im not sure either lolz Wheres the Corn becca147598 oboe anyone? ive been playing the oboe for 2 years in middle school band growing a friendship and somewhat telepathy with the other oboe player, mina who sits next to me. i have lerned many great things in band, but the most important is there is no such thing as a tuned oboe, XD So true. So true.
~Just as a side note:
I've always wondered why orchestras usually tune to the oboe, and apparently it's because the oboe is always in tune, no matter what. Being sharp or flat all depends on the embochure (mouth shape). I'm not sure if that's right or not because our school's oboist will be extremely flat, push her reed all the way in, and be extremely sharp. I'm not sure. Someone should totally tell me if I'm wrong or not, because I'm not sure.

I started Bassoon this year after my director asked if I wanted to try. I play clarinet for marching band.

I thought I was one of the only oddballs who did that *high fives*...mostly because my director plays the flute and pushed me into it...but still! ^_^ Lol, yeah, my hands are small, so I didn't want to play clarinet, so I just chose flute..! I hoped I wasn't the only oddball here!

My hands are small, but my fingers are kinda long...but they're also really thin. I've tried playing my friend's clarinet, and I can never play low notes because of the ring finger on my right hand. And I tried out a bassoon once...didn't end well. I could hardly reach any of the keys and holes. xd

!!!!! My parents just told me that I'll be able to buy an oboe soon. I'm looking into some stuff, and a friend of mine suggested buying at Washington Music Center, but any suggestions on oboes from anyone? :]

Electric_lemur My main isturmaent is Bassoon, but i play alto sax in marching band. I want to learn the english horn. Fancy(: ive been playing bassoon for 3 years and alto sax for 5 years. i would LOVE to learn english horn or oboe!
