And your suggestion is horribly broken. It's easy for a starting academy student to have 6-7 ranks of taijutsu, and to squeeze out a few more points through academy training excercizes. Meanwhile, a starting student's dodge value usually hovers around 8, since both Dex and Wis have a baseline score of 6. In short, Taijutsu students will NEVER miss each other if Taijutsu is the skill for attack rolls. and that's where you go wrong, students don't have skills wink Taijutsu ISN'T tied in with attack roll ATM. Only Kunai, Shuriken and Ninja Weapons are. Taijutsu is only for damage. FYI Ninjutsu skill adds damage and makes it harder to dodge (affects Reflex). Genjutsu skills affect both your and your enemy's Will Saves. I thought students couldn't have skills... sweatdrop But I have to say something... the battle system is full of contradictions... And the whole point of Kenk removing the roll from the dodge is that when Academy Student sparred everyone kept dodging.
